I woke up very early. Today, I was going to see Nora.
She seemed to be getting ready to leave the house when I rang her doorbell.
"Hey, Nora, shall we go shopping today? Or maybe have lunch together?" I tried to be as enthusiastic as possible.
As I spoke, I walked up to her and put my arm around her shoulders. "Are you going out? That's a nice jacket on you. It suits you perfectly."
Nora pushed me away: "Why are you here?"
Nora's tone wasn't friendly, but I didn't give up.
I wasn't angry, not because I was kind, but because Nora at the moment seemed very pitiful to me, especially when I remembered the image of her being kicked out by Bess yesterday.
Once a dancing genius, she was no longer my rival.
Derek, whom she once valued more than life, was in my bed last night.
