Chapter 4 After leaving the pub Frank headed over to the family house in Islington and slipped through the front door, immediately hearing the excited patter of feet. Zak appeared, peeping around the kitchen door, and Frank crouched, giving him a broad smile. “Hey, little man.” Zak’s face broke into a delighted grin and he ran to his father who scooped him up with his hands, holding him high over his head. Frank screwed up his face in a mock grimace that always delighted the boy. “Back here!” It was Maria shouting from behind the door. Frank carried his second son through the corridor to the back of the house.
