Saga sat down next to Gale, “she looks like Aerwyna. She’s like her twin. Jinri created her from Aerwyna’s image. Has Jinri ever met Aerwyna?”
Seraphim stared at the sleeping fairy, “no. They never had a chance. Aerwyna was dying when I found her. The demon witch killed her, and up to now we still haven’t found her brother.”
Seraphim sighed, “Vreíte ti mními mou… Find my memory..."
"His crystals were scattered and Gale knew where they were. Jinri entrusted the wind to do his bidding. Now we need to find those crystal fragments. That could be the way for him to get his memory back.”
“My lord?” Gale stood up.
“Are you better now?” Seraphim asked.
“I can’t be far from the Land of Faes for too long. The fragments of my lord Jinri’s crystal have no other guardian except for me. As much as I’d like to rest in your chamber, I cannot stay.”
“So, it’s in the Land of Faes? That explains why I wanted to get inside that barrier,” Seraphim said.
“It’s scattered in the land of faes, my king. We need to get to it first before anyone else can.”
“We understand. We could accompany you to the barrier. Or maybe you could help us get inside? We could help you collect the fragments easily,” Saga asked.
“Forgive me, my lords. I could get in and out of the barrier without any incantations, but for your kind?” She looked at Seraphim and Seth.
Seth muttered, “It will not be easy.”
“How about for werewolves?” Saga asked.
“No wolves have tried, your majesty,” Gale stood closer to the window.
“Sera? Maybe I should try and get into the Land of Faes. Maybe I could get in?” Saga looked at Seraphim and turned to Seth for approval.
Seth only sighed and looked at Saga, "we cannot risk it, your majesty."
“Know this, your majesties, the Land of Faes has been different since Lord Jinri’s appearance. The fairies are more afraid that they see anyone as a threat.”
Seraphim wondered, “afraid of who, Jinri? He’s a fairy too, only half-breed.”
“All the more reason why they are afraid. Half breeds are known to be more powerful than a normal creature. I think the fairies are afraid that the light fairy would be consumed easily by greed for power.”
“Jinri is not that kind of person. His humility and kindness could not be matched by anything in this world. He would even sacrifice himself for the good of all mankind and creatures, which is something I despise. Not every human kind or creature kind is worth sacrificing his life for.”
Gale looked at Seraphim, “however, your majesty, the creatures living beyond the barrier are not just afraid of the light fairy. They are more afraid of you being the light fairy’s mate.”
“I already know that. That’s the reason why they wouldn’t let me in their land because they are too afraid of me. My mother even had to protect them from me, she had to build that barrier.”
Gale flew towards Seraphim, “still and all, my king, you have Lord Jinri and he can open the barrier for you.”
Seraphim was surprised with what the wind fairy said, “how sure are you?”
“Lord Jinri is the direct descendant of the light fairies, the same household the queen fairy came from. Only Lord Jinri is a half breed, an offspring of a human and a royalty fairy.”
“Jinri is a royalty?” Saga gasped.
“How could I have not known that? That’s why his blood has that distinctive smell and taste, it’s too extraordinary. I thought it was just because he was my mate, but now, he’s a royalty,” Seraphim chuckled quietly.
“All light fairies are royalty. They are descended from angels.”
Seraphim’s eyes widened, “angels?”
“You should know that, my king…” Gale whispered.
“What do you mean?”
“You are his opposite, his arch enemy, the darkness that could consume him. You are his demon…”
Seraphim was surprised with everything that Gale has told them. The wind fairy handed him a necklace with a small wind orb and stared into his eyes.
“This is another part of Lord Jinri’s memory, only you should hear it. Blow a small wind on it and it will show you what's in it.”
Seraphim stared down at the small orb with a small whirlwind inside it. He looked up and Gale’s eyes were dark violet. She smiled at him and Seraphim smiled back.
“I should go now, your majesty. I will take my reward now,” Gale whispered.
“Reward? What kind of reward?” Seraphim asked.
Much to his surprise, Gale leaned in and pressed her lips at the corner of his mouth. Kissing half of his lips. Seraphim was shocked he didn’t get the chance to decline anymore. He heard Seth and Saga gasped behind them.
“I always wondered when I was still a wind, how does it feel to kiss the king? And now I know.” Gale bowed her head and curtsied.
“Call me whenever you need me, your majesty. I’m at your disposal until the wind no longer blows,” Gale whispered a promise.
“I’ll make sure of that.” Seraphim smiled.
She closed her eyes and disappeared with the wind, touching Seraphim’s face gently.
“That’s the second time your kiss got stolen by another fairy…” Saga teased him.
“I guess fairies adore me…” Seth chuckled.
*
Seraphim was alone in his chamber that night and took out the necklace with the wind orb pendant from his pocket.
“What could this be?”
He placed it in his palms and blew on it. A wind cloud of memory starts to form. He stood up when he realized who it was in the memory. He touched the image of Jinri caressing his face.
“Jinri… I miss you so much…”
Seraphim listened closely. Every word he utters were making his heart happy at the same time lonely from missing him.
“Sera... I’ll come back for you…”
Seraphim watches as his mate kisses him. A blood of tears fell from his eyes from so much sorrow of being away from his mate. He has not even fed since he woke up.
Then the next scene of the wind’s memory made the king cry more, but this time out of bliss. Jinri leaned closer to Seraphim’s face and whispered the words he has been wanting to hear from him since the day they met.
“And once I'm back… I want you to turn me into a vampire… and be together for eternity...”
Seraphim blood of tears wouldn’t stop falling from the happiness he felt. He finally asked him to turn him into a vampire. He held onto the necklace orb and wore it around his neck.
He teleported inside Jinri’s room and found him sleeping in his bed. Seraphim held onto the necklace and sat down next to Jinri. He stared at him with longing and happiness at the same time.
He reached out to touch his cheeks with the back of his fingers and his skin was still as soft as the last time he kissed it.
“I’ll take you home soon, my love. I will finish everything that started five years ago and then… We will live together as vampires, just you and me, for eternity…”
He leaned in and lightly kissed Jinri’s soft lips. Seraphim stood up quietly by the window.
“Who’s there?” He heard Jinri whisper.
Seraphim teleported out of the room before Jinri could open the lights. The king was already on the other side of the street walking away, when he heard Jinri’s window opened. He turned around and even this far their eyes met. It was night time but it was as if Jinri could see him.
/Jinri… /
He saw how Jinri squinted his eyes. Seraphim turned around to leave until he heard a voice in his mind.
/Who are you? Why do you keep showing in my dreams? /
Seraphim turned around surprised. He stared at Jinri while he stayed by his window trying to look for him in the crowd of people walking. For the first time in so long he heard his mate’s voice again.
