Forgetting the Alpha King

The Council

Kana’s POV

As of right now there are 5 kingdoms in each realm: Werewolves, Witches and Warlocks, Vampires, Demons and Angels. We do have Dwarfs, Fairies, and other magical creatures in all kingdoms living too, but the above are the representatives of each kingdom. Each year one representative will meet in a council hall to go over a review of the year for their kingdom. Standing as head over everyone in this realm is the vampire king. 

From what I hear he is very fair and also the oldest here. Vampires can live for life spans of years over any magic folk. They do drink blood, but they've made an artificial blood that they've been surviving on for decades since it's against the law to drink human blood without consent. Not saying that all vampires acknowledge that. There are some that go against the council rules but the vampire task force leaves no mercy for vampires who go against them. 

Each kingdom has their own rules and the others do not interfere unless necessary. That is when the council comes together to decide how to fix an issue as one. They do this annual meet and greet to keep peace between the magic realm and also to know what each kingdom is doing too. Mom and dad both came as representatives for the king since his first born was born a few days ago. Firstborns are really important to all magic folk. They hold your families authority in power. They represent your family no matter what rank your family is and pretty much is the voice of your family too. 

That is why the king stayed since this heir will take his place as king one day. Mom and dad hopes he is my companion and I looked at them with disgust. I am 18 years old now ewwwwww. Mom says age doesn’t matter in their kingdom since they can manipulate it and plus they live with their Rome’s and Jules for hundreds of years. Still ewwwww. 

“Time to get ready” says dad as he starts packing up camp. 

“Okay” both mom and I yell back at dad. 

We get ourselves situated, pack everything up, change our clothes and load the car. Dad turns the car on and starts towards the castle. 

I didn't want to go to this council  meeting with mom and dad, but they forced me since they wanted to spend time with me before I started College. I am leaving out of country to study more of my background at a supernatural School called Leroys. My parents wanted me to understand who I am, where I come from and how to control my powers. Since they don't know much about demon and angel powers they told me that they casted a shield spell on me to make it look like I have witch powers instead. But in reality, I just found out that my real mom was the one who did that. 

My powers started increasing in middle school when my emotions started to take a toll on my mind. A very important friend of mine moved away due to her father beating up her and her mom. So her mom decided to move to keep them safe. Hurt was hard for me to control and my parents had to find shields and incantations to assist me with controlling more of my powers. Luckily it was simple shields and incantations and nothing to big for them. 

So they decided it's the perfect time to make that change for me to go to a school where children like me with powers can go to and learn more about magic folk secretly. I guess kinda like Harry Potter, but not just for witches and warlocks lol. I think we do have schools for just each creature, but we will find out later. Mom and dad pretty much sheltered me my whole life so I’m kind of new to everything. I will go to school as a witch and hide my demon and angel powers from everyone. Mom created this potion that I can sniff everyday that will keep my senses in check. The cute part about this is that she placed it in a charm necklace that has our family portrait in it. 

We drove up to this huge castle looking structure that looked like some building where kings and queens back in King Arthur's time had castles. I loved how it looked with its own rustic elegance. It had a bridge and everything to get to it. When the bridge came down you can see the flags of different realms flowing in the wind at the top of the castle. As we entered the gate you can see a crap load of cars parked. I asked mom what was going on since I thought it was just the council who was going to be here this weekend. She said something about a ball that happens each year where werewolves meet their mates. It's kind of cool how they get to find someone who is forever theirs, but it's just not for me. I can't just love someone when someone makes a bond between me and some stranger. That is so weird to me.  

I want to love someone who loves me for me and not because they are my destined mate. To love someone because they have to instead of loving them because they just click is just absurd. Makes no sense and I feel like its forced. Like what if you never had the bond, would you really be with that person if the bond was not there? I think not. But hey that's how they live their lives and that's just fine with me. Demons, angels, vampires and witches get to find their own mates while werewolves are assigned mates. Once a demon, angel or witch finds their eternal partner their title is changed to Wicks, Rome’s and Jules or Grace. I want to find my own partner not get mated to one. 

This place is literally breathtaking. I thought the outside was beautiful but the inside is just as enchanting. It definitely looks like an old school castle with knights in shining armor lining against the wall and huge portraits of I guess passed kings and queens. They even have diamond chandeliers and candle wicks that surround the whole castle to light up the rooms. The butler showed us to our room and of course I got my own. 

I wish the king and queen were here.  I'm so happy for them. I love our king and queen. They know my secret as well and they actually let me call them auntie and uncle instead of king and queen. They always call me the special princess who will make peace in this world. I don't know what that means but I just go with it since the king always conjures up ice cream sundaes for me and the queen snaps her fingers and a caramel apple with nuts pops up right in front of me every time. I know I know I’m a bit spoiled. 

Looks to be about 5 stories high. Good thing we found an elevator. I would’ve just died or even tried my wings hmmm. Wait no can’t do that everyone will find out my secret if I use my wigs, ugh. The struggle is real. If I had to walk up 5 flights of stairs I would have someone carry me instead lol.  So it looks like the bottom floor has a huge ballroom, kitchen, a few other rooms like dining room and such and I think we passed a theater room. We move towards an elevator in the back middle of stairs which is pretty cool since it’s hidden. We are sent to the 4th floor. 

As we passed through the elevator we see a shitload of kids a bit older then me all scrambling and running around the castle with clothes and shoes and their attire. 

“Looks like they are getting ready for the ball tonight, Kana” says mom. 

I forgot about the ball. Sort of weird to have the council meeting today and the ball later that night. 

“The food smells wonderful” I say while thinking of sneaking into the kitchen later for a peak. 

“ Don’t you dare think of anything mischievous during our stay here, Kana” says mom looking through my soul. 

I put up a peace sign with my fingers and smile as we go up to the 4th floor. 2nd floor is for females as 3rd floor is for males for the mating ball. 4th floor is for the council and the werewolf king is on the 5th floor. I did realize that everyone stared at us while we went up through the elevators instead of walking. Guest that are only special people or high ranked people use the 4th floor and above. There are only 2 sets of elevators next to each other. We had to use a certain one since the other elevator was going through a maintenance repair due to the demon representative playing a prank on the angel representative. Something about electric eels in the elevator. I will find out more about that later. 

“This elevator is fancy mom” I said to my mom amazed. 

She just nodded back to me. It had a t.v in it and a couch with like fancy wallpaper and frames. I mean it’s a short ride yet it has all of this in it. And is that a water fountain? Omg it is. How fancy. I want to see if that comes with real water or maybe Hawaiian Punch like in Deeds lol. I sat on the couch and lifted my feet. This is the most comfortable couch I have ever sat in. I’m just going to lay back while we go up. We get to the 4th floor and find our rooms and hangout till the meeting starts.
