Three Friends

~Serena’s POV~

I cried for hours in my room. Why my life is so unfair? I know he doesn’t want me but having s*x with someone in my presence and hearing him like that broke my heart. I didn’t think that it will be this much difficult. I thought that the moon goddess gave me enough problems and now she is taking pity on me by giving me a mate but I was wrong. He is not only rejecting me but he is making me miserable by having s*x with another woman. Why do I always end up being betrayed?

I had enough of everyone’s s**t. I wiped my tears and washed my face. I won’t cry for someone who doesn’t want me. I have a mission to accomplish and my mate won’t become a distraction.

After a while, Taylor knocked, and I told him to come in. He came and sat in front of me. “Leah told me what happened.”

I looked at him and smiled, “Don't worry Taylor, I am fine. Yes, it affected me for a while but now I am good. I have to focus on my training, not on someone who doesn’t want me. Zedr is looking for me and I can’t fight him if I will be like this. I need to be strong.”

Taylor sighed, “I know how you feel Serena but you are right, you have to focus on yourself. This mate thing can be handled later but your training and safety are our first priority. Don’t think about Noah he will come along. Come let’s have dinner.”

I’m nervous about having dinner with everyone. They won’t say anything if Taylor is going to be there but their thoughts will be enough to drive me crazy.

“They need time to trust you, Serena. They won’t say anything to you and I’ll be there. Come let’s go.” Taylor said in assuring tone.

He hears what people say but he doesn’t know that I hear what people don’t say.

Everyone was happily talking to each other until they saw me. As soon as their eyes landed on me, they all went mute. Some of them ignored me and some of them were looking at me with hate.

I was looking for Leah when a man with a well-built structure came in our direction with a cute smile on his face. He has pretty dark grey eyes and black hair that complement his looks.

Taylor introduced him, “Serena meet Kade, he is our head warrior.”

Kade smiled at me and said, “Hello.”

I replied in a low voice. He must have heard me with his super hearings because he smiled at me again. 2 Kids came and dragged Taylor with them.

“So, Taylor is kid's favourite,” Star said.

I was alone with Kade and super nervous. Kade broke the tension between us, “Taylor told me that you will be joining us from tomorrow onwards on the training grounds.”

I nodded.

He smiled and continued, “It’s always good to have someone new around us. Sometimes they also have new tricks under their sleeves to tackle their enemy or their suggestions are worth it.”

I smiled at him. He was making efforts to talk without judging me or thinking anything about me. I decided to talk to him when Catherine came and called me a rogue.

Kade got angry and raised his voice at her, “Were you not present at her welcoming Catherine? Alpha made it very clear that each member of our clan should be present there. Don’t you know that alpha welcomed her into our clan? She is not a rogue anymore. She is a member of our clan. Don’t you dare go against alpha’s word Catherine, I’m sure you don’t want to upset alpha.”

Catherine stared at him in disbelief but she nodded and left.

I said to Kade, “Thank you for that.”

“No need to thank me, Serena you are a part of this clan. You will be respected like everyone. Come let’s have dinner” He replied smiling.

We sat together and soon Leah came and took her seat on my right. She asked why I was crying and left her alone earlier. I didn’t want to tell her the truth so I lied. I told her that my packhouse had almost everything similar to their packhouse, and it made me miss my family and clan. She seemed satisfied with my answer and didn’t ask any other questions.

Everyone was waiting for their alpha so they can have their dinner but Noah didn’t bother to show himself. Taylor told everyone that alpha is busy, he won’t be joining us for dinner and told them to start eating. Of course, he is busy f*****g his w***e, why would he join us.

Woah! Where does that come from?

I was never like this. I never spoke about anyone this way. Maybe... umm jealousy? Ughhh!! I hate this feeling.

While having dinner I heard what others were thinking about me. They are scared of me. They think that I am here to weaken their alpha or to harm their kids. How will I tell them that I am not a danger to them or their family?

“By spending time with them,” Star replied in a duh tone.

I rolled my eyes at her, “I didn’t know that, thank you so much for your great advice Star. What would I have done if you weren’t there with me?” I replied sarcastically.

“Awww see how good I am, always giving you amazing advice,” she said praising herself.

I shut the link with her and focused on my dinner. Mrs. Beck cooks amazingly, I love her food.

After dinner, I spent some more time with Kade. He is a gentleman. I like his company, friendly and comforting. I am happy that I have 3 friends here- Taylor, Leah, and Kade. At least I am not unwanted to them.

I went to my room and fell on my bed. I am happy that Taylor will start my training tomorrow and Kade said he will be there too.

“What if you saw mate there Serena?” Sere asked.

I know what I have to do. I have made up my mind, I will ignore him. I don’t want anyone to come between me and my training, not even my mate.

“I will ignore him. I don’t care if he will be there or not, he doesn’t want me and I’m not going to force myself on him. I have to focus on my training. I don’t want to be that helpless girl again who can’t even protect herself from her enemy.”

“I know Serena, but Taylor said that our mate has his own story maybe because of that he was behaving like this. Don’t you want to know his reasons?”

I sighed, “I remember what Taylor said and I think he needs some time. I know ignoring him is not the right thing to do but I can’t forget what he did and I need time too. I want to focus on my training and if he is going to be there, then ignoring him is the only option I have. This way he won't be able to hurt me anymore.”

Sere didn’t push it further but Star was silent all time. I think she is still disappointed with everything.

I said good night to both of them and slept.
