Revenge

Chapter 21

Amy's POV

The three of us stare at the photo and I finally ask Elizabeth if she recognizes the place where it was taken at. "Yes." She sobs out. "I know exactly where this is. It's Camp Evergreen, where they first met. They would take us there every summer until the place shut down. It's about an hour away from here."

"Let's go." Chase says as he pulls his car keys out of his pocket. 

I stare at my friend and ask her my next question. "Do you think my father is there as well?" She's quick to nod her head. "It would be the perfect location. It's been abandoned for many, many years."

I stand up and stick my arm out for her to grab on to. "Let's go put your father to rest properly." I pull her up and give a comforting hug. 

When we arrive to the camp, I can't help but get the chills. Elizabeth was right, it has been abandoned for years. Chase grabs my hand and I grab on to Elizabeth was the other. The path to the campground is overgrown with vines and weeds, causing us to constantly trip. We look at the picture to see which cabin it is that they were standing in front of. We find number 13 and open the rotted door. Upon entering, I let out a scream. 

"What kind of sick game is this!" I yell at Dean and his mother sitting on dusty bed.  Elizabeth and Chase look at me, surprised that I knew the people in front of us. 

"If you knew where he was, why threaten me?" I start crying out. I'm so busy yelling at her, I didn't notice at first that Dean was also crying. This boy looked absolutely terrified. My heart ached for him, having to witness all this madness. 

"I needed to lure you here somehow." She snickered at me. This woman is freaking crazy. I'm starting to feel worried for all of us around her. 

"What do you want!?" Chase yells at her. 

"Two things. First, $500,000 dollars." 

"Done." Elizabeth says. 

"Second thing is hand over Amy."

"No!" Chase and Beth shout at once. 

Her evil laughter erupts and says, "Thought you would say that."  She grabs a knife from her boot and holds it to Dean's throat. "Now, Amy. You don't want your little brother to die. Do you?"

My body is shaking and I feel dizzy, as if i'm about to pass out. I refuse to let this monster harm this innocent boy. "Deal. You let him go first, and I'm all yours." 

"What! Amy, no." Chase pulls me into him. 

I caress his face and give him one last passionate kiss. "Take care of him." 

"A million dollars if you let them both go." Elizabeth suggests. 

"Hmm... tempting.... but no. I waited many years for this moment."

I start walking slowly to her as she lets Dean go. He's quick to run to Chase and hide behind him. He's going to make such a great father. It breaks my heart to not be able to see them together. As I'm in front of the woman, I ask for one favor. "Before you kill me, can you at least show us where they are?" 

"Fair enough, considering you'll be joining them."
