Desmond knew that he should tell her no. That there were strict rules against fraternizing with the contestants, which was very much the truth. But, how could he deny her? He couldn’t. So he did the only thing he could think of. Des swallowed hard and forced himself to turn away. He went back to his trolley without speaking any further, knowing that if he opened his mouth he would only get them both in trouble. He continued with his deliveries, and returned to the concierge office, feeling like he’d just finished a marathon instead of having spent twenty minutes delivering food at a relatively plodding pace.
