Chapter 6Thursday Evening
They put Kitty to bed around eight. Edith went back to the guesthouse. Jason watched Zach put down his iPhone. “I’ve tried calling him all day,” Zach said clearly exasperated.
“While you picked Kitty up from day care, I went over to his house. The Rover was there, but he didn’t answer the door. I called his cell. It went to voicemail. I don’t know what to do except to wait until he gets back from wherever he went or comes up for air. He doesn’t want to see us yet. He can’t stay away forever. We have businesses to run.”
“I hope Bobby’s okay,” Jason said as Zach drew him into his arms.
“He will be. We’ll make sure of it.” Zach promised.
