Tribrid Aura

Warrick's P.O.V. Two days. It's been two days since we escaped and left Elizabeth behind. I think I've maybe only slept a total of four hours, give or take, in the past forty-eight. Just like right now, it's three in the morning and the packhouse is as quiet as can be, yet I'm staring at my dark ceiling with my eyes wide open. I let out a frustrated groan and flip over to my side, before staring out of the window at the moon in the sky. There's five days until the next full moon, and I want to get Elizabeth back and bring her to River Crescent before then. There's no telling what will happen to her while she's being held prisoner and surrounded by a bunch of raged-out werewolves. A soft knock taps against my door, making me quickly sit up in bed and walk over to it. I c***k it open a small bit, only to reveal Zeke standing there looking defeated. I open the door wide for him and motion for him to come inside without saying a word. Zeke slowly walks in, with his shoulders slumped and his hands shoved into the packets of his pajama pants. He almost looks just as defeated as I am. Zeke surveys the room, before turning to me and letting out a small sigh, "We need to get Elizabeth, Warrick. I know that your mom and dad told us to wait, but I don't agree with them. Something just doesn't feel right." I furrow my brows at him, "You have that feeling too? I thought it was just because she's my mate and we're separated from one another right now." He shakes his head at me as he looks out of my window at the moon in the sky, "She might be your mate, Warrick, but she's still my alpha. I can tell when something is wrong with her. We still have that connection with one another." I nod my head at him as he looks back at me with worried eyes, "I don't know what to do without hurting members of your guys' pack, Zeke. If I go in there and they're hurting her in some way, which I'm sure they are, because I've felt it, then I won't hesitate to have Silver Crescent warriors kill them all. It's taking everything in me not to go there right now and take an army with me. The only reason I haven't is because I know that whatever they're doing isn't that bad. The pain I've felt through our bond is minor. I don't know Elizabeth well, but from what I've seen from her, she'd rather deal with a little pain rather than her entire pack being slaughtered." Zeke lets out a painful groan as he roughly brushes his hand down his face, before looking at me with determined eyes, "Send me back. I can get her out of there. I can take on Carter and Justin." "What?! No way am I sending you back on your own! Then I'd have both of you stuck there! It's not only Justin and Carter that I'm worried about, Zeke! You have witches in your pack, too! There's no telling what you'd be walking into! You might get there and find that the entire pack has been brainwashed by those two psychos, and they end up killing you on the spot with no hesitation, whatsoever!" I yell out at him as I pace around the room, before looking at him with a stern expression, "You are not to go back to that packhouse, Zeke! Do you understand me?! Even when I go back with Silver Crescent wolves, you are to stay here. You have a pregnant mate that needs you, and I'm not risking something happening to you. You and Delilah will stay here where it's safe when the time comes." His eyes widen in rage at what I'm saying, "ARE YOU SERIOUS, WARRICK?! This is LIZZIE we're talking about! This is MY PACK that we're talking about! I might be a Silver Crescent wolf now, but these are my brother and sisters, and they need me! Not to mention, I'm YOUR...FUTURE...GAMMA!" Rage courses through me the second he starts yelling and defying me, "AND AS YOUR ALPHA, I'M COMMANDING YOU TO STAY HERE ON SILVER CRESCENT TERRITORY! YOU ARE TO STAY HERE AND PROTECT THE REST OF THE PACK FROM ANY OTHER THREATS THAT MIGHT BE LINGERING BEYOND OUR TERRITORY! YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN WHILE ME, MY MOM AND DAD, AND SYLVIA ARE GONE! IT'S YOUR DUTY, AS MY FUTURE GAMMA, TO BE IN CHARGE OF THIS PACK WHILE THE REST OF US ARE AWAY! THIS ISN'T A DEBATE, GAMMA ZEKE!" By the time I'm done yelling at him, Zeke is crouched down on the ground with his neck bared to me. My chest rises and falls rapidly, before I take a deep and steadying breath to calm myself. Zeke slowly looks up at me with wide eyes, before I look away from him and around the room, suddenly taking in the scene around me. Pictures have fallen off of the walls, a standing mirror is cracked in the corner, and a lamp is shattered on the ground. I look back at Zeke, who is now looking back at me with a wide smile as he continues to bow before me, "Congratulations, Warrick." I furrow my brows at him in confusion, "What..." I start to ask, before the sound of quick footsteps running down the hallway catches my attention. A second later, my door is violently swung open, before my mom and dad run into the room, Delilah and a few others following behind them. They all stare at me with wide eyes, before quietly surveying the room, as well. "Well...it's about damn time, baby boy Warrick. I thought your balls were never going to drop." Uncle Gavin says with a chuckle. My mom turns around and swats him in the shoulder, "Gavin, shut up! Why do you have to be so crude?!" "What the hell, Athena?!" Uncle Gavin asks with a chuckle as he rubs his shoulder, "He's a man now! One of the guys! I can be crude in front of him as much as I want!" "And Sylvia?! What about her?! You're a grown man talking about balls in front of the kids!" she says as she motions her hand towards Sylvia in the hallway, who's trying everything in her power not to laugh at the two of them. Uncle Gavin looks back at Sylvia, before looking at my mom and rolling his eyes, "Have you MET, Sylvia?! The girl cusses like a sailor and has a cruder sense of humor than most of the teenage guys in this pack! Just yesterday, I overheard her talking on the phone to..." "...OKAY, THAT'S ENOUGH, UNCLE GAVIN!" Sylvia quickly interrupts as tugs him into the hallway, before her cheeks start to flush red. Uncle Sean looks between Gavin and Sylvia, before his eyes finally land on Sylv, "What's he talking about, Sylvia? Who were you on the phone with, and what were you saying?" Uncle Sean asks, his voice taking on that stern dad voice suddenly. I put my hand over my mouth to hide the laughter that's escaping, as I watch Sylvia's eyes widen in horror. I know exactly who she was talking to and exactly what they were talking about, because I overheard it too. I mean, who can blame her. Sylvia finally found out who her mate is. I'd be talking to Elizabeth the same way if I could. However, I don't think Uncle Sean is going to see it that way, seeing as he still sees her as his little girl. He always has and probably always will. I decide to help my best friend out this time, since the panicked look on her face is even making me uncomfortable right now, "She was talking to me Uncle Sean." His hardened gaze turns to me, and even with me being the future alpha, his death glare has my throat suddenly going dry, "Oh, really? And what exactly were you talking to my little girl about, Warrick? Must've been interesting if Gavin's dirty mind was so interested in it." I look back at Sylvia, only to see her shuffling back on her feet nervously, before turning my gaze back to Uncle Sean, "We weren't really talking about anything crude to each other. I was just talking about what I was going to do with Elizabeth once I finally got her back into my arms. Sylvia was making fun of me like she usually does when I'm being whiny about something. She was just mocking me and repeating what I was saying is all. It's no big deal." Uncle Sean glares at me for a few seconds longer, before turning to Sylvia, "Is this true?" Uncle Gavin steps forward to say something, but at the last second I shoot him a look of warning, which makes him bare his neck at me and take a step back into the hallway. What the hell? Since when can I make Uncle Gavin, of all people, back down? "Yes, it's true. I'm sorry, dad." Sylvia says to him as she twirls her hair around her finger nervously and looks up at him through her lashes. That look. She's always gotten her way with him with that look. I've seen it since I was a toddler. You'd think with him being a big, bad beta, that he'd be able to tell when he was being played. However, that's never been the case between Uncle Sean and Sylvia. In my opinion, I think he spoils her too much, but that looks has definitely gotten us out of some trouble growing up. "Okay, enough of this ridiculous conversation. We need to talk about more serious matters." my mom says as she looks at everyone, before her eyes land on me, "Warrick, you just used your tribrid aura. Do you realize that?" My eyes go wide as I look around at everyone, before my gaze falls back on my mom, "How do you know?" "Because you shook the whole damn house, son. We've also got pack members mind-linking us, trying to figure out what's going on. The entire pack heard it. You woke everyone up." dad says as he beams at me with a wide grin. I look back at Zeke, who's standing behind me, before he gives me a nod of confirmation. I look back at everyone else, and they nod as well. So that explains how I was able to get Uncle Gavin to stand down. I stare at Uncle Gavin, before a wicked grin covers my face. Uncle Gavin's eyes wide in horror, before he suddenly takes off walking back down the hallway. I let him be for the moment, but I'll get him sooner or later. Delilah suddenly pushes her way through everyone and steps into the room, before looking between me and Zeke, "I know what we need to do to get Elizabeth and the rest of our pack here! I had a dream about it!"
