I’ve taken over Robert’s office while he’s gone. David knocks before he enters, though I’m not sure why. I’ve done everything I can to show him that we trust him but still, he always knocks before entering.
“Come in,” I call, and he finally enters. “Close the door.”
He nods and does as instructed before approaching the desk. I shake my head and move to the bar, pouring a drink from a bottle I’m sure I gave to Randall. I hand him a glass and lead him over to the couch.
“How much do you know about Lily?” I ask him, not bothering with pleasantries.
“A bit,” he says, taking a long drink from the glass. Interesting. He’s nervous.
