Cleansing the Heart

As we step back through the portal into the castle I feel the full weight of the last few days seep into my bones. I have never felt so exhausted but I also have a glimmer of hope too. I have faced him and walked away with strength and I have a new council who will help me to run the day to day. Maybe now I can start to move forwards and think about meeting my own family. Each heavy step we take up and out of the portal corridor echo’s like thunder a final shadow of all we have been through. When we exit the heavy door at the top of the stairs I feel some of the weight leave me, as it clicks closed with a finality I take a deep cleansing breath. It is over. It feels like an age since we left my rooms and I quicken with each step now that carries me back there to my mate. The thought
