Mel sang beautifully as she worked in the kitchen, the morning seemed sweet to her, she dangled her tiny waist dancing to the melody of her song with her long black hair flipping to each side, anyone seeing her would love to stay to watch such a spectacle, she looked beautiful and graceful as she danced. She stretched her hands to reach the top of the cupboard but her petite figure coulpled with her short arms wouldn’t let her so she slipped and fell. Instead of falling on the hard floor, Mel could feel a rather hard surface but it wasn’t painful to her, the scent of fresh pine filled her nose and she quickly got up knowing who he was. She avoided his gaze keeping her head down, “I am so sorry Gamma” she apologized almost knocking herself for being so careless to fall sleep on him. “It’s okay” he answered standing up, he had been watching her for a while and she didn’t seem to notice him, he nodded his head to her song enjoying the view of seeing her dance, he felt happy because she was happy. He studied her until he figured that she might fall from trying to grab a plate, he quickly ran to help her but he slipped and fell, it felt much better for her to fall on him rather than the hard floor, he felt his body heated up and his ears were red, her body on his made him hard, he could feel the spark that erupted from their body contact and he loved it. She suddenly stood up and he frowned, he wished she had stayed a bit longer. He didn’t mind it because her body was light as feather to him. He cupped her face to look at him and she gulped hard, her heart began beating faster with his eyes drawing her in, she couldn’t resist his gaze. Mel tried to make her heart stop beating but she couldn’t, how on earth would she stop her racing heart when he was standing so close to her. “Good morning Gamma” she greeted in a formal tone and he smiled. “Morning Mel, you seem happy today” he said taking a seat to watch her, Mel became uncomfortable with his presence, she was worried that she might break something, she was scared about what to say to him and terrified by what others might think when they see them alone. “Yes” she nodded without an obvious answer, she tried to reach for the plate again not learning her lesson from the previous fall when a set of hands grabbed hers, it was rough compared to her soft and delicate hands but she loved it that way. “You know you can ask me for help” he said carrying the plates for her. She turned to him and their eyes met again, she could feel him drawing his face closer to her, his warm breath on her face making her brain dead from shock. “Was he trying to kiss me” she thought, her hands began shaking and she closed her eyes ready to taste his lips. “Mel” he called and she opened one eye, “You look beautiful” he said and then left. She jumped in excitement holding her racing chest, He just complimented her in the coolest way ever, she couldn’t contain her joy. “Does this mean that he noticed her” she thought but it all then dawned on her. “Why bother about that, what if he finds his mate and never cares about her again” would she be able to handle it? Her excitement dropped in an instant. *** Walking down the corridor to clean up Alpha Ash’s room was Livey, she walked hastily trying not to seen by anyone, it was her first time being given such a huge task. she waited until Ash was out for his meeting before she proceeded to his room. Keeping her head low, she bumped into someone. “I am so sorry” she apologized looking up, “You dare to look at me you lowly omega” Sherlock yelled at her angrily. “I didn’t mean to” she answered wishing he won’t create a scene but who was she kidding. This was Former Alpha Sherlock who ruled the pack with a strict hand to the point that no one would dare to defy him. “Just because you work here you think you have an entitlement to this place that you would go around bumping into people” He lashed out in a dark tone causing dominance from his aura. “And where are you heading to” he asked. “To the Alpha’s room…” “Do you want to seduce my son” he cut in. “Just because he rejected you and refused to make you his Luna you want to seduce him and separate him from his mate” Sherlock had heard a lot about Livey from Scarlett his mate, he hated her for making his son the cold person he was today and seeked for an opportunity to meet her, he was finally blessed with such a day. “I was only going to” “Did I ask you to speak” he grabbed her by the neck and pulled her up, Livey struggled to breath much worse she struggled to break free from his grasp. “I.. can’t.. breath” she begged. “This is what would have become the Luna of this pack” because of her act of pleading he found her as a weak and pathetic woman, he hated such people who couldn’t even fight for themself. “Listen to me, don’t you ever step into this floor again unless you want to lose your life and meet with your parents in wherever hellhole that they are right now, and do not think that my son would ever come to you, he has a mate now and you are nothing but garbage that he had disposed of. You disgust him as much as you disgust me” he spat making it clear to her, he made sure that she was hurt by his words. Livey listened to the harsh words Sherlock said while struggling for her life, he didn’t bulge when she was at the verge of passing out not even when tears rolled from her eyes. “Was this it, was this the end of her life” She had never expected that she would die this way. Sherlock released her and she fell to the ground, her feet felt numb and she couldn’t stand up, “Just look at that, you are better off dead than alive, why don’t you leave this pack for those who are much better than you” He pushed her off his path and walked away. Livey cried back to her room, she cried her heart out on her bed, Everything he said was true, she was weak and useless, she couldn’t protect her parents from death neither could she join them if she really missed them. The man she loved dearly was mated to another and she didn’t even fight for him. “Livey please don’t cry” Ruby said, “And where the hell were you when I was strangled to death, why didn’t you save me” Livey fired back diverting her anger towards Ruby, they were supposed to be one, fighting and caring for each other but she left her to the hands of Former Alpha Sherlock. “His aura was too powerful for me to fight back, I am just a three days old pup” Ruby answered, she had no experience in fighting and her abilities had not yet developed. She was also as useless as Livey in a fight. “I am sorry if you think that I couldn’t help you” Ruby apologized but Livey refused answering her, she just kept crying. Why the hell was she brought to the castle, ‘to add to her misery’, to make her suffer, ever since she stepped her leg in the castle everything backfired at her, she couldn’t do one single thing right and all her days were always miserable. From scolding, to starvation, to abuse, to insults, to pain, she had no break from it at all. “I wish I had just died, I wished I wasn’t even born then I wouldn’t have to go through so much pain” she said to herself. “We could leave if you want” Ruby suggested, She sprung to her feet and packed the few clothes she had into her bag. “Are you ready” Ruby asked and she nodded her head. Jumping through her window, she was able to get out of the castle and into the woods, walking wasn’t the best option for her, she had no means of transportation but all she knew was that she had to get away from the pack. She had to get away from the pain and misery that everyone had caused her, the distance from the woods to the boundary was a seven hours trek and she was willing to walk that far, “Why don’t you let me run, we can cover up more pace” Ruby suggested and she agreed. White paw stood on the ground, Ruby was set free and she began running, she ran for as long as her legs could take her. “Freedom” was all that was in her mind, if she could get to the next pack then she would be free from them, her life there was worst than most omegas, she was treated as the least amongst them, even a rogue was much better than her. Livey realized that once she crossed the border she would automatically be a rogue and could be killed if she ever got caught. She didn’t care, it was better to take her chances than to return back to the torment and hatred. Running for four hours, Ruby was exhausted, she let out soft whimpers and her pace was getting slower. She was tired and needed a moment of break. She changed back to Livey and they began trekking again, the border wasn’t far anymore and they could slow their pace. Livey believed that no one cared about her to be searching for her and she had a good reason to think that way. “I will miss you Mel” she said looking back one last time when she picked up the most amazing scent. “Mate” Ruby purred in her head from excitement, who knew that risking her freedom would bring her to her mate.
