Warrick's P.O.V.
I stare at my beautiful mate, as she stares back at me with disgust. I have no idea what is going on right now, but what I do know, is that Tucker, Chadwick and Zedidiah are all on edge in my head. Obviously, I'm in some type of cell right now. What I don't understand, though, is if this group of teenagers meant to trap me in particular. I use the term, trap, very lightly, seeing as I'm almost one hundred percent sure that I can't be contained in something so simple.
I furrow my brows in confusion as I look from my mate, to the others surrounding her, "What the hell is going on?"
My mate lets out a sinister chuckle as she slowly starts pacing back and forth in front of the silver bars, "You're Athena and Callan Anderson's oldest pup. Am I right?" she asks as she stops in the center of everyone again, before looking back at me with a wicked smirk, "Athena, the great and amazing guardian of the supernatural world, that everyone likes to talk about? Callan, the famous werewolf who came out of nowhere and claimed his rightful spot as Alpha of River Crescent, before somehow transitioning into a tribrid after being marked by his mate?"
I let out a threatening growl, after hearing the tone in her voice when she talks about my parents, before slowly nodding my head, "It seems that there's no need for me to confirm it, seeing as I can tell that you already know the answer to that. So, if you don't mind me asking again, what the hell is going on?"
My mate chuckles lowly, before squinting her eyes at me, "What's going on, is that your parents' past is coming back to haunt you, Warrick. They're going to pay for everything they did to our parents during the war; for killing our fathers and taking our mothers wolves and magic away while they were pregnant with us. You see, not only did we never know our fathers growing up, but us werewolves had to grow up with wolfless mothers, while the witches and warlocks here had to grow up with magicless mothers. Then, when all of us turned thirteen and gained our wolves or our magic, our mothers died as well, like our fathers. They turned to dust right in front of us, which I'm sure sounds familiar to you. It's what happened to all of your parents' enemies during the supernatural war, am I right?" she explains to me as she clenches her jaw shut, before letting out an amused snort, "The fact that you're my fated mate is just the icing on the cake. I must say, I was surprised to find out that you were my mate today, because that definitely wasn't part of the plan. Although, I can't say that it upsets me, because it just made everything that much easier. We were just planning on capturing your mother, but you came willingly when you started chasing after me. Besides, I know how important a pup is to their mother, so I feel like you being taken would torture her more, anyway. Not to mention, you're the future alpha of your pack. So, your absence will affect everyone, not just your mother."
I chuckle at her as I shake my head and look down at the ground, before looking back at her and giving her a smirk, "You really think all of this is going to contain me?" I ask her as I motion my hands to the room around me, "You do realize that I'm the first full-blooded tribrid heir that was born from two tribrid's, right? I'm more powerful than both my mother and my father."
She mirrors my smirk as she crosses her arms over her chest, "Have you even tried escaping from the cell, Warrick? You'd be surprised at how much we know about your family and how long we've been planning this."
"Now, why would I try to escape when I'm in the presence of my lovely mate? I couldn't imagine being anywhere else than with the woman The Moon Goddess blessed me with." I say to her as I give her a wide grin, "If only I knew your name. Surely, it's just as beautiful as you are."
She growls at me as her shoulders tense, before turning around and stomping out of the room with all of the others following after her. I chuckle as I watch her walk out, before letting out a small sigh as her delicious scent fades from the room. I scrub my hands against my face in frustration, before looking around the room and inspecting it.
"So what do you guys think? Should we try to escape, or should we try to bond with our mate?" I ask Tucker, Chadwick and Zedidiah, as I look around the dark room.
Tucker whimpers in my head, "Our mate hates us."
"She's just angry about what happened during the war, Tuck. Everyone that my parents defeated during the war were bad people. If I had to guess, her and the others that are with her have only heard their mothers' sides of the story. They made mom and dad seem like some power-hungry, horrible people, rather than telling them the truth of what happened. You can't blame them for hating us, after being raised to hate us and losing their parents because of the war." I explain to him as I try to reassure him.
"I don't know, Warrick. I'm almost thinking that it would just be better to kill them all and find a chosen mate to become luna. There's plenty of nice she-wolves around the pack that would make a great luna." Zedidiah says to me as he lets out a small sigh.
I growl lowly at him in frustration, "I don't want a regular she-wolf from the pack, Zed. Our whole lives we've wanted our fated mate to be someone who challenges us. Well, we definitely got one that fits that criteria. I don't think The Moon Goddess could've blessed us with a mate who is more challenging than her."
"Um, I hate to break up this conversation about our lovely mate, Warrick, but I have some bad news." Chadwick says to me with worry in his voice, "It doesn't matter whether you choose to bond with her or choose to escape anyway, because we aren't getting out of this cell."
I stop looking around the cell as my body tenses up at his words, "What are you talking about, Chadwick?"
"Well, while you three were paying attention to our mate and her spitting out her hatred for our family. I was paying attention to how this cell is built. I must say, if we weren't trapped, I'd be very impressed with the manufacturing of it. It seems that not only are the bars made of silver, but the walls, ceilings and floors are reinforced with it as well, along with Wolfsbane. Which means that you can only talk to Tucker, that's it. Same goes for Zed, since this room is reinforced with vervain too. Then, there's some type of black magic containment spell that subdues my powers. It usually takes a very powerful dark witch, like Lillith, to pull off a containment spell like this. However, I saw thirteen witches and warlock's in that group that was in here only moments ago. If they all practice dark magic, which I'm assuming they do since they're orphaned, vengeful outcasts', then I know which spell they used to pull it off." he explains to me with defeat in his voice.
I furrow my brows as I listen to him, "Okay, so we will just break the containment spell somehow. Surely you can break it, Chadwick, since you're so powerful."
"It's not that easy, Warrick. This particular spell calls for EXACTLY thirteen dark magic coven members to perform it, if they haven't been practicing for a long time, like Lillith. It's a very old spell that even I'm not too familiar with. Not to mention, even if I could break the spell on my own, I would have to draw all of my power from a giant lightening storm, since I can't use Zedidiah to fuel my magic with him being subdued." he explains to me, before sitting down in my mind, "I'm not even sure how they found a spell this old. It's almost unheard of anymore."
I let out a frustrated sigh as I start pacing back and forth in the cell, "So, you're telling me that we're ACTUALLY trapped here? Like, there's no way we can get out, whatsoever?"
"That's exactly what I'm saying." Chadwick says to me as he lets out a frustrated sigh, as well.
"Lovely." I say to him as I look around the dark room, "Well, I guess we will just try to bond with our infuriating little mate, then."
"But she hates us." Tucker whimpers out again as he lays his head on his paws.
"Have a little faith in The Moon Goddess, Tuck. She knows what she's doing when she matches mates together. We're her mate for a reason. Everything will work out. We just can't give up on her, no matter how long it takes." I tell him as I look towards the door that our mate walked out of earlier, before crossing my arms over my chest and smiling.
