{Victoria}
"Okay. Number one, they aren't biologically my daughters. Everyone is fostering babies based on their simulation. Number two, I had them with Lucas which means I have to go with their father!" I protest relentlessly.
"NO, I won't have you raise children with another male!" Asher growls.
"You do know that the babies will have to be returned to the organization and that we are not raising them. Just taking care of them temporarily." Lucas cut in.
"I. Don't. Care. I am her Alpha so she is coming with me." My temper threatened to release fully but a let a light match flare.
"Actually, no. If you think that I am some moronic omega whose willing to submit to their Alpha then you are poorly mistaken. Besides, you keep choosing Ashlyn over me so why can't I choose someone over you!" I scream.
He runs his hands in his hair, tugging at its ends painfully. I grumble incoherent stuff and begin to collect all of the baby supplies that surround Lucas and me. Man, there was a ton of stuff. I swung one back bag/pouch on Lucas's shoulders causing him to whine, "What's in here? It feels like bricks- no, like a whole building!"
I roll my eyes, forgetting for just a second that there was an extremely angry Alpha behind me. What do I have to fear? I'm an Alpha as well. If not than a more powerful Alpha. "Let's go, Lucas."
He stood next to me and I kept an unsteady gaze on Ashlyn who was cooing at the baby boy in Asher's arms. Asher stood rigidly, watching me warp away, teleporting to what I assume was Lucas's dorm.
He dropped everything but the Rose and plopped on the couch. "I have never been that terrified about an Alpha wanting to rip me to shreds because I had "twins" with his mate."
"Don't feel too special. He does that to every male."
"Now might not be the best time to mention that Ashlyn has her dorm right next to mine?"
"She what?!" I groaned. Asher will obviously sleep over her dorm and then the omega will be ahead. Great. "Nevermind about that. We have two lives depending on us for two weeks."
"Hell, yeah!" He replied enthusiastically.
"I have an archery competition at 3:00," I stated. He grinned like the Cheshire cat.
"That's why the baby daddy will be cheering you on with our daughters."
"You know since they're twins...Can we change their names to Rose and Rosalie?"
"Um, sure. There goes my grandma's name." He sighs dejectedly but I could tell he was faking it.
"Your grandma's name was Rebecca?"
"Of course! You dare question my credibility?" He mocks feign terror.
Rose burst out crying in Lucas's arms. He jumped, terrified but didn't drop her. He began to panic. "I do not know how to calm down a crying baby!"
I also began to panic. I wasn't trained to raise a baby! Only omegas were! Ugh, Ashlyn must be showing off her motherly skills at this point. More points for her. "Um, maybe we could try giving her some formula?"
At this point,Rosalie began to fuss so I hurried into his small dorm kitchen. I looked at the formula can. How hard can it be? Just warm milk, two or so cups of the powder, shake it up and voila! Right? I hurriedly made the formula and we offered them to the babies but they kicked softly at the bottle, causing it to go overboard and crash on the floor. "How old are they?!"
"11 months, old enough to stop drinking motherly milk." Lucas stood up, placed both girls in their tiny cribs that we got as a supply and left the dorm. Where was he going? Was he going to leave me with this mess? I grabbed a wipe and got down on all fours. I was cleaning up the milk mess when Lucas came back; with the omega and Asher tagging along.
I strained my neck to see what they were doing but Asher seemed to be focussing on my ass until Ashlyn noticed and tugged him away. I stood up and discarded the wet wipes and washed my hands. I came back towards them, ruffling my hair frustratedly.
"Vicky! Did you gave the girls clumpy milk?!" Ashlyn's shocked my annoyingly sweet voice cut through me. I narrowed my eyes at her but nodded, admitting my mistake. "That's not what they need! You need to pat their back so they can burp."
She picked up Rose and began rocking back and forth while patting her back gently. Sure enough, Rose let out a tiny burp. Asher looked on in awe and admiration at his omega. I felt stung at this and harshly swallowed. Lucas mirrored her actions and Rosalie did the same.
I stood awkwardly to the side as Asher and Ashlyn had their loving moment together. I faced the opposite away, the sight of them happy with a baby really reached my heart. I stared at the clock. 2:40. I had my competition in 15 minutes. I snapped my fingers and my outfit was changed into my competition uniform. Booty shorts and a white body-hugging shirt. As well as the armor on my knees and elbows.
I faced them again and said to Lucas, "Gotta run. I'll be waiting for your cheers."
He winked at me. "You can count on that, babe."
I looked at Asher, expecting a jealous reaction but he remained stoic. I huffed angrily. So he really didn't care for me. But then Ashlyn spoke up shyly, "Um, can I teleport with you? Because I'm also running a bit late."
I smiled at her. But it was forced and Asher glared down at me, daring me to say no. Challenge accepted. "I can't. Sorry. Teleporting boat is a bit occupied."
Ashlyn's face faltered and it was her turn to force a smile. "Of course. Sorry for asking."
Asher rubbed her back comfortingly and I stared on with jealousy. He was going to be a hard one. I ignored them and stared lovingly at my baby girls. I gave them both a kiss on the forehead before walking out to his dorm balcony. He was on the third floor.
"Bye, Lucas!" I called out.
"Don't break the railing when you jump out!"
"Jump out? What?" Ashlyn's still annoyingly sweet voice asked. I smirked in response and jumped off the balcony. I teleported mid-way so that I was safe on the archery field.
"Victoria! You made it!" Vanessa's voice reached my ears.
"Yeah, had a bit of a setback," I muttered, remembering what had happened earlier.
"Let me guess. Omega, baby girls, and Asher."
I sighed, "Yep, same as usual but the babies are the only difference."
"I heard that one girl had sextuplets! Oh, the horror!"
"Who did you partner up with?"
"Jackson," she said sheepishly. That would be none other than her mate. "We got a baby boy."
"ALL ARCHERY GIRLS GET TO YOUR STATIONS!" The announcer suddenly blasted through the speaker. We jumped up, startled and departed to our lines.
"First up....We have Ashlyn Barnessssssss!" The crows cheered but not as much as they used too. Crickets could be heard as she didn't step out of the line.
The murmuring began before Ashlyn screeched, "I'm here!"
And there she was, a flushed Ashlyn. Lips are swollen and her neck had a slight bruise forming. I glanced at the stands and there was Asher, Ace, and Alec. Grinning like idiots at their omega. My heart like they'd just wrenched it out. They had been making out with their omega. The pain that I felt...I swallowed it in painfully. It collected in my body as my stoic face reformed itself.
I felt as their attention- well Ace's and Alec's attention. Looks like the omega has beaten me once again in recovering my mate's Their fixed gazes shifted into guilt because I never met their gaze. I shook my head disapprovingly but if I could I would've screamed at them. No wonder why my fox and wolf were silent.
Ashlyn shyly smiled at my triplets, who smiled back strainedly. "Ahem. We will continue on with everyone else." The announcer said awkwardly, feeling the tension everywhere.
I rolled my eyes as Ashlyn made her way into the line. Girls began to approach and some hit one or two of the seven bull's eyes while others hit away from the bull's eye. Finally, there was only the omega and I left.
"Ashlyn Barnes!" The announcer announced. Thee bruises had bloomed on her neck. All three of my triplets had marked her body to make it clear that she belonged to them. They all took part in it which only amounted to my pain. But I was a master at keeping pain hidden. Ashlyn blushed profusely as everyone noticed the bruises.
She turned serious when she took out her bow. Aiming carefully she shot her first arrow which landed straight in the middle. The continued this way until she reached her seventh bull's eye. I secretly wished that she wouldn't make it. But the moon goddess didn't answer my wishes and Ashlyn landed her last bull's eye.
The crowd roared in pride. Ashlyn proudly took it all in and my mates cheered her on profusely. That stung even more. I searched around for Lucas and there he was, grinning like a maniac, holding Rose and Rosalie in his arms. I laughed and blew him a kiss when the announcer shouted, "Victoria Davis- Adler!"
The crowd went silent but Lucas yelled, "Go, Vicky! Kick their asses!"
I stifled a laugh as I focus on the bull's eye. Ashlyn's arrow was on it. I pulled out an arrow and steadied my stance. I don't think that anyone had faith that my arrow would land in the center. I bit my lip and launched my first arrow.
A sharp gasp from the crowd was heard when my arrow went right through Ashlyn's arrow and hit the center. My lip curled when I tasted revenge. I continued to shoot my arrows- they all penetrated Ashlyn's arrows. Asher's furious glare was fixed on me. As if he wanted me to lose. I kept his gaze as I launched my last arrow that went through Ashlyn's arrow and down to the seventh center.
The crowd remained eerily silent until I heard my mom's voice shout, "That's my baby! You go Victoria! You beat that omega!"
My eyes widened and I dropped my bow. Ashlyn released a little painful squeak, receiving sympathetic looks from the triplets. My mom came into view and everyone began to whisper. Indeed, my mom Jenna Davis- Adler was a famous Luna. Mom teleported towards me and the people at the stand hadn't moved an inch. Clearly startled by my mom's startling appearance.
"Mom!" I jump onto her and we land on the grass. I feel like a five-year-old again; grasping at my mother's skirt and enjoying her comfort.
Lucas joined in as well. "Why, hello, mother-in-law!"
My mom's eyes widened when she saw the twin girls. "Oh please don't tell me you were pregnant with his child!"
I laughed easily now. "No, it's mandatory in college. But I do need a few pointers from you."
Another squeak was heard from Ashlyn. My mom was a power mom and under her training,I could best any omega in caring for a baby and she knew it. My mom narrowed her eyes at Ashlyn. "That's the b***h that stole your triplets?"
The crowd gasped and I saw my mate's bodies go rigid. Everyone began shouting hateful things at Ashlyn who's lip was quivering. I grinned at my mom. "Let's go to Lucas's dorm."
In an instant,my mom had teleported us to Lucas's dorm. He was gaging. "Still takes time to get used to it."
Lucas left us alone. Probably heading off to put the girls to sleep and sleeping off himself. My mom grasped my hand. "I know that omega had taken your mates."
"How?" I whispered hoarsely. How could my mom know? I was practically on the other side of North America.
"His pack has been talking about their Alphas mating with an omega and I felt your happiness in my heart when you found your mate. Please, I'm your mother. Give me more credit. Besides, they had come over once to a meeting and my keen senses felt your scent on them."
Wow. My mom truly was an intelligent woman. "Does dad know?"
"Of course he knows. It has taken all of my power to restrain him from declaring war by beating the three Alphas."
My lip began to quiver. "Oh sweetie, let it out. It's okay."
My tears streamed out and I softly sobbed as my head fell on her lap and she caressed my head. A click was heard and my mate's scent reached my nose. I sobbed louder, knowing that the three of them were with Ashlyn-comforting her instead of me. Taking care of the baby boy with her. Kissing her and loving her.
My sobs only grew and the pain as well. My heart loosened in a matter of seconds. I had let it all out, let everything out. The pain and betrayal. It's amazing how I have only known them for a couple of weeks but they have already inflicted great pain on me.
I stopped suddenly and asked, "Mom, can you teach me everything you know about how to take care of a baby?"
She grinned. "By the time I'm done with you, you'll be better than any omega."
I smiled and we got to work. Who knew taking care of a baby could have so many steps?
