Warrick's P.O.V.
Everyone goes quiet the second the words leave Delilah's mouth, and whatever conversation we were having before that moment is suddenly forgotten. Delilah walks up to me and grabs my hand, before quickly pulling me over to my desk chair and frantically pushing my shoulders down, forcing me to sit in it. She begins to pace back and forth in front of me, clearly trying to collect her thoughts before she says anything. I wait patiently, knowing that Delilah is always a 'to the point' type of person and likes to have her thoughts in order, before actually saying them out loud.
"This might actually work." she whispers to herself, before finally turning towards me and furrowing her brows at me in concern, "What are you willing to lose to rescue Lizzie, though?"
I get irritated at her question, because I know without a doubt that there's nothing more important than Elizabeth. In her defense, though, there are wolves who are selfish and reject their mates for stupid reasons. This thought quickly calms me, but just as quickly as I calm down, my stomach just as quickly drops in panic, because I know there's a reason she's asking me this, and it must be serious.
I ignore her question and ask one of my own instead, "What was your dream about, Delilah? Just tell me."
Delilah lets out a soft sigh, before looking back at me with soft eyes, "There's a way to save all of them, Warrick. A way for everyone to willingly join River Crescent without putting up a fight, but it's going to come at a major cost to you, and I'm not positive that you'd be willing to give it up."
"What is the cost, Delilah?" my mom sternly asks from the doorway, as she walks towards Delilah.
Delilah tenses at my mother's tone, but she relaxes the second my mom places a gentle hand on her shoulder.
Delilah looks between my mother and I, before her eyes finally land on me, "You'll lose your direct link to The Moon Goddess, Warrick."
"What are you talking about? Why would anything we do cause me to lose my direct link to The Moon Goddess?" I ask her, my curiosity peaking more than anything now.
Delilah nods at me and straightens her shoulders, preparing to explain herself, "Have you ever wondered why YOU were chosen to have a direct link to The Moon Goddess, yet none of your siblings have that ability? I mean, all of you have the same DNA. All of you have the same abilities. Yet, you are the only one that is capable of speaking to her whenever you want."
I think about it for a moment, before shrugging my shoulders, "I'm not really sure. I've always thought it was because I was the first born and the future Alpha, so she gave it to me to benefit the pack."
Delilah nods her head, "Did you ever use your link with her to actually benefit your pack though, Warrick?"
I think about it for a moment, before shrugging my shoulders, "Not really. I mean, the most I've ever communicated with her was when I was communicating with you guys and Elizabeth."
"Exactly!" she says in exasperation, like I'm missing the point, "That gift wasn't meant for The Silver Crescent Pack, Warrick. That gift was meant for our pack and to show us the way. The Moon Goddess knows what the future holds, so she knew that you were going to need that link to be able to let us communicate with our parents."
I let out a small sigh as I run my hand through my hair, "I mean, that makes sense, Delilah, but I'm only able to have that link with her for a short period of time. Not to mention, besides Elizabeth, no one else in your pack wants anything to do with my powers. They don't trust me enough."
A knowing grin spreads across Delilah's face, "That was before you were able to tap into your tribrid aura, though."
"What does that have to do with anything? Just because he's fully transitioned into a tribrid alpha doesn't mean that they'll believe him. I mean, yeah, he can forcefully make them listen to him, but they'll just hate him more if he does that, and trust him less." Sylvia explains as she steps forward.
"I never said anything about forcefully making them LISTEN to him." Delilah explains to Sylvia, before turning back to me, "My dream was about you completely showing them everything."
"What do you mean?" I ask her.
"I dreamed of The Moon Goddess, of her showing me how to get Elizabeth back. It was a full moon. In fact, a blood moon, which is actually what's happening in five days. It was like her and I were floating above everyone else, watching it happen. We were in a field, and it was dark outside, the blood moon high in the sky. Maybe midnight? Your mom, dad, Sylvia, and a bunch of others were in the woods behind the field holding hands, drawing power from the moon, chanting. You were in the middle of the field, waiting for our entire pack to show up. When they did, before anyone could try to even attack you, you just transported everyone to what looked like another realm. It was bright, butterflies fluttering and pups playing everywhere, tall grass swaying in the breeze. All around us were a bunch of people, but I saw my mom there. I only saw her for a split second, though, before I was pulled away and woken up from the dream." She explains, before shuffling back and forth on her feet nervously, "When I woke up, I saw a translucent figure of The Moon Goddess at the end of my bed. She told me you have to be willing to go above and beyond for the lost souls, to be the alpha that you were born to be, even when it means losing your link with Her after all of these years."
I stare at her with wide eyes, unable to say anything, before my mom suddenly steps up to her and places a hand gently on her shoulder, "Delilah, honey, I don't think that you had a dream. I think what that was, was a vision of some sort."
Delilah spins around to look at her, "What do you mean? I've never had a vision before."
My mom nods her head at her as she gently smiles, "But you're a River Crescent wolf now. Not officially yet, but in your heart. You've already accepted our pack as your home and family, and accepted Warrick as your alpha. The thing about our pack, is that every single one of our pack members has some sort of special ability. Yours must be the power of foresight, or of visions or a median for spirits. I'm not really sure, because honestly, it sounded like you had all three in this vision of yours."
"It's true. Anna and Damien had powers of their own before officially joining our pack right before the war, because The Moon Goddess knew that River Crescent was where they were meant to be. Their powers helped lead them to us and lead them to safety, even bring them together with their mates." my dad explains as he walks up beside my mom and wraps his arms around her.
"I believe you guys, but what I don't understand is what it all means." she says, before looking back at me, "Are you able to transport people to The Moon Goddess' realm, Warrick? You never mentioned being able to do that before."
I look around the room, panic starting to rise in my chest, "I...I'm not sure. I've never tried it before. But I also hadn't fully transitioned until only a few minutes ago." I say as I stand up, before shrugging my shoulders, "Let's find out, though." I tell everyone, before quickly grabbing on to Zeke.
A loud swooshing noise and a blinding white light is all I hear and see, before I fall into tall grass with the sun shining brightly down on me. I can hear Zeke on my left, groaning in pain, before he leans over and punches me in the arm.
"What the hell, Warrick?! You could've warned me before doing something weird, before using me as some sort of science experiment." he says as he slowly sits up and looks around, his eyes suddenly going wide, "Whoa."
I quickly sit up and look around, as well. I've seen the other realm before, but it's never been this clear. It's always felt like some sort of dream or vision, never like real life. I can hear pups screaming and laughing all around us, butterflies and dragonflies zoom and flutter by. It takes me a moment to take it all in, because I can actually feel a sense of peace being here, rather than a sense of confusion like I have in the past when I've visited Selene, looking for answers for something.
"So I see Delilah got my message to you." I hear her say, making a wide grin spread across my face.
I quickly stand up, as Zeke jumps up from beside me, startled by Selene's sudden appearance, "Didn't take her long to repeat what I had to say, did it?"
"Yeah, Delilah is the type to get things done pretty fast." I tell her, before looking over at Zeke.
His eyes are wide as he stares at her, before he steps forward a couple of steps, "Are...are you..."
"The Moon Goddess? Yes, Zeke." She laughs, before looking off into the distance, "Your parents want to talk to you while you're still here." she says, before pointing into the distance.
I look over and see a small woman with golden blonde hair blowing in the wind, who's standing beside a man that looks almost exactly like Zeke. He looks over, as well, completely dazed for a moment, before tears start to fall down his face.
"Can I talk to them? Can I hug them?" Zeke asks as he looks back at Selene.
"You can do anything you want with the time that you have. Remember, though, this will be your last time to see them until you are in my realm for eternity. So, make it last. I'm going to chat with Warrick while you have some time alone with them. You'll know when it's time to go, they'll tell you." She explains, before giving him a soft smile.
Zeke slowly nods his head, before taking off running to what I'm assuming is his parents.
I look back at Selene, "So, it's true. You gave me this ability to be able to use it for all of the orphans."
Selene nods her head, "I knew that some day you would be reconnected with all of the lost children, and I knew they would need some type of closure to be able to move on with their lives. However, the power is so strong that only a tribrid can handle it. It drains your life source, which is why you and Zeke cannot stay here for very long. You're not meant to be in this realm. On the night of the blood moon is when your powers will be at their peak. Anyone in your pack that has magical powers will need to be channeling their energy into you, for you to be able to transport that many living souls to this realm. That's why Delilah saw them chanting in the woods. However, all of that energy being channeled through you, this power draining your life source, it will take away your direct link with me. It'll be gone forever. Also, if you're not careful and stay here too long, you could drain your life source all together, Warrick. You need to understand that when you feel it in your soul that it's time to go back to the living realm, you all need to go. It doesn't matter if you have some of them wanting to stay with their parents, you need to go, or you will die. Promise me that you'll go and not give in to them wanting to stay here for even a second longer. You're meant to be in the living realm, all of you, but especially you. The living world needs you as an alpha. You have great things in your future that you don't even know about yet."
I nod my head at her, before turning to look at Zeke, "I can already feel Zeke's time with his parents coming to an end right now." I say, before looking back at Her.
She nods her head at me and softly smiles, "Yes, the time is almost up. Please channel energy from nature around you in the days to come, so your powers are completely heightened when the blood moon approaches. You'll need every magical creature in your pack and any other pack or coven that you know, to be channeling their powers into you that night. Also, do not bring Zeke back the second time. He is not meant to be here, and this trip is going to take a toll on his body in the days to come. He cannot come back again. His mate and his pup need him now, and the past needs to be left exactly where it's meant to be, in the past." she says, before looking over at Zeke, "Now, go Warrick, before it's too late."
I nod my head at her in understanding, before running over to Zeke, who is now hugging his mom and dad goodbye. Tears are falling down all of their faces as they tell each other that they love one another.
He looks over at me, before looking back at them, "They told me it was time to go."
"It is." I tell him, before grabbing onto him, the two of us suddenly being pulled and forced back through time and worlds.
