She’s been so quiet since she got back. I can tell she hasn’t stopped thinking, probably about everything that could be a potential danger and I can feel how scared she is. She’s trying to hide it, but she can’t keep it from me. She made dinner and played with the kids, but the second they were occupied, she was back in the books about magic and at it again.
“Lily told me to ask the books for help,” she says quietly as I come out of the room the twins are in, finally asleep for the night. “She said Andrew probably isn’t reading, but he can feel the energy of the books.”
I shrug. That sounds insane, but I don’t understand how their magic works. “Have you asked the books?”
