{Victoria}
"You don't have to follow me everywhere," I groan at Dexter's prancing.
He rolls his eyes and flicks a strand of hair away from my face. "I don't follow you everywhere. You go to the bathroom by yourself, I mean, c'mon, I'm not some creep."
"Yep, keep telling yourself that." I grin and he scowls. We were walking up to the Connor Marketing Co. skyscraper entrance.
"Besides, I'm here for a greater purpose." He explains with so much pride that I can't help but smile. "Your mom made me in charge of making those....things jealous. You know, sweet revenge."
"By things you mean the triplets, right?" I try to open the front door but it felt like tough metal. I catch Dex smirking and embarrassment makes it's way to my cheeks. I was about to use my abilities to shove this annoying door out of the way but Dex opened it.
"Still can't open heavy doors without your abilities? Wow, I thought we've come along way from that already." He laughs but this time it was my turn to scowl. Once inside, his eyes roam the room before a mischievous glint bloom in his eyes. He drapes one arm over me and I raise an eyebrow. I've grown used to it since we practically grew up together but he had a different purpose now.
"What? I have to complete my mission or else I'll have to face an angry Luna back home," he pouts and I pat his head. "Stop that," he growls.
"What? You mean this?" I pat his head again and bite my lip to keep from bursting into fits of laughter. I try to pat his head again but he grabs my wrist.
"It makes me look like some sort of dog. All you have to do next is say 'Good boy!' So no, I don't like that," he mumbled but then nudges me so that I look forward. How could I not notice the triplets glare towards us? I shake my head in disbelief as he ruffles my hair and tries to look like he is in love with me. Honestly, my mom must've threatened him to bring her back juicy details because he looks stressed in trying to make the things jealous.
"Hey! Beauty doesn't create itself!" I whine and fix my messed up hair.
"I can't relate. It happens naturally for me," Dex poses and fixes his gold curls.
"Keep telling yourself that, GoldiLocks," I snort and he feigns a deep wound in his heart.
"Harsh, but now I have to get my acting skills polished because we are now approaching the things," He straightens up and dusts off his shoulders. He looks pretty regal with his suit. Well, he threw a hissy fit and took off the jacket but still, he looked like a refined rich boy. I wore a black skirt that reached mid-thigh and a tucked-in cotton long-sleeved shirt. "But you're gonna have to help me. Think of it as a competition- whoever makes the things more jealous wins."
I smiled mischievously. "Game on."
"Oh, hey Victoria and Dexter, right?" Ashlyn piped up as we sat down on the couch right in front of theirs. We had to wait here until the head director came to assign us our jobs.
Dexter only spared her a glance. "Yep, Madison, right?"
Ashlyn shook her head. "No, Ashlyn."
"Strange, Madison would've fitted you perfectly- means Not hot enough to be as much as a b***h as she is." He smirks and she ducks her head down. I don't bother to hide my laughter in spite of Asher's glare on me.
"Victoria," Asher said but it sounded more like a warning.
"Oh, sorry! You've met Dex already." I sounded annoyingly nice.
"Dex?" Alec gritted his teeth.
"Well, yes," I paused to look at Dex who seemed to be laughing his ass off in his head. "He's my beta if you know what I mean."
"You mean, he is your lover?" Ashlyn didn't bother to hide her excitement. Brett was fussing around in her arms. I left Rose and Rosalie with Lucas since he was staying home today.
"Prove it," Asher stood smirking, looking smug as if he had already caught us in our little trick. He shouldn't underestimate us that much. Discreetly, I used my ability Facade to create an illusion of a mark on my neck. My, my, will this be fun.
I tilted my head so that my "mark" could be visible to them. "Is this enough?"
I knew this would be a bad idea but I didn't think fists would start flying. Correction- I knew that fists would start flying it's just that I didn't put much attention to that slight problem. So when the triplets started to punch Dex I created a force field around the triplets and pressed them against a wall.
I crouched down to examine the bruise blooming on Dex's cheek. He leaned in close to whisper, "I guess you're winning but not for long."
We both held back our urges to gag as we tried to act lovingly with each other as I placed a kiss on his bruised cheek. The pounding of fists against my strong forcefield was muffled as I blinked at the three angry triplets. At least this ought to teach them a lesson- I'm available, yes, but only for a limited time before someone else wins my heart.
I erased the mark on my neck and their wolves calmed down. Their eyes still pitch black with rage. Dex sprang to his feet and chuckled, "Now that was quite entertaining."
The triplets' eyes widened at the realization before staying their angry selves. They never uttered a word as I released them from their hold.
"Victoria Davis-Adler?" Someone tapped my shoulder. I turned and found the director of the company- Mr. White.
"That's me."
"Come to my office, I have something to discuss with you." He ushered me forward and I shrugged as Dex trudged along.
I sat down in his office and Mr. White sat in his big wheelchair. "I'd like to get straight to business so I'll be straight"
"What is wrong?" I asked, furrowing my brows.
"I'd like you to own 55% percent of a brand-new company in California. It happens to be an hour away from your pack. I know this may seem like a surprise but your grades are beyond excellent and Alpha Brandon recommended me with you."
Wow. My dream had come true. I get to own the shares of a company! Hell, yes. "Of course I accept!" I said a bit too eagerly.
"That is great! Paperwork needs to be done but once it is you will graduate from Harvard early and go back to California." He nods and points to the door. "I'll make sure my assistant keeps in contact with you."
I nod, still in a daze as I walk out of his office. Dex bombards me "What did he say?! What did he want?"
"I GET TO PARTIALLY OWN A COMPANY! I'm coming home! I can't wait to see everyone again!"
"That's great! Now I won't have to follow you around at a high-class University."
We high-five and head back to our original spot to grab my fallen purse. Ace was gripping it tightly in his arms. "Can I have it back?" I ask.
"Yeah, sure." He mutters and I flush- not in an embarrassment but in anger.
"Keep acting like a dickhead and I'll leave your sorry ass. Actually, I'll leave the three of you soon. I'm leaving this hell so your time is up. Choose now between the omega and me so I can finally leave your sorry asses."
Ace began to stumble with his words as he looked back to Alec and Asher for support. Pain swelled in my heart and began to tug it down but I pulled it back up. "If you have to choose between me and her, choose her because if you really loved me, there wouldn't be any other choice."
I know those words stung like a b***h because even Dex flinched. "Victoria don't make this harder than it has to be," Alec pleaded but no, I can't stand and watch as they start to toy around with my feelings while they jack off an omega.
"Then let me make it easier." I glared at the three of them. "I, Victoria Davis-Adler, reject you, Asher, Alec, and Ace, therefore renouncing my place as Luna and my place by your side."
