Elijah Mayah’s shenanigans aside, the team began checking out our options for going forward with the walk-through. From the sitting room, there was a door that opened to the right into an office, and one to the left that led into the kitchen. Straight ahead there was a long dark hallway. I flicked on the lights, but even that did not dispel the feeling of gloom in the corridor. That was exactly the vibe I was looking for. Doing due diligence, we checked out the kitchen first. It had been outfitted with modern appliances, but most of them had since been vandalized. The elements had been ripped off from the stove, the refrigerator doors were hanging at odd angles, and the shelves had been smashed. Cupboard doors were hanging off too and drawers were pulled out. The whole place was tra
