Chapter 23 Poker night at Timothy’s Bar and Grill. We had a table in the back, where we could keep some distance between us and the locals. This wasn’t because of any particular animosity, but the FBI prefers to set itself apart and most of the individual agents follow suit. We were playing Five Card Draw, which isn’t serious poker. We even had wild cards – aces and deuces, which for some reason kept landing on everybody but me. Grimassi was glaring at me every time he looked up from his cards, and Violet wasn’t even looking at me at all. Bruce Putnam was trying to include me in the conversation, but I can’t say I was making it easy for him. “How long you been playing poker, Holder?” he asked me. “This isn’t really poker,” I said. “But as long as I can remember.” I didn’t see fit to me
