I do not particularly remember anymore why Akio and I were friends—not just friends because we had no choice, but friends as in “we really got close and like each other enough to be real” friends. Yet here we are, still friends more than three decades into our life.
Nabanggit ko na wala kaming choice na maging magkaibigan, that is true, in a sense, because we had no choice but to spend our childhood together. Literal na since birth yata magkasama na kami. This is because Akio is actually from the old family that serves our family.
It is kinda of complicated when I try to explain this without sounding like we were making Akio’s clan as our slaves or whatever, but our family came from an old money family. As per whatever tradition it was, old money clans are weal
