Chapter 4 Crying

888 Words
Blaze's POV "Go home with me." Aerilyn seemed startled by my words, lifting her head to look at me in shock, trying hard to discern whether I was joking. Quickly, she shook her head and refused me, "No, thank you." The expression on her face was as if she had seen something disgusting. I could swear she probably thought it would be better to sleep in the park than under the same roof as me. What? Would she be cursed to live with me?! The more she tried to refuse me, the more curious I became about how she would fare at my place. Besides, where else did she have to go now? I crossed my arms intentionally and asked, "Then where are you going? To find Monty or Nicky? Don't tell me you'll forgive them just like that." Sure enough, her brows furrowed quickly, and she gritted her teeth, reverting to her old self. "It's none of your business!" She snapped angrily at me. Well, if she could still speak so loudly, then it didn't seem like a big deal. I pursed my lips and nodded in agreement, "Right. I'll let Luna handle it then." With that, I walked past her and left. If it were my parents handling this matter, it wouldn't be so simple. I bet she didn't want to make a big deal out of it. As I expected, not five steps later, her voice came from behind me, "I'll come with you! Wait for me!" See, that's how well I understand her. *** Soon, we arrived at my home, the residence of the Alpha of this pack. We had barely walked through the garden to the front gate when my parents opened it. My mother, Luna Liv, seemed surprised, her soft green eyes widening as she looked at the person beside me and said, "Aerilyn?" She also noticed the injuries on Aerilyn's body. Walking down the steps, she touched Aerilyn's face and asked, "What's wrong, dear?" My father, Alpha Bryan, stood beside her, continuously questioning me with his eyes. His gaze seemed to suspect that I was behind all of this. And as my mother saw Aerilyn stuttering and unable to say anything, she also started to doubt me. The way they looked at me was like they were looking at a criminal suspect. If it were really me, I wouldn't evade responsibility. But this time, it really wasn't me! "Nicky is her only friend and tonight she found out that her best friend is fu*king her boyfriend, so she's lying and she has nowhere to go and I will make the guest bed for her," I'm not lying. "No, I..." her stuttering makes an unfamiliar tightness form in my chest, the way she glances between my parents and I is very uncomfortable to watch. "I'm fine," her soft voice breaks as she speaks. I rest my hand on her shoulder, her body tenses below my touch as she turns her head and stare up at me, "Stop being a coward, you got cheated on. He doesn't love you, move on," I shrug. My eyes widen when her face twitches up. "Blaze," My mother grits out my name in anger. "What?" I glare at her through my lashes. "Go make the bed," she crosses her arms, looking angry and she kind of has the same expression as Aerilyn on her face. "Yes, Madam!" I deadpan and walk straight past her to the stairs. I get the necessary things for the bed and make it, I finish in the bathroom and grab a few of my shirts for her to wear after she showers. I stare at my black t-shirt laying on the white bedding when I hear my mother bring her up the stairs. "Blaze," My mother's silent warning laced in my name makes it clear she wants me to leave Aerilyn alone, but she has nothing to worry about because that's exactly what I'm going to do, well at least try to do. It amuses me when she gets resentful. Since she started to date Monty, I have found admiration in our bickering, but my mind knows that I can't stand her. She's uptight and a perfectionist and I have lost out on too many great nights because of her. "Don't worry about staying here, no one will bother you." My mother's attentiveness has a calming affect on her, but as her eyes connect with mine, they turn cold. "There's a shirt, goodnight Air," I wink and she rolls her eyes as she looks in the opposite direction of me. "Blaze, leave. Both of you have a big day tomorrow," "Yes ma'am," I salute my mother as I exit the room and walk right into my own next door. After a few minutes, I hear my mom's footsteps disappear up to the top floor of our three story house and once I become alpha, I want a house just like ours. I was about to put on my music, but the sound of soft cries makes my hand freeze and my head slowly turns towards the wall where it's coming from. It's right where the bathroom is and the water running through the pipes suddenly silences any sound, but I know that she didn't stop crying. I should do something, shouldn't I?
