Hours painfully tick by every second feels like an eternity. I refuse to sleep I need answers.
As the first signs of dawn start to flicker through the room she begins to stir. I take the hand I’m holding and press it to my lips in a gesture to comfort her. “Hey Zo”
Her eyes flicker to mine “Hey big brother” She barely manages to crack out still not fully healed. “What in goddesses name happened Zo?” Sadness clouding her eyes she presses them closed again and takes a deep breath.
“I don’t even know how to tell you this Leo” eyes still closed. “Just tell me please, let me fix this for you, whoever, whatever it is I’ll never stop until I avenge you” A wry smile shapes her bruised lips, finally her eyes open holding mine, completely haunted. It’s breaking my heart.
