He awoke to a howling wind and the sound of a driving rain outside the cabin. He got up and looked out at a rain that was so hard he couldn"t even see to the edge where the shelf dropped off to his valley. The rain had held off until he got back and he was thankful for that. He stepped out and was glad for the overhang above the cabin also. At least he had an additional twenty feet in which he could walk around outside of the cabin. Mouse came up wanting his pat on the head and Steve noticed the wolf in the corner laying as far away as possible and still out of the weather. She obviously didn"t like or dislike him, but she was never going to get any closer than she was right then he didn"t think. She didn"t growl, just stared, non-trusting and keeping her distance as far away as possible
