Chapter 31 I didn’t come in along the road because if the mayor turned around and came back out, he would have spotted me. Instead I went in through the woods, moving quickly in a diagonal line and keeping the entrance road to my left as a guide. I tried to be quiet, but you can only be so quiet when you’re moving quickly and awkwardly to avoid as much pain as possible. Branches cracked beneath my feet, but none loudly enough to stand out from the usual sounds of the forest. I came to a building after about ten minutes and after orienting myself, I recognized it as the location of one of the agricultural exhibits from the fair. I was out of the woods.
