"Well, hello and thanks for helping,” I said and smiled at the three of them. “There isn't much here, so we won't keep you too long.". Yup, I freaked out a big and clammed up. Nothing new to see here, ladies and gentlemen.
"Nice to meet you.” Blake said, “I will get out of your way and visit with your mom. She is helping with the planning of the mating ball for the pack and wants my input." Blake rolled her eyes and headed toward my dad's truck.
‘Those boys look yummy.’ She linked me teasingly. ‘You gonna take them for a ride and use that in your next book?’
‘You know about those?’ Shoot. Guess my smut monster book writing was out of the bag. Hopefully, Daniel and Dad didn’t know. I told everyone I wrote young adult fantasy novels.
‘Oh yea, but don’t worry, the rest of the family has no idea.’ She stated before focusing on what my mother was talking about.
I stepped back to let them discuss what the best plan of action was to get this done quickly. It also gave me a chance to check them out without someone calling me out. Two of them, Finn and Connor, have the power of Alpha’s but not strong enough for them to be actual Alphas yet. Saint smelled like a beta but the son of one. The way he held himself with a stiff back, shoulders thrown back, and ears paying attention around him made me think he was an Alpha. Maybe he was raised differently. Even Tanner acted like a spoiled toddler more than the future leader.
“Meadow...” My dad shouted. I blinked, clearing my head and looked over at him with a small smile hoping I was hiding my total embarrassment. “You gonna help or do you want to get out of the way?”
“Whoops. Just off in my own head. I saw a few things I wanted to add to my new book I am writing.” Total lie, but I knew I would be using these three in my next smut filled novel.
“Uh huh and what is it you will be adding, dear sister?” My brother teased.
“You write books?” Saint asked looking down at me. “What kind? Childrens books?” He chuckled with Finn and Conner joining him.
I put my hands on my hips and glared at them. “Is that a crack at my height? Because if I were you, I'd keep my mouth shut. Not all of us want to look like a yeti and have the personality of a house mouse.”
I had no idea what his personality was, but joking about my height was a hit below the belt. They didn’t expect my verbal attack and were shocked into silence. My brother snickered and was probably glad he wasn’t on the receiving end of my insults. Normally I would keep going but there was something about these three guys tugging at a part of my heart I normally ignored.
Saints voice was dark and sweet making me think of all the praise and the punishment his daddy vibes could give me. He had short dark brown hair and hard, ice blue eyes. Just getting the one look at his eyes I knew he was the type of guy to feel things on a deeper level with his steal-your-soul glances. I wanted his eyes on me and only me as we enjoyed our release several times a day. Yes, daddy.
Finn was the shortest, standing at maybe a bit over six feet like a damn muscular tree I wanted to climb. The tone of his voice was sultry drawing me in with every word and making me never want to be away from him. He was going to be the dangerous one if we ever got close. He had bright hazel eyes with long reddish-brown hair making my dream of having an Irish man closer to coming true.
Now, Conner-the tallest, youngest, and the least serious of the trio-reminded me of a colorful popsicle that I wanted a big taste of. He was all muscle with gamer tattoos and a happy trail that matched his man bun full of dark red hair. His voice just made me smile and gave me small butterflies in my tummy. I knew he would be the most fun in the bed, where we could try any position and maybe even invent some.
“Alright, Tiger, you won that match.” Dad joked, pushing me away from the trailer. “Meadow, the guys and I have come up with a plan on what order to bring things in. Do you want to show us where they go when we bring them in?” My dad asked, helping a girl out.
“Sounds like a plan, Stan!” I whipped around and smiled at him. He chuckled before starting to direct the guys. I started toward the house to decide where things should go.
“Hey sis, will you look a good Italian restaurant and make reservations for all of us? One last hooray before I leave your bratty ass here!” I stuck my tongue out at my brother. I could feel the new guy’s eyes on me, but I forced myself to ignore them.
“Would you boys like to join us?” My dad asked, pulling my kitchen table out of the moving truck along with Saint and Finn. “Our treat for helping out and I would like to learn more about the town my daughter has decided to live in along with your pack. I might need someone to help keep her out of trouble.”
“It sounds good to me.” Connor said, “We don’t have anywhere to be till nine tonight. Thanks for inviting us." The other two nodded along with him before starting to pull out my chairs. I just ran inside to get a breath and rethink my life choices.
Not only do I have to watch them use their muscles to bring my stuff in, I have to eat dinner with them along with my embarrassing family. Like I need a reputation of a crazy ass family and being a mute nerd whose wolf is a horny b***h. I just needed to focus on goal of the day and that was get this done as fast as possible to get my mom back on the road without any drama. I could do this and I could make it through dinner.
“Hey..um Meadow?” Saint mumbled.
“Yea?” I couldn’t even manage a dang sentence. Ugh. “What’s up?”
“Which bedroom are you taking? The one with the bathroom with the bathroom?” He had a piece of my bed in his muscle-bound arms. I saw the sweat dripping down his arms from the heat outside and I had to hold back a gulp so I could answer.
“Umm how did you know which room had a bathroom in it? Stalker already?” I tried to flirt, but I am pretty sure it fell flat. When I giggled a little his face was still stone cold.
“A buddy lived here a few years ago. Bathrooms don’t usually up and move so I figured it stayed the same.” He rolled his eyes at me. “A stalker would mean I am interested in something which I’m not.” He looked away and headed to the room before I could reply. Ouch that was a hit to my non-existent confidence. What a d**k.
“Well, honey bun, everything we can do is done,” My dad stated wiping his hands on his pants. “I can’t wait for pictures when you have the house the way you want it decorated and such. How about we take these boys to eat?”
“Sounds good, Dad. The place I chose doesn’t do reservations, but they said it hasn’t been too bad of wait tonight.” I grabbed my backpack and headed outside.
“Ok. Do you boys want to ride with us?” My mother asked the guys as I locked up.
“Do you have enough room? We don’t mind driving.” Finn was counting how many people versus how many seats were available in the two trucks. I laughed and it made everyone look at me.
“Oh…umm… There is plenty of room. I’m actually gonna take my bike.” I explained as I waited for them to give me s**t for having a bike.
“Hey, you don’t have to ride your bike. It will take you at least an hour to get there. You can ride with your family and we will drive.” Connor stated as he pointed to their car just a bit down the road. “We probably should anyway, since we have something to do right after.”
“Umm… Not like a bicycle. My motorcycle.” I smiled before heading to my bike.
I love my baby. I bought her from a friend’s dad who bought it to fix up but didn’t have the time. I studied every book I could get my hands on that had any details on my Kawasaki Vulcan 900 custom and fixed it up myself. Dad helped when I couldn’t figure something out but it was mostly me. I did hire out the customer paint job to a friend of mine and she did a kick ass job. The tank was a piece she painted by hand of a thick beautiful girl dressed up like the devil reading a book. The rest was black with neon pink flames.
“Hold up. You have a bike?” Saint asked with a scowl. “I thought you were a book nerd goodie two shoes. Well, at least from all the items I saw in your house.” I glared at him while putting my hands on my hips. He said that like books were the devil.
“Yup. Bought me a bike, fixed it up myself using something called books, and learned to ride from said books. Now that we all understand the power of a book and that I am a big kid let’s go eat.” I turned without another glance, putting my helmet on, and got on my bike. I revved the engine after starting it and headed out. Everyone else followed shortly after.
