Broke me

“Livey” Gamma Brent called walking towards her dressed on a brown shirt and jeans while holding two sticks. He threw a stick at her almost hitting her face. “Follow me, he ordered and she obeyed without objection, her tiny feet weren’t able to keep up with his pace so she ran behind him. In the woods, Brent held a stick in his hand smiling. “Gamma Brent, what are we doing here?” She asked in fear, she didn’t like the idea of getting caught with the Gamma by anyone most especially by Bridgette or the Alpha. “Relax, I need a sparing partner. No one is willing to fight with me because they think I am too strong” He answered, his ripped chest could be seen through the shirt as well as his muscles. “I don’t think I am the right person, if anyone sees me then I would be in trouble” Livey panicked keeping her head down, she was just new to the castle and she couldn’t afford to have silly attention drawn to herself, she was already trying to deal with Gabrielle’s constant insult. “I made a promise and I have to fulfill it” He said a bit sadly feeling depression in his heart. “To who” She asked raising her brow, maybe that person was the reason why he was nice to her. “Your father, I promised him to protect you and train you when he is gone” He answered. Livey paused for a bit, “What did you say” she asked with widen eyes shocked by his statement, it clearly meant that her father knew that he would die thats why he made Brent swear a promise. But why didn’t he save himself if he knew that, she thought. Things were getting too complicated for her to understand, all she knew was that someone was behind her parents death. “Are you ready” Brent snapped her out of her reverie, he pulled the scarf off his neck and took a stance. “I will go easy on you” respecting the fact that she was a lady. “Oh, please” she answered and took the first strike knocking the stick out of his hand. She smirked a bit at his shocked expression, “Don’t mess with a warrior’s daughter” Livey had learnt a lot from her father and she could protect herself quite well if need arising. Her training with him were the best times in her life, she would trip and fall or make a mistake but he wouldn’t scold her rather he would encourage to continue fighting until she got it right. “I guess I underestimated you, I will go hard this time” Brent brushed his hair backwards clenching his hands on his stick, he struck several times not giving her a chance to breath from each attack, the last strike knocked her to the floor and her stick fell from her grasp, he placed his close to her neck, “Dead” he muttered. “That’s unfair” she waved him off, he was too fast for her to control or keep up with his pace. “I guess thats the difference between you and me” “Come on, I can teach you how to counteract a fast attack. Are you ready to learn?” He asked. “Yea please” she humbly replied and he taught her a few things. From a distance a dark pair of eyes were on them, Alpha Ash stood angrily as he watched Brent laugh with his woman. His muscles tensed and his blood boiled, though that he was sad and till mad, it had been years since he last saw her smile and it pained him more that he wasn’t the one making her smile. Livey smiled beautifully as always while practicing, she seemed to having a good time. His heart fluttered as it used to before from seeing her happy, it was always her, no one had such effect on him not even Gabrielle who claimed to be his mate. “You look beautiful when you smile, you should be doing that more often” Brent said packing his things to leave. “I wish I could but there is nothing left in my life to be happy about” Her grief was much more than she could bear, the only times she smiled was when she was with Mel or talking to Ruby over funny and impossible things. After her parents death, her life drained backwards defying the rule of progress. “If you ever need someone to talk to, I am always available” he could feel her sadness even from a few inches away. She smiled at him again and he smiled back. Walking back to the castle he felt the presence of a familiar scent that was once there. He chuckled. “Is anything funny” Livey turned to him and he shaked his head, “Let’s head back” He took the lead and she followed. *** “Where the hell have you been” Bridgette asked banging the door to Livey’s room. Livey was dumbfounded, she couldn’t utter a word, how on earth would she tell her that she was with the Gamma without worsening the situation. “I..I..” “So now you can’t speak” Bridgette yelled at the top of her voice, her wrath could be heard in her tone as she scolded Livey. She had never taken a liking to her and scolded her at every chance she got. “You lowlife, do you think that you can disappear as you want. This is a f*****g castle, there are things to do here and who do you think will do them, the ranked members or me?” She asked and Livey shaked her head. “Good, that’s why we have omegas like you, now get to work but do not touch any food. You are banned from eating for today atleast that would teach you a lesson” She said and stormed out. Livey held her stomach to stop it from grumbling, she hadn’t eaten since morning and it seemed like she wouldn’t eat again for the rest of the day. She couldn’t blame the Gamma for that, it wasn’t his fault that she was scolded, she actually felt happy for being out of the castle even for a while. She wore her gloves and left her room to begin work, she worked until late in the night, feeling exhausted she fell on her bed when she heard a light knock on the door. Mel walked in hiding some snacks wrapped in a plate, “Oh, you are a life saver” Livey quickly grabbed the snacks and devoured it. “Gamma Brent apologized for not handling the situation earlier so he sent these snacks to you” Mel said and sat close to her. “Livey can I ask you something?” “Sure” “What do you think it feel like to have a mate” Mel asked in a low tone, it was forbidden for the omegas to be awake at such a late hour. If they were caught they would serve great punishment. “My mom once said that it was the most beautiful thing in the world, when you see your mate for the first time, everything around you feels irrelevant, the world pauses just for you. You know mates are sent by the moon goddess so that no one would suffer for love” “Hmm” “The sparks and tingles you feel from the body contact, how you hold your breath once you see him, every other person wouldn’t be as amazing as your mate not now and never in a million years, that’s a fact that you can’t argue with” She said and they laughed. “Your mate is capable of making your body react just with a touch, his kiss could send numbness to your body making you weak and longing for more, you would feel butterflies in your stomach just from hearing his voice and when he calls your name, you just get can’t keep still” “You really know a lot about this” “My mom was quite descriptive when she explained it to me” Livey answered, “Have you ever been in love” Mel asked curiously, Livey sighed, she had only fallen in love with one man all her life, he had always brought happiness to her even in the most little way possible. Now he was lost to her that she can hardly speak of him without grieving. “Yes” “How was it?” Mel sat upright itching her ears to hear more details. “I don’t want to talk about him, he broke me” Her facial expression changed scaring Mel to death. “Uhmmm okay” Mel stuttered in fear, she had never seen her look so dreadful before. Standing outside her door was Alpha Ash, he had summoned up courage to finally talk to her but when he heard her, he paused and retracted his hands from knocking. He turned back to his chambers allowing three words rummage his mind as he sulked, “He broke me”.
