“No, there’s a mistake,” she says. “Sophia is probably just checking on some patients she’d already seen. You know how she is.”
Dad takes the pills from my hand, popping one of them through the aluminum backing. He holds it up and licks it, a look of fury coming to his face. “Wolfsbane.”
Benjamin stands and is next to him before I can even move, taking another pill and doing the same. “It’s a low dose. Wouldn’t be able to notice the smell, but the effects would build. If you swallowed it whole, you probably wouldn’t even taste it.”
