“Uhm why are you laughing? Do you really find this situation a hilarious thing?” Kassandre said offended being laughed at staring daggers on the direction where Draco’s sound of laugh can be heard. “You know what? I even don’t know why I followed you, I’m leaving here——“ she added but before Kassandre could finish her senteced off she went silence as she heard a ferocious growl coming from just behind. “WHAT.WAS.THAT?!” She said, shrieking while gripping right away Draco’s arm and shielding herself on his tall figure from the unknown creature.
“And this is why I told you to be quiet a while ago.” He said in a hush tone. “From my guess that could be a wolf, we are in a tight situation. Even if I will fight, there could be no use of it because I can’t see from the too much darkness in the cave so in the count of three, let’s run.”
“Wait—what are you saying?” She asked in a panic, horror-struck on what she’ve just heard from him as she pressed her hand more for a tight grip on his arm.
“I said let’s run,” He said once again but now in a raspy breath as they tried not to reveal themselves, trying to hide from the wolf who’s now doing a ferocious growl. “Not unless if you wanted to be their meal.” He added.
“Who’s dumb would want that anyway?” She asked as her brows furrowed in irritation and confusion.
“Not me, maybe you.”
Disbelief of his words she gasped as she felt insulted and exclaimed. “Excuse me?!——oh uhm sorry SIR if you are such a brilliant and intelligent guy around here then might as well you haven’t trapped us inside this cave where danger lurks in any moment.”
“Not might fault of us facing the danger right now even after I told you to be quiet.”
“Argh! Can’t we just please prioritize our situation right now?!” She said in an exasperated tone.
“One—“
“Listen I’m in gown, I cannot run that fast—“
“Two—“
“Hey wait hold up!”
“Three——“ and with that last thing he whispered he snatched my hand and gripped it tightly as he dragged me along more in the depths of the cave, with the loud growl behind our back chasing us as we ran for our lives.
As we took a fast stride, I wince in pain as I felt a sharp sendation on my feet when I began to tumble in the rocks also wounding my hand in preventing myself from the impact of my fall towards the sharp stone.
“Here, let me help you.” Draco said as he ushered himself upon picking me up, scooping me in his warm arms. And with that, we began to ran once more
“The wolf is closing up right behind us hurry!!!” I said frantically.
In a second the inside of the cave enlightens on where we are heading to as the light of the outside peek the exit of the cave’s mouth. “The exit!” I exclaimed as I pointed my finger on the direction where it is brimming in blinding light.
“Hang on, hold on to me tightly we’re almost there.” And with that last thing he said, the light blinded my sight.
Adjusting my eyes so I can see my surroundings, I was greeted by Draco’s face shoved in front of me with a worry look. “Are you alright?” He asked, deliberately aiding me to stand up with his other hand supporting my waist as he led me to sit under a tree just ahead of us.
“Yes, I just need to sit down.“ I said, wryly while massaging my temples as I felt a migraine approaching. My gown was drenched, because of the non-stop rain that is pouring heavily making the cloth of my gown cling so much on my body showing my delicate curves in his sight. “How about the wolf?” I asked as soon as I gathered my wits.
“That creature who’s chasing us was a spirit of that cave. He is bound in that place and cannot chase us any longer. He thought we were there to get his treasure.” He said and then took a sit beside me..
“What treasure?” She asked as she stared blankly in the sky feeling the drops of the rain as it damps in her face.
“An ancient sword is sealed in the heart of the cave for over a thousand years. A treasure kept hidden until the sole owner recognize its possession thus only in that way the power of the sword will be awakened.” He said as he reluctantly told her, trying to avert her curious gaze as her eyes staring intently at him.
“Then does the owner recognize its possession as of today?” Asking that, his eyes stared on my direction as he tried to look at me even in amidst of the heavy rain pouring down onto us.
“Nay, but soon she will.”
