"Didn't I tell you I'd be right back?" Alpha Brady spoke in a low whisper. I remained silent for a few moments before responding. "You...you did, but I was scared," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. "Scared of what?" He took a small shrug, his eyes flickering with concern. I opened my mouth to explain everything, but the words wouldn't come out. I couldn't tell him about what I'd heard or the probing questions asked of me when I arrived at Lunar Guardians. Instead, I swallowed hard and kept quiet. Alpha Brady noticed my distress and pulled me even closer, resting my head firmly on his chest. Though his embrace was warm and comforting, it didn't quite soothe me in the same way as Alpha Lunaris' had. I could feel the weight of the secret he was carrying just under the surface
