Rejection

1681 Words
Warrick's P.O.V. It's been four days since I've been here, I'm pretty sure. There's no light coming into the room, so I'm still not even sure exactly how long it's been. The only way I can tell how long I've been here is by the amount of food they bring me. However, I'm not even sure if they're feeding me three regular meals a day, at this point. I've been sleeping in between meals, so they could've skipped some, meaning I could've been here a week by now. I haven't seen my mate since the first day. Everytime someone brings me food and I ask where she is, they just stare at me with disgust for a few seconds before walking back out. Even though I'm trapped, my strength seems fine. I guess that's the upside of being a tribrid, the fact that it's hard to hurt or kill me. The smell in the room, along with the darkness of it, is making me go insane though, which is why I'm so desperate to see my mate right now. Sure, I would love a moment to try and bond with her, but even her scent would give me some peace at this point, even if she doesn't talk to me. The door clangs open as someone walks into the room on the other side of the cell, "Foods here." they say as they set it down on the ground and slide it under the silver bars with their foot. I walk up to the bars and stare at the person on the other side, "Where's my mate? I want to see her. I need more answers." Just like always, they only stare at me and give me a sinister smirk, before walking back out of the room. I let out a frustrated sigh, before looking down at the tray of food on the ground. Bland oatmeal, one link of sausage, a boiled egg and a glass of water, meaning it's the fifth breakfast I've had and I'm probably on my fifth day here, rather than my fourth. I let out an angry growl as I hit my fists on the cell bars, before quickly pulling my hands away when I realize the silver is burning me. I've never been burned by silver before. Then again, my vampire has never been surrounded by vervain and has always been able to heal me quickly. All three of my counterparts work together to protect me. Never have they all been subdued by being surrounded by their different types of kryptonite at the same time. I look around the cell again as I ignore the food on the ground. I must admit, this cell is absolutely genius. Whoever thought of it, is a very intelligent person. If they figured out how to make this cell and know so much about my family, then surely they know they can't kill me without killing themselves in the process. It's probably why I'm still alive, if I had to guess. I look back at the tray of food and scrunch my nose at it. They serve me the same thing every single day. It's definitely not enough food for an alpha tribrid to be satisfied with, but it's enough to keep me from starving. The doors of the room clang open again as the scent of sweet caramel fills the room, "Are you not happy with your meals, Warrick? My pack members have been very hospitable towards you. It's rude not to eat the food that they bring you." she says to me as she stands on the other side of the silver bars with her arms crossed. I look up at her without replying to her. Her hair falls around her face on one side in soft auburn waves, while the other side is pulled back into three tight braids, making her look edgy. Her hazel eyes are staring back at me piercingly, the color of them accentuated by the eyeliner that surrounds them. She's tall, very tall. There's a scar on the corner of her upper lip that I suddenly notice when she smirks at me, a scar that I didn't notice the first day that I saw her. "Not talking to me now? You were so adamant about wooing me the other day. Did you finally figure out that The Moon Goddess messed up when it came to pairing you with your perfect mate?" she asks me as she chuckles lowly at me. I chuckle back at her as I shove my hands into my pockets, "The Moon Goddess gave me exactly the mate that I asked her for. She didn't mess up. I promise you that." Her face flashes with surprise, before she furrows her brows at me, "Oh really? And exactly what type of mate would that be?" I smile at her as I slowly walk towards her, "Strong. Resilient. Arrogant. Stubborn. Smart." I tell her, before stopping right in front of the silver bars only inches away from her, "Someone who would make me chase them, rather than giving into the mate-bond right away. Someone who doesn't give a crap about my alpha title, or who my parents are." She lets out a small snort as she chews on the inside of her cheek, before letting out an irritated sigh, "I think The Moon Goddess went a little overboard with your request, Warrick. You're right, I'm not the type of she-wolf to give into the mate-bond right away, or ever for that matter. So, you can chase me all you want, but it's never going to happen. As far as giving you someone who doesn't give a crap about your alpha title or who your parents are, I'm assuming you're talking about wanting a mate who will love you for you, rather than using you for your rank?" I nod my head at her, "That's exactly what I mean." "Well, you got what you wanted with that, as well, because I don't care about using you for your rank. When it comes to not caring about your alpha title or who your parents are, The Moon Goddess was definitely off on that one. I care a great deal about both of those things. However, it's not to use them to up my status in the supernatural community, like other she-wolves would. It's to use it to my advantage to seek my revenge." she says as she glares at me. I smile softly at her, "What do I smell like to you?" Her eyes widen in surprise at my question, "Wha...what are...what do you mean?" she stutters out. I chuckle at her, "What do I smell like to you? You smell like sweet caramel to me. It's my favorite smell in the entire world. That smell has always comforted me. Which makes sense as to why it's the scent of my mate." She squints her eyes at me in irritation, "You don't smell like anything to me. You actually smell quite disgusting, since you haven't had a shower in five days." "Well, I can't exactly help that, now can I?" I ask her as I chuckle, before smiling softly at her, "However, I know that you're lying to me. If I smelled so disgusting to you, you wouldn't be standing so closely to me right now. All of the others that have came in here have kept their distance from me, and some have even cringed in disgust when walking into the room. Not you, though. So, tell me, what do I smell like to you?" She continues to glare at me for a few seconds, before letting out an angry growl, "I, Alpha Elizabeth Rosetti of The Fogotten Pack, reject you, Future Alpha Warrick Anderson of The River Crescent Pack, as my mate." Tucker whimpers in my head at the rejection of our mate, but I ignore him as I smirk at her, "I do not accept your rejection, Alpha Elizabeth Rosetti." I say as I stare at her, before quickly reaching through the silver bars and grabbing her arms and pulling her closer to me, "Besides, you didn't even say the rejection properly." The silver bars burn at my skin, but I don't even notice, because I'm only focused on the sparks from the mate-bond shooting through my body at our sudden contact. She looks down at my hands with wide eyes, before quickly pushing me off of her and backing away from me. I take a couple of steps back, as well, as I continue to stare at her with a smirk. She's breathing heavily as she looks down at her arms, before looking back up at me. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN I DIDN'T SAY THE REJECTION PROPERLY?!" she screams out at me as she stares at me with wide eyes. I chuckle at her, "I mean exactly what I said. You didn't say it properly." "SO TELL ME THE PROPER WAY TO SAY IT!" she yells out frantically. "Now, why would I do that? Besides, even if you eventually figure it out, I'll never accept the rejection." I tell her as I cross my arms over my chest defiantly. She lets out a growl of frustration, before turning around and stomping towards the door, "You're impossible. I hate you!" she screams as she walks away from me. I chuckle at her as I watch her walk away, "You know, I was right, by the way." She stops at the door and slowly turns to glare at me, "What are you talking about?" "Your name, Elizabeth. I was right about it being just as beautiful as you are." I tell her with a soft smile. I see a flicker of adoration cross her face for only a split second, before it's gone again and is replaced with a scowl, "Eat your food. I'll get someone to bring you something to bathe with. Like I said, you smell disgusting." she spits out at me through gritted teeth, before turning around and walking out of the door and slamming it behind her.
