Chapter 4: Medicine

Harry POV I ran as fast as I could to the pack hospital, making the various pack members I passed look at me curiously. Hearing that Ottilie was in trouble had completely set me on edge, my heart raced as I threw open the doors. I could smell her here, I could smell my brothers too but her scent, of spiced vanilla and oranges was stronger than it had ever been. "Alpha," the pack doctor Louise stood before me, "Come I'll take you through." I followed her through a set of swinging doors and down the brightly lit corridor. Pausing before she opened the door, she looked at me kindly. "She's been through a hell of a lot Alpha Harry," she said softly, "try and stay calm." I nodded, not trusting myself to speak, opening the door she let though and shut it behind me. My brothers were either side of Ottilie holding her hands. Noah looked up at me, his eyes red from where he'd obviously been crying. "What happened," I growled as I took in the state of her face and the bruises and cuts on her arms. "What the hell did you two do?!" Jamie and Noah got up suddenly and growled, "NOTHING," shouted Noah, "How F*****G DARE YOU!" I stepped back and tried to calm my raging wolf. If I wasn't careful I would force a shift. If this happened before I was ready it could make my wolf go feral and there was no coming back from that. "Sorry, sorry, I know you wouldn't have done anything, I didn't mean it in that way," I said tiredly, "What happened to her though, I bumped into her this morning and she looked fine?" "We don't know," Said Jamie, running his hands through his dark hair tiredly. "She ran into me and passed out, Louise said she's malnourished and exhausted, she'll wake up when she's ready." They both sat down and took hold of her hands again. I nodded and moved to the spare chair in front of her. She looked so pale under the harsh hospital lighting. Her nose had obviously broken and she had a cut on her lip but despite her wounds, she still looked stunning. I couldn't take my eyes away from her and I wasn't the only one. All three of us seemed to be mesmerised by her beauty. Jamie cleared his throat suddenly making Noah and I look up at him. "This has to stop here," he said determinedly. "She is not her parents, we have to protect her." I nodded slightly, so did Noah. "But Mum and Dad..." he started before I cut him off. "I'm sick of both of them, I don't think Dad has any intention of handing over to us." "I agree," said Jamie, "but that's a problem for another day.” He reached over and tenderly brushed her dark curls away from her face. We sat in silence, willing her to wake up. Ottilie POV I was walking in a beautiful forest, sun shone through the tree canopy above, rabbits and deer danced around me, following me as I wondered through. It all seemed so familiar, as if I'd been here before. I paused as I came to a waterfall, the water was so clear I could see the fish swimming in the lake that surrounded it. Animals drank from the edges, and I sat on a wooden bench, a feeling of calmness washing over me. I jumped slightly as a stunning glowing figure appeared in front of me. It was definitely a woman, but unlike any woman I had ever seen before. Her blonde hair glowed around her face, her golden gown shining in the sunlight. It looked like she was made up of thousands and thousands of tiny diamonds. She smiled as she approached me, 'Ottilie my child," she said softly, "I am so pleased to finally meet you." I stood up, totally terrified, "how, how do you know my name? Who are you? What is this place?" I gabbled at her. She came closer and sat down on the bench next to me, "sit child," she saved her hand at the spot next to me. "We have much to discuss and not a lot of time." I sat automatically, almost as if I'd been made to do it. Turning towards me she took my hands in hers, my bright blue eyes sparkling as they looked into mine. "My name is Seline, that is how I know your name, and this place, well, I think you must recognise it?" My mouth fell open, I was dumfounded. "Seline? The, the Moon Goddess?" I stuttered. "The one and only," she said grinning at me, reaching forward to smooth my curls away from my face. " "But how?" I asked, realising that we were in the pack forest and that behind that waterfall was my cave. I hadn't been here in years. "I've brought you here because I needed to speak to you about something that is coming. A war to end all wars and you are the only one who can defeat the dark forces at play." She looked at me seriously. Taking advantage of my stunned silence she continued, "I know you will have many questions and I wish I could answer them for you but I need you to trust me child. I promise that if you do, all will work out for the best." "But, I don't even have my wolf, how can I possibly stop a war?" I whispered my head falling as I remembered the shame I felt the day my wolf didn’t appear. "Oh sweetheart," she breathed lifting my head up gently by my chin, "You do have a wolf, a very powerful one. Ariana!" She called. Suddenly, an enormous white with flashing purple eyes appeared from behind the waterfall, "I just needed to make sure you were ready first." I gasped as the wolf, or Ariana, strolled towards me, nuzzling me gently, "but she's white!' I breathed as I leant round to scratch her behind the ears. She purred and flopped down at my feet, "she's beautiful". My love for her was growing by the second, now I know what people meant when they said they loved their wolves. This kind of unconditional love was all consuming. "I told you, you are no ordinary wolf my child. Trust Ariana, she will guide you and help you. There is much to come and not much time to prepare but I know you will succeed." Seline looked at me kindly, her eyes filled with love. "But I'm a nobody, everyone hates me, I'm disgusting," I wailed dramatically. I wasn't prone to dramatics but this was a LOT to take in. Seline rolled her eyes and stood up, "don't be silly, not everyone hates you, those mates of yours certainly don't" she added mischievously. "Mates?" I said confused, wait, I had more than one mate?! "Yes and please try to forgive them. They were doing what they thought was right, boys can be really quite stupid sometimes." She smiled and motioned for me to stand up. "I'm going to send you back now, remember, follow your gut and trust Ariana, I'll be watching you - I believe in you." She began to glow, her whole body shaking and her eyes swirled from blue to black and back again. "Goodbye my child and good luck." she leant forwards and kissed my forehead. I struggled to open my eyes, the harsh lights above me making them ache. I felt heavy, but oddly rested, as if I'd been asleep for a week. I slowly opened my eyes, blinking furiously as they adjusted to the light. I went to rub them but I couldn't, something heavy was on my hands making it impossible to lift them. I turned slightly and gasped. Jamie Silver. What the hell was Jamie doing here? He was fast asleep, his eyelashes resting on his perfect face, I'd not seen him up close for a long time. His face looked like it had been sculpted by the goddess herself, jet black hair falling over his forehead, a few days stubble making him look impossibly sexy. I turned to the right and gasped again. Noah Silver was resting his head on my other hand. His dark hair unkempt and usually tanned cheeks pale. I could feel the air from his perfect plump lips as he exhaled. My god he was sexy too. I tried to move my hand away but his eyes opened suddenly and he smiled at me tenderly. "Good morning angel," he said sitting up and grabbing on to my hand with his. "Where, where am I and why are you and Alpha Jamie here." I stuttered, completely in shock. In a matter of days I'd had more run-ins with the triplets than I'd had in the last six years. My resolve hardened as I remembered their treatment of me. I hate them, I reminded myself as I looked at Noah. "Oh you're awake Tills," I looked over at Jamie, who was rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "You've been out for days." "Don't call me that," I said harshly, unable to stop myself, "only my friends call me Tills." My gaze hardened further and I refused to make eye contact with them. It was like the bloody twilight zone in here, why were they being so nice to me and where was I? Noah looked at me sadly, about to say something when the door opened and a doctor walked in. "Ottilie," she said kindly, "I'm so glad you're awake, you gave us all quite a scare." Tears stung my eyes, nobody, apart from Lily had spoken to me nicely in six years. Not even my teachers at school. "Where am I and what happened?" You were knocked out silly, are those our mates, they are hot! A voice inside my head said making me jump. Who was that? I looked around the room, there wasn't anyone else there. Ariana, lovely to meet you, I've been waiting such a long time! Oh my goddess, it was my wolf. I finally had my wolf! My insides jumped for joy, I wasn't wolfless after all! The relief that washed over me was palpable. "Urm, Ottilie?" I looked up to see all three of them staring at me. "Sorry," I mumbled, "Zoned out a bit there, what were you saying?" Have to watch that, don't want people thinking you're away with the fairies. I tried to keep a straight face. The doctor smiled at me again, "It's ok, you've been through a lot, you're in the pack hospital darling, your body was extremely malnourished, and you fainted from exhaustion." I panicked and tried to sit up, "The pack hospital? I can't be here, I'll get in trouble," I said and started trying to pull the various wires off my body. "It's fine," said Jamie firmly, "I've handled it." "But Alpha Marcus and Luna Maria..." I started before Jamie raised his hand. "It's handled," said Jamie, "trust me." Before I could help myself, I scoffed, trust him, what an absolute joke. I trusted him six years ago and look where that got me. Jamie's eyes darkened and Noah looked at me, amused. To my surprise he didn't say anything though. Instead he turned back to the doctor, Louise I think it said on her badge, her long blonde hair was covering it. "When can she leave?" He asked directly. Of course, they wanted me to get back to work. Not to mention this was costing them money. All pack hospitals were private and cost a pretty penny. The Silver Fang pack was one of the wealthier packs but still, they wouldn't want to pay for the medical expenses of a traitor's daughter. "Today, her vitals are good and she's recovered from her injuries. In fact her nose seems completely healed now, “I wouldn't have expected this from someone that doesn't have a wolf," she came closer and sniffed the air, "unless..." she looked at me intensely. "Ottilie darling, have you got your wolf?" "Urm, I mean, I think so." I mumbled, "I dreamt of her and now she's talking to me, she won't stop talking actually, it's making it pretty hard to concentrate." The cheek! Said Ariana inside my head, fine I'll shut up and she retreated the corner of my mind. Noah and Jamie looked at me in shock, being wolfless was extremely rare which is why I stood out like a sore thumb. It was kind of a relief to know I was at least semi-normal. Still the daughter of a traitor but at least I had a wolf. "Oh that's fabulous news," Louise beamed, "I'm so pleased, that will make the healing process much easier. “Now," she added, turning to the Alpha's, "Ottilie needs rest, no work for at least a fortnight, regular meals please and she must have peace. Can you promise me that you can do that for her? Otherwise I have to insist that she stays here." Noah and Jamie nodded at her furiously. "Yes Doctor" they said in unison. "What about school?" I asked quickly. I loved school, well I hated the other students but I loved school work and the thought that I'd missed so much was already filling me with panic, school was my ticket out of the pack. "Sure, you need to be careful though, no sport or training." That was fine, as a lowly Omega slave I wasn't allowed to train anyway and I was useless at all sports. No work, sport and proper meals? Goddess I had no idea what was going on but I was going to go with it. "I'll get the paperwork ready and then you're free to go," she said, unhooking me from the various machines I was plugged in to. "Thank you Doctor," I said smiling at one of the only people to show me any kindness in years. "No problem, it's what I'm here for and remember, you must come back if you get injured again or start feeling sick." She looked at me intently waiting until I nodded before she left the room. I sat up and pulled the covers off me, swinging my legs over. Feeling a cool breeze on my skin, I looked down and realised I was wearing just a bra and knickers. Yelping I pulled the sheet back over me and looked up into the swirling black eyes of the Alpha's. "Urm, can you pass me my dress please?" I muttered, hating that I had to ask them for anything. "We had to cut it off." said Noah, swallowing as he lifted his gaze from my chest to my face, "Harry's bringing you some things, he'll be here in a few minutes. His eyes glazed over as he mind linked someone, presumably Harry. Interesting, even though they hadn't shifted yet they could mindlink each other. It must be a triplet thing. "Great," I huffed, the one dress I had cut to shreds. I sat back and stared mutinously at the ceiling. Today was getting weirder and weirder. Not only did I have a wolf but the triplets were waiting on me hand and foot. This was all totally bizarre.
