I dropped my cutlery and looked at Alpha Zerek. "Thank you for the delicious meal," I said with a faint smile.
The conversation Alpha Brady raised made me so uncomfortable and I couldn't wait to leave the dining room. I had had enough too.
To my surprise, he also dropped his cutlery, pulled a napkin, and wiped his lips.
"Have you had enough?" Nelly asked but Brady did not even look at her. He just stood up and offered me his hand. I nervously placed my palm on his.
"I have a welcome pack for you. I'm sure you will love it," He said with a faint smile. I stood up and he held my hand and led me out of the Crystal Palace.
As soon as we stepped out, the pitter-patter of raindrops intensified and a cool breeze wafted in. Alpha Brady's smile widened and he glanced at me.
He led me into a vacant room and shut the door behind us. My heart started to pound and I struggled to catch my breath.
Alpha Brady placed his hands on my waist. With gentle nibbling on my ear, he sent electric shocks down my spine, leaving me breathless.
The scent of his arousal filled my nostrils, stirring up an intense desire within me that I struggled to resist. His hands moved over my body, caressing and exploring in a way that made my knees weak.
"I can't believe how perfect the weather is," Brady murmured huskily, his words sending a thrill through me that I couldn't deny. With a nod, I silently acknowledged him, lost in the overwhelming sensations that surrounded me.
In the midst of our heated moment, he held me closer.
"Lily, he murmured. "Let's go to my suite and cuddle this weather out," Alpha Brady said, his voice dripping with lust and I could feel my resolve slipping away. The air in the room took on a seductive heaviness, and his tongue traced tantalizing patterns on my neck.
The suggestion of going to his suite made my heart race, my pulse beat wildly in my ears. His palms were firmly gripping my hips, pulling me closer to him with a raw need that only served to increase my already heated desire. His breath was hot and eager, like he couldn't wait to taste me.
But despite the temptation of giving in to his wild desires, I knew I couldn't. Slowly, I removed his hands from me with a gentle firmness, relishing the way his eyes followed my every movement.
A soft whimper escaped his lips as I pushed him away, creating a small distance between us. It felt like we were both suspended in time, lost in the intensity of each other's gaze. The only sound was the gentle pattering of raindrops on the window pane, a reminder of the world outside our little bubble of desire.
My heart was pounding against my chest as I struggled to find my words.
"I'm… sorry, I'm… not ready for… this," I murmured timidly, my gaze fixed on the floor. But he didn't say a word. It was as if the silence between us held a weight more profound than words could express.
Suddenly, Brady turned around and strode towards the door, and my fear surged. For a split moment, I wondered if he was going to get a whip.
"I'll be right back," Alpha Brady said without looking at me. The door closed violently behind him and I shuddered.
I began to walk towards the door to leave the room as soon as possible. Fear coursed through me as I tried the door handle. It was locked tight, trapping me inside a room.
"Oh, goddess!" I let out a soft gasp as I continued pulling the door handle. "This can't be happening!!"
Panic set in when I realized I was not with my phone and no one would ever find me. Did Brady lock me up?
I thought about my pups who would suffer if anything happened to me and my fear went overboard.
I began to desperately search for any means of escape. Abruptly, my heart leapt up as I spotted a door at the far end of the room. But as I reached it, I discovered it to be firmly shut, appearing as though it had not been opened in years. I pulled the handle but it stayed locked.
Hopelessness pervaded my mind, and I scampered back to the locked door. In a moment of desperation, I lifted my hand to pound on it with my fist, only to halt as my eyes caught my wristwatch. Quickly, I typed 'MIRA' with trembling fingers.
"Mira," I breathed out when I heard her voice on the other end. "I'm in trouble!"
"Lily, what's going on?" Mira inquired, her voice laced with obvious anxiety.
I could barely keep my voice steady as I replied, "Alpha Brady locked me up in a room. Please, help me!"
"What? I'll tell our mom right away!" Mira exclaimed before the line cut off.
I knew Brady's mother was also involved, so I wasn't optimistic about her help, yet I had no alternative but to await her intervention. My fear only continued to rise as the seconds ticked by.
As I stood behind the door in the empty room waiting for Nelly's intervention, I remembered the questions I was asked the day before, the strange deaths of Alpha Brady's three Luna, and the unsettling conversation he had with his mother.
I quickly typed 'LUNARIS' into my watch but was met with silence. I typed and typed but received no response.
Desperate for help, I decided to try a different approach and typed 'ALPHA LUNARIS'. Within seconds, his cold, commanding voice boomed through the tiny speakers.
"I think I'm in trouble," I cried, trying to keep my voice steady despite my escalating panic.
"Stay calm and tell me what kind of trouble you're in," he commanded, his tone hushed yet authoritative.
"Alpha Brady locked me in an empty room," I exclaimed, my voice shaking as I spoke. Before I could say anything else, the communication line suddenly went dead, leaving me alone in the room with my fears.
A minute later, the door finally opened and my heart skipped at the sight of Alpha Lunaris, flanked by his Betas. With fear still in my eyes and without hesitation, I ran towards him and threw myself onto his sturdy frame. As tears fell uncontrollably down my cheeks, I buried my face in his broad chest, refusing to let go of him. I held him so tight as my body continued vibrating.
My heart was pounding so loudly that it drowned out all other sounds. The scent of his body was both soothing and enchanting, enveloping me in a sense of safety and security that I had never felt before.
"I'm here now, so you're safe," Alpha Lunaris reassured me, his voice gentle and soothing. A wave of comfort washed over me and my mind began to calm down. Despite this, I had no desire to pull away from his body. For the first time since my father's death, I felt truly safe, cocooned in Alpha Lunaris' strong, protective embrace.
It was as if he could sense my hesitation and fear, and without a word, he simply stood there, allowing me as much time as I needed. His presence was a comfort in and of itself, and I felt my shoulders ease from their rigid tension.
For a moment, we just stood there, his hand remained on my shoulder, a solid anchor amidst the chaos I had been feeling. At that moment, my trust in him surged incredibly up. I knew he would never allow his brother to carry out any evil plan on me.
I lifted my head from Lunaris' chest when I heard the distinct sound of the door at the extreme of the room creaking open from behind me. Slowly turning my gaze, I saw Alpha Brady standing in the doorway. His expression seemed quite shocked as he took in the scene before him. Slowly, Alpha Lunaris removed his palm from my shoulder.
None of us said anything as we locked our gazes. I moved my eyes and looked behind him. I noticed the door he had opened led to a music studio that seemed like a true paradise. I remembered the discussion we had in my room yesterday.
It then dawned on me that Alpha Brady had intended to surprise me, but I misunderstood the whole thing because of fear. It wasn't my fault anyway. I was just scared of what they were hiding.
Alpha Lunaris turned and left the room before I could say thank you. His betas followed suit. I stood helpless in the room, speechless with my face lowered, waiting for Alpha Brady's fury and outburst to rain on me.
Alpha Brady slowly removed his hands from the door and moved toward me with a slow gait. My heart beat harder with each step he took, causing tremors throughout my body in anticipation of a slap.
