Chapter 13 Tom Larkin’s body had been found by a local fishing spot, where it had apparently been dumped with far less ceremony than his killers had used to murder him in the first place. When I got into the office that morning, Bruce Putnam was already out there with the local police. Violet and Grimassi were over in a corner having a hushed conversation, most likely about the bizarre murder. Nelson was in his office, so I barged right in. “I know something about the Larkin killing,” I said. He frowned at me. “Didn’t I specifically say you would not be assigned to that case?” “Just hear me out.
