Chapter 5: The dream

Chapter Five Sahara's POV The soft wind is bristling outside, the feeling of its cold temperature is like a blanket that is wrapped around my body. I am currently standing just outside the window of my room in aunt Tillie's mansion here in England, she thought maybe I would like to visit here, and she thought right. I like it here Especially the way people live here, they are just so. . . kind and polite but the thing that I don't like that much is, how the way how they view and treated women here. They act like women are just for house material, like only for producing a child, and nothing more. But what they don't know is that women can also do almost all the things men can. I tried to prove to them that but they just laugh and look at me like I was crazy! They act like that because they don't see the way women are treated in my Kingdom. Men treated them as equals and even sometimes the women are above. But here, I can't believe it. Suddenly, strong arms are wrapped around my waist and pulled me into its chest. I smile and lean my back, the heat of its body is now wrapping around me. "What are you thinking, love? I turn to look at him "You" I murmured. He smiles, his ocean blue eyes twinkling. He feigns being surprise and raised his eyebrows. "Me?" I nodded. He turned me around so I am now looking at him, face to face with his arms still wrapped around my waist. "What are you thinking about me?" "That I love you so much," I stated softly but confidently. His soft blue eyes seem to soften more at what I said. He leans in and kisses both of my cheeks and then my forehead and finally, he pecks my lips and rests his forehead against mine, sighing. "I love you more" he murmured. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ "So, what's your deal?" Prince Gabriel asked, gesturing to my tired and down-looking face. We are currently sitting here in the gazebo that gives us a full view of the beautiful garden of the castle. I sighed "Nothing, just a little pressure about the coronation," I mumble tiredly, just looking down at the pasta in front of me. After the dream I just had last night, I can't seem to sleep anymore; my mind is going haywire, so I just stay up all night thinking of the man. Those ocean blue eyes His face had gone foggy in my mind, so the only thing I can remember is his eyes, and also the feeling of his warm touch. I don't often dream like this but I remember when I was about 18 years old, this man also showed in my night of sleep, it happened almost about 7 months or more, but it suddenly stops and as much as I liked it, I felt sad and miserable without the dream. And that's when my depression started Suddenly, I heard someone sighed "Sahara, don't think much about it, you know we will support you, right? We will not let you lead this country alone," he said. I raised my head to look at him and smile that didn't quite reach my eyes. "Yeah. I know" I say, trying to sound grateful. I heard him cleared his throat. "Did you hear the rumor?" I resist the urge to roll my eyes at him. Sometimes I think, is he really is a man? Because he sounds like a girl that is always looking for something to gossip about. "Hm?" I look at him absentmindedly. "Before I tell you this, just promise me you wouldn't tell to anyone that I told you this." I sighed "Okay, I won't tell anyone I promise," I murmured in boredom. I'm not entirely excited about the rumors he tells because all of it is like, some influential person had moved here, there's this guy that looks like a werewolf, and the old widow living in the farthest side of the Kingdom is a witch. And I am not interested in all of that "When I visited the village yesterday, I heard people talking about an assassin," he starts. My eyebrows raised in interest; it's the first time. I look at him, with a now interest and curious expression. "And?" I asked, slightly eager. "They said that the assassin was tasked to kill a member of a royal family, but didn't know what Kingdom it is targeting." I froze. I lean my head a little closer and whisper. "Did you hear them say why they wanted this member of a royal family dead?" He shakes his head "No. But I did hear that the assassin is skilled." I suddenly feel this intensity like someone is watching me. "So you better be prepared and always be alert Sahara, don't trust anyone, especially here," he advised and slightly warn. I nodded "Of course, I'm always alert and observant. No need to worry about me, worry about yourself." I slightly teased; the stress of the dream last night is slowly leaving me. He narrows his eyes and crosses his arms over his chest, and then scoffs. "No one will want me dead because I'm just a simple prince, I'm not competing with anyone so they don't have a reason to assassinate me. But you, my lovely cousin Sahara, you are the crown princess and you know that it's very dangerous and difficult to be one." I slowly look down, his words slamming at me all at once. Did anyone want me gone? dead? Is it me that they want to assassinate? I never thought that someone will want the throne because, why they didn't object when my mother announced me being the future Queen? I bit my bottom lips and look at the garden on my left side. But when my eyes landed on it, I feel myself froze and my eyes widen. Caelan The name is so foreign in my mind and I feel like it didn't suit him. He is the one that has been watching me, the feeling earlier, it is him. He is standing beside a big apple tree slightly far away from the flowers. The look in his eyes is like a knife stabbing in my heart. He is looking at me with such hatred I have never seen in my life. Like I betrayed him or something, and what is more confusing is that it is affecting me. The amusement in his face yesterday is the look that I wanted to see on him; when he saw my face burned in pure embarrassment and I practically ran back to my new bedroom to escape my misery. But now, the way he looks at me hurts my inside. "Sahara? you okay?" I closed my eyes and turns in his direction, and forced a smile. "Yeah, Yeah" I nodded. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have told you that. I know you're already pressure and I just add another thing for you to worry about. But don't worry I'm sure it's not you. You are too kind and precious, they can't do it. Just forget what I said about the rumor." "It's. . . it's fine" I nod my head understandingly. "You are just worried and you wanted to warn me, and thank you for that. I appreciate it." I smile at him and he smiles back. "Of course we're family and we need to support and love each other no matter what happens." From the corner of my eyes, I saw Caelan walking angrily back inside the castle. What the hell is his problem? I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. If it weren't for our circumstances, I would think that he is a jealous boyfriend that misunderstood my relationship with my cousin. "Excuse me, princess Sahara, prince Gabriel," I snapped my eyes to my left to see a servant looking down. "Yes?" Gabriel raised an eyebrow at her. "I apologize your Majesties but the Queen wanted to talk to you, Princess."
