Chapter one- Can't wait

The crisp night air whistled in Amelia's ear and she sprinted through the dense forest, her heart raising with fear and Adrenaline. Her instincts told her to keep moving, to outrun the pack of wolves that chased her relentlessly. But her body, battered and bruised, screamed for her to stop and rest a little.

Suddenly, she stumbled on a root and fell to the pack's ground, gasping for air. She knew that this was the end of the road for her- she was too tired to keep going, too injured to defend herself from the wolves. She closed her eyes, waiting for the inevitable. “Aaaaaarhhhh, she screamed.”

But instead of teeth sinking into her beautiful flesh, she felt strong arms lift her and carry her away from the danger. His body was warm and served as a safe place for Amelia.

She opened her eyes to see Jeffrey, her childhood friend and crush, looking at her with concern etched on his face. And at that moment, Amelia knew that her life would never be the same again.

***Flashback***

Amelia has known Jeffrey for years, ever since they were both young wolves in the pack. They had grown up together, training side by side and sharing their hopes and dreams for the future.

As they got older, Amelia found herself drawn to Jeff in a way that went beyond friendship. She was captivated by his strength, handsomeness, and courage and also admired the way he always stood up for what he believed in.

Most of the time, she loved the way he made her feel. When she was with him, she felt like anything was possible. She felt very brave and confident like she could take the whole world.

Despite her growing feelings for him, Amelia knew that she wasn't Jeff's mate, that he had a fated mate - a she-wolf chosen by the moon goddess to be his partner for life. It was a bond that could never be broken, and Amelia knew that she could never compete with it.

But that didn't stop her from yearning for him whenever they were apart. She wished he could be with her all the time, spend a lot of time together and have fun.

She couldn't care less about him because he was all he wanted in a man. But what bothered her the most is that Jeff doesn't love her the way she does.

She loved him so much and even after choosing his fated mate who was her ex-best friend. She felt very sad. She knew there was nothing she can do but accept her fate.

What annoyed Amelia the most is, Jeff doesn't care anymore about her since he found out about his mate. Even at that, Amelia couldn't resist the pull she felt towards him.

Despite the hurt and heartbreak that Jeff had caused her, Amelia couldn't help but feel drawn to him. She knew it was foolish to let her emotions get the better of her, but she couldn't deny the way her heart leaped whenever he was near.

Amelia had loved him for years, even when he found his fated mate. She had tried to move on, to find someone else who could make her heartbeat faster, but no one had ever measured up to Jeff. Is it his handsome face, Strength, or his courage?

She has always admired his loyalty and unwavering support to his pack and his family. But it was the little things that she loved the most- the way he listened to her when she needed to talk, the way he looked at her like the most important person in the world.

But she knew she could never have him, not in the way that she wanted. He was already taken, bound to another by the mate bond that was stronger than any other force in the world.

She tried to tell herself that it was just a crush and that she would eventually get over it. But deep down, she knew that it was more than that. She knew that she was in love with him and that nothing will ever change that.

***Five years ago***

Blue moon pack

“Let's go now, we'd be late for school”, She Mumbled to Jeff who was still inside eating.

Jeff loved food a lot and couldn't afford to starve himself. He always spends a lot of time whenever he's eating.

Amelia, who was in a hurry, was very frustrated at his behavior. She has to wait for him, she can't afford to leave him and let other girls have him around them.

Whenever other girls see Amelia with Jeff, they get jealous and stay away from him. He was very handsome and wanted by all girls. They wish to be his girlfriend and mate but didn't get a chance to.

Jeff is a very arrogant guy but has an innocent and cute face that makes the girls love him even more.

“Give me some minutes, I will join you soon”, Jeff replied, still eating curiously as if he was searching for something in the food.

“Please be quick, we'd be late and you know what will happen if we are”.

He was now done with the food, he packed the plates to the kitchen and washed the plate before leaving.

“Jeff, I hope you washed your plate before leaving for school”, Luna Gloria, Jeff’s mom uttered.

“Yes Mom, see you in the afternoon”, Jeff Mumbled, coming downstairs so we leave for school.

Amelia looked at him with an expression on her face, she gulped and watched him coming towards where she was.

“Uhh mm, Y-You look good”, she compliments him still glaring at him.

“Ohh, thanks, You look amazing dear”, Jeff smirked, reaching out for the door.

I can't wait to clock eighteen and find out he's my mate. Ohh goddess, let this be true. I want him to be my mate.
