Carrie gave a nervous little wave to the gathered Alphas as she stepped up to the starting line that Tiffany directed her to, then turned her attention back to the entrance of the obstacle course which was shaped like a wolf’s snarling maw. Going first was not the best place to be in. Arguably, it was the worst because if she’d been in any other place then she would at least have been able to see how other people tackled the different obstacles. But, that also meant that there would have been more time for her nerves to set in, and Carrie tended to do worse the longer she had to get in her head about things. So, maybe this was a good thing.
