"The war at the border still rages on, the leader of our clan stated that the group of vampire had contacted their coven and have been sent with back up." The neat lady reported the news.
June shifted in his seat anxiously and watched the news.
"The war had started a month ago and was going to be used as a test exam for Alphas in training, however the situation escalated and the leader do not wish to endanger the youths of our clan." The reporter continued.
A short clip was played afterwards.
It was Sirius' father who looked just like Sirius only he had bright sliver eyes and dark hair that reached till his waist.
"The young Alphas of our clans are very talented but they lack experience," his voice was smooth and rich, "I wanted them to gather experience through this fight with the vampires, however I failed to be foresighted, so I am ordering the Alphas younger than twenty five to report back to the city."
A reporter raised their hand, the clan leader nodded his head.
"What about your son, sir? Will he also come back?"
June precked up at the question and chewed his bottom lip nervousily.
The clan leader gave the reported a dead look.
"Sirius Jian is the future leader of this clan." He slowly began, " I have trained him since he was a little kid. I know what he is capable of. He will be staying in the front lines."
"What?" June shrieked.
"Woah, woah you don't wanna pierce our eardrums do you?" Mr.Weng asked.
"But Sirius is only eighteen! I mean, he is still in high school! So, the rule applies to him to! This is not fair!" June said, pointing at the television in an accusing way.
"Our leader is applying equity in this situation, many alphas who are below twenty five but very capable are also staying at the front lines." Mrs.Weng said, and passed June a cup of warm milk.
"I don't like it," June mumbled as he blew on his milk.
"Why are you so worried about Surius Jian anyway?" Mrs.Weng asked, "Are you two friends."
"I have school tomorrow!" June said in a high pitch voice and jumped off the couch and dash to his room.
When he reached his room, June closed the door and saw his phone buzzing on his bed. He walked towards his bed and picked up the call.
It was Sirius.
"Why didn't you pick your phone?" Sirius asked, "It was an emergency, I wanted to say I missed you."
June smiled at his cheesy line but answered, "I was watching the news."
He heard Sirius sigh on the other side of the line.
"Did you saw my dad talking in a dramatic way?" Sirius asked.
"No, he felt umm..." June trailed off to find the right word, while Sirius patiently waited for him.
"Oppressive," June finally mumbled.
Sirius' deep laughter made June smile lightly.
"Please don't tell him!" June suddenly said, realizing, he just called the leader of a very powerful werewolf clan oppressive.
"You have my word," Sirius said, June would hear the smile in his voice.
"When will you be back?" June asked.
"You miss me?" Sirius asked.
"No," June flatly said, "I am running short on my stock of mango milk."
He heard Sirius laugh lightly on the other side, "I miss you though."
They spent the night talking until June asked Sirius to sleep so he will be refreshed for his fight tomorrow.

"June! What is this?"
June groaned, as he rolled around his bed before letting out a yelp when he fell off it. He rubbed his eyes and slowly opened his eyes to find his mother by his door, tapping her legs impatiently.
"Mum?"
"It's almost eight don't you want to get ready for school?" Mrs.Weng demanded and then she shook an evenlop in the air, "And why did you order forty cartoons of mango milk?"
That piece of information snapped June out of his sleep.
"I did not order—what's that?" June asked.
"It came with the mango milks," Mrs.Weng said and walked towards him and handed the envelop.
"Get ready fast or you will be late," she said and placed a kiss on his forehead and walked away.
Still wrapped up in his blanket June opened the envelope and a soft smile appeared his lips.
"Don't miss me too much, pup. I am getting hiccups and you will never run out of mango milk again as long as I am here.
—love S.J"
June looked out of his bedroom window to the front door and saw his dad carrying boxes of mango milk inside the house.
"What a dork," June said and got ready for the day.

The vampire in his hand turned into dust the moment he ripped out the heart from it's chest.
Twenty two, he counted mentally as he dodged a punch and held the wrist of the vampire and kicked him in the stomach and pulled him into a head lock and cracked it's neck.
Twenty three, he counted.
Sirius ran through the battle field and took out his gun occasionally but preferred killing the vampires with his bare hands.
They had been fighting since the morning and since vampires do not sleep, they were at an disadvantage.
Sirius let out a cry of war as he stabbed the vampire in the heart and left the body as it turned into dust.
Sirius dodged a vampire coming his way but lost his balance and hit the hard ground. He hissed at the hard impact of the ground.
The vampire took advantage of Sirius' fall and climbed on top of him. The vampire pierced a sliver dragger on the side of his waist. Sirius gritted his teeth in pain as he punched the vampire but the vampire was stubborn and stood his ground as he dug the sliver dragger slowly.
Suddenly a wolf twice the size of a car knocked the vampire from Sirius.
Sirius gasped out as he pulled away the sliver dragged and focused on healing his wound, with gritted teeth. He turned his head towards the brown wolf who had just finished ripping the vampire's body apart. The wolf looked back at him and changed back into Hailey Feng.
He nodded at her as a gesture of thanks and she nodded back.
Hailey watched Sirius run towards the leader of the coven, who had just cracked a wolf's neck.
She felt her heart beat loudly against her chest the adrenaline of the war had fired her up but the look Sirius gave her made her chest clench painfully.
For the first time Sirius was not looking at her with annoyance or a haughty smirk.
And it made her happy.

June frowned at the increasing favorability rate Venus kept showing him.
"Disable the female lead's favorability rate notification, Venus." He instructed whistle chewing on his sandwich.
[Affirmative, host. However, is it wise?]
"Sirius is totally in love with June Weng," he said, "I don't have to be worried about anything. The notification is annoying me."
