Rob charges up the stairs to the cabin and grabs me roughly, landing two punches across my face before I even have the chance to try to stop him.
I see Molly’s hands go to her face, cupping it in pain as she steps off the porch, but misses a step. Thankfully, David was close enough to grab her before she hit the ground.
I grab Rob’s arms and pin him to the ground, my arm across his windpipe enough to control him, but with enough space to move and not kill him. Did he forget about our bond, or does he not understand it?
I look up and find my girl still in David’s arms, who looks thoroughly confused. Dad steps over to her and checks on her, nodding to me that she’s alright.
