Lyra's POV I stirred awake as the morning sun peeked through the curtains, stretching my arms above my head. I glanced at the clock. “Looks like it’s almost time,” I muttered to myself. I turned to Kurtis, still asleep beside me, his chest rising and falling softly. I reached out, brushing my fingers through his hair. “Hey, sleepyhead, time to wake up. We’ve got a big day ahead!” He didn't respond, I smiled, reaching out to gently brush my fingers across his cheek. "Kurtis, it’s time to get up," I whispered, leaning in closer. He stirred slightly but didn’t open his eyes. "Five more minutes, baby girl," he mumbled, his voice husky with sleep. I chuckled softly. "You said that last night when you told me we’d be traveling back today. We’ve got to get moving." Kurtis slowly opened on
