After school Anna and I exchanged numbers, it appeared that it had rained for a little while we were at school so the parking lot was filled with puddles of water and it was impossible to walk without stepping into one. I loved the smell of the ground after it had rained, it was refreshing and made me feel closer to mother nature.
As I walked into my car Liam sped past me splashing me with water on my clothes and my face. I looked at his car as it passed in disbelief, how could he do that to me wasn’t it enough that he had rejected me now he seemingly also wanted to ensure that I didn’t enjoy my days at school. As the car was driving out of the school gate I got a clearer view of who the driver was. It was Ashley driving Liam’s car and she purposely splashed me with water. I already knew that she didn’t like me and that she hated the way Liam always stared at me whenever I walked into class but what she had done to me right now was just low. And Liam just sat there with a smirk looking proud of what his girlfriend had done which infuriated me even more.
Thank goodness when I got home my mother wasn’t at home otherwise she would’ve made this whole thing a big deal. My mother was well known for blowing things way out of proportion and I knew she would probably take this as a sign that I was being bullied. I quickly took a bath and then put on my pyjamas before starting on dinner, my mom returned back home an hour after I was done with dinner.
“Hey mum” I said as she took a seat in the dining table, dropping her handbag and laptop bag on the floor.
“Hi honey, I am so tired I was showing houses today but don’t let me bore you your life is more exciting than mine, how was school” she said and I laughed
“Trust me your life is more interesting, but school was fun in fact I made a friend” I said proudly, I never made friends easily
“Oh that’s an improvement, who is she and where does she stay?” she asked, my mum would make an amazing detective if only she considered the career
“Her name is Anastasia and I don’t know where she stays, and I don’t want to know because I will never visit her” I said and my mum laughed
“Whatever, dinner looks good” she said as I dished the spaghetti and meat balls for her
We ate as she continued to tell me more about her day and what she had done that day and I made sure not to tell her that I made a friend and an arch enemy on my first day at school. Girls like Ashley lived for conflicts; they fed off of the attention that they got from their victims. I imagined that there had probably been a few instances that she had been called to the principal’s office regarding students she had bullied.
I went up to my room and did my homework before going into bed. I was becoming fond of the new house and my new room and I loved the view of my room. I also loved that it was a big room which meant that if I ever decided to re decorate it, the room would accommodate whatever I would choose to put in it.
The next morning I woke up earlier than the day before, I took a long bath and then changed into a short black and white checked skirt with a slit and a white turtle neck top that I tucked in since the skirt was also a high waist. I took my nude stilettos and put on some light make up and then headed out. Even if Ashley had made it her life mission to make my life a living hell, I was going to do the same by making sure Liam’s eyes stay glued to me.
“Hey Anna” I said as I met her by the corridors.
“Hey Lizzy, how did you sleep?” she asked, I was not used to anyone asking me such question and I certainly was not expecting her to. But then again this was the first girl that I had ever entertained as my friend.
“I slept well, how did you sleep?” I asked her back
“I slept well although my brother wouldn’t let me rest, he kept asking me questions about...” she stopped talking as if she had said too much
“About what?” I asked and she looked away nervously clearly looking for something to destruct her and a way to change the topic
“Oh nothing...you know family stuff. Let’s get to class before we are too late” she said as she hurried in front of me, I could see she was trying to hide from and escape the conversation so I was going to let it go and not investigate further. And besides her family drama/conflicts were really none of my business.
Class was the same as usual, and a little boring to be honest. By now I was well accustomed to everything that ever happened in class, it was now like a boring routine for me. During Biology we had to work in pairs and you can take a wild guess who I was paired up with...
The one and only awesome Liam, I could rename him as Liam pain but Liam Payne from one direction was way too cute to be compared to such.
Anna wasn’t in Biology and neither was Ashley, this was the only class that Liam and I had together, and I kind of expected him to drop it since he resented me so much. Both of us tried our hardest to get out of the pairing but Mr Carrel insisted that we would make a good pair. My love for Biology was officially ruined by Liam, and that was because number one he wasn’t participating and number two he was acting very clueless. We never really directly spoke to each other since our first meeting which was the reason why team work was impossible and a complete fail. Dropping biology would be a good idea if only I didn’t want to be a science major in college.
“What the hell is your problem?” I snapped when I had finally had enough
“Are you talking to me right now?” he asked arrogantly
“No I am talking to the skeleton next to you, of course am talking to you” I said harshly
“I don’t have time for this” he said as he started packing his backpack clearly aware the lesson was over, by the time the bell rang he was already out of class and I was following behind him.
Under normal circumstances I was not going to let it go just like that, but these were not normal circumstances this was a mate that had rejected me and then allowed his girlfriend to make my life hell at school. I understood Ashley’s hatred for me, because I knew she saw me as a threat between her and Liam but for Liam to treat me the way he was treating me was just cruel. Especially because I wasn’t even pursuing him and I had accepted the fact that he didn’t want me.
“What are you thinking about?” asked Anna as she caught up with me and we made our way to the cafeteria for lunch.
“Oh nothing major” I said as we entered the already packed cafeteria and people were already seated.
Anna loved the food they served here while I thought that it was intentional torture on students because the food never had any taste. So as she went her way to get food as I made my way to our usual spot to take a seat. As I walked past Ashley and Liam’s table, Ashley stood up and literally poured her orange juice on my white turtle neck.
What the actual f**k?
“What the hell do you think you are doing?” I demanded pissed
“Oops sorry” she said in her annoying small voice acting all innocent. It was at this moment that I felt the animal in me claw its way out, the wolf that I had only met a few times in my life was now begging me to let her out so that she could deal with this disrespectful imbecile.
Liam stood up as quickly as I could feel my eyes changing colour and pulled Ashley away, and they left the cafeteria. I was tempted to run after them and just rip her apart but Anna came and pulled me to our seats and then she started attempting to wipe of the juice residue.
“It’s no use, my top is ruined” I said fighting the tears
“Ashley is such a b***h” she said as she continued wiping my shirt even though I told her to stop.
After that encounter I lost my appetite, first Ashley splashed me with water and now she purposely poured her orange juice on my perfectly white shirt. I was never going to be able to get rid of these stains, I was sure there was no detergent in the world that could help me get rid of them
The classes I had after lunch were like an endurance test for me because in every single one of them I had to see Ashley and the smug look she had on her face. She and Liam kept glancing in my direction and laughing, probably laughing at my now white turtle neck with orange patches. If he hadn’t removed her from my presence during lunch I was probably going to kill her. And probably removed her because he could see how hungry I was for her blood. I was barely listening in class but I did hear the announcement concerning the wolf training class that we were going to have the following day, I was looking forward to that and I hoped I would have to fight Ashley. I was going to beat her ass and I knew there was no way she could defeat me because she looked weak and frail.
After school Anna and I walked slowly to our cars while we chatted casually, I noticed a crowd gathered around my car and I immediately went into panic mode. Has my car been broken into and if so was it damaged. As I closed in on the crowd and they saw me, they gave me way and I could finally see what was catching their attention so much.
Firstly my tyres were slashed and secondly the words “Elizabeth is a w***e” were spray painted on the side of the car, I didn’t even need to ask to know this was Ashley’s hand. I saw her across the parking lot with Liam laughing, probably laughing at how stupid I looked right now. This time there was no stopping me or controlling me, I ran over to her and before they could all see me coming, I landed my fist on her right check and she stumbled back. Seeing the blood oozing from her nose was so satisfying that I wanted to give her another one but Liam caught my hand and literally threw me across the parking lot.
He was defending her...
