Chapter 5

Derek's POV "Ummm... Where do you all usually have lunch?" I asked Lana. "Cafeteria" she shrugged and looked at me like I was an alien with ten heads. "Ugh.. I mean.. where else do they serve lunches in schools?" She asked with a smile. Oh! So that's the system here!! In pack school we would just go home, have lunch, and then assemble for the run in the woods. Once the run is done we call it end and leave. There are indeed lots of changes between both worlds. On the same planet, yet so different. "Derek!!!!!!" I heard a familiar voice and that instantly made me smile. "I am so lost" Kian fake cried but I can see his struggle. "Where is Kevin?" I asked him. "Let me mindl-" I smacked his head before he finished his sentence. "Ouch!!!!!!" He rubbed the back of his head. "So... Kian.. meet Lana. We have almost all the classes together except Math, which you and I have in common." I said. "Ohhh!!! Nice to meet you Lana. I'm Derek's best friend" Kian gave her hand a soft shake. "Unfortunately" I muttered under my breath but Kian heard because of werewolf hearing. "Guys!!!!" Kevin yelled as soon as he spotted us while jogging in our direction. Lana got confused for a second looking at Kevin but soon she got the point that they are identical twins. "Uhhh... Hey?" Kevin's eyes were firm on Lana and for some odd reason I didn't like it. "Oh crap! How are the three of you so good looking?" She barely whispered but hey...time to thank our werewolf hearing senses again. "I'm Kevin. Kian's older brother" Kevin said hugging Lana as a friendly gesture but I didn't like it. "Older by ten minutes doesn't make you older" Kian raised his arms. "Ok you both!! Enough...let's get our lunch before it's late" I said, holding Lana's hand. " You guys carry on, I'll just check on Abigail" Kian said and I smiled. He may fight with her all the time but he has a sense of protectiveness over her. In werewolf school he also acted like a one man army for her even though she is an Alpha's daughter. We headed to the cafeteria and it was already packed. We grabbed our lunch and were looking around to find an empty table. "Where do you sit everyday?" Kevin asked her. "Umm...not really a place. I sit wherever there is space. I - I don't really have friends" she shrugged and her voice was so low. We quickly found an empty table in a corner and decided to make it ours. While we sat Kian returned with a noticeable hint of anger on his face. "Abigail already made friends and one of those is a boy!!" He said and I am instantly on my feet marching towards the exit of Cafeteria. I know I told her I would go easy, but this is her freaking first day! "Derek! Derek... Wait!! Just wait! This is Human School. And you aren't the Alpha's son here. Stop. Don't put Abigail in trouble. Lana is watching. For Goodness sake.. act normal" Kevin whispered while stopping me. I stopped walking for a second and looked at him. He quickly looked down, sensing I'm on my Alpha senses. And he very well knows not to mess with me. "Ok! But just know if he is a good or bad influence. I don't want a worthless boy walking beside my sister" I ordered him and walked back to the table. Lana just sat there not knowing what's going on. "Umm... Is she... Uhh...your girlfriend?" She asked me when I sat down. "Who? Abigail?" I asked her and she nodded. There were 3 seconds of silence and then all the three of us burst into laughter. Did she really think Abigail is my girlfriend? Do humans show their love this way? I guess so... "Oh Goddess No! No... Abigail is my little sister" I said after my laughter descended. "Oh ..I'm so sorry" she apologized. She is such an innocent girl. I wonder if she is made of glass. Her voice ... Just so smooth. She slowly stabbed a piece of chicken with a fork and put it in her mouth. Even the little things she does .. so delicate. I wonder why she doesn't have any friends. The lunch went on with laughter. We ate our food pretty quickly considering we wasted too much time already. Random girls came to us and started flirting but I was just so into Lana. Everything she does is amazing to me. Kian didn't waste any time on this. He started flirting back with them. "You guys look a lot more good looking and larger for our age" A girl sat beside Kevin. Well..yes! Perks of being a werewolf. . . . . . . . . . . . "How’s the school boys?" Uncle Elijah seems so excited than us. "It was good, uncle. Because we didn't make any friends except Lana" Kevin chuckled. "What about you both?" He asked . "Well, Lana is our friend too" I shrugged. "You assholes don't even know how to make friends" Abigail rolled her eyes. "I made three" "Brianna, Emma and...." She paused "Isaac" and her eyes suddenly went dreamy. I didn't like it. Not even a bit. I'll deal with this Isaac guy later. Maybe just throw him in the trashcan and kick his ass too? And yeah...of course warn him to stay away from my princess. Our drive back home was filled with Kian and Kevin talking about girls and Abigail talking about Isaac guy. My mind automatically drifted to Lana. I don't know what but there is something in her that always amuses me. The way she talks, the way she writes, her smile, basically everything! Within no time we reached the pack borders and in moments, we were already in the pack house. Mom was in the living room waiting for us. The moment she saw us she ran to me and hugged me real tight. "Ok! I feel like an outcast already" Abigail muttered playfully. "Who told you that you can't join the hug?" Mom laughed, making Abigail squeal and run for the hug. No one talked. We were just enjoying mom's warmth while Kevin and Kian went to their mom. "Where is dad?" I asked Mom. "Pack duties. There is an Alpha Party happening soon. He is busy with that" she said. By the time we three were about to pull away from the hug, two strong arms surrounded us and the warmth just increased. I suddenly felt at ease. Because that's my dad. My living God. "How was the school?" He whispered "Wasn't bad after all" I muttered "Go fresh up! We need to discuss something" Dad said. I didn't question back. I quickly went to my room. Took a warm shower, changed into much more comfortable clothes and went down. Everyone was already there except me. I went and sat in the empty seat beside dad. "There is an Alpha Party next month." Dad said. "I've heard from Mom. What is it about Dad?" I asked him back. "Alpha's from all the packs around the world are gonna come to our pack. Also, with their heirs if they have any. Being the Alpha King's son , you have to be there." Dad said. Alpha Party. With several Alphas. And their heirs too. Sounds really really cool. I am looking forward to it. "Ok dad" I said with my smile as wide as it could ever be.
