The small family dinner

After me being asleep for the past few days, I jumped into the shower and washed every single inch in my body. Once I was done, I wrapped a towel around my lower half then walked out the bathroom into my room. Phil was sitting on the bed waiting for me to come out.
"Yes, my love." I said as I walked to the closet.
"Bailey and the twins said you were awake. I wanted to see for myself. I've been crazy lost without you the past few days."
"Phil I'm very sorry. Truly, am. I'll make it up to you later." I said as I slide on some slacks and slide on a polo shirt to go with it. "But as of right now, we have a family gathering to attend to."
"Yeah, your family has been antsy. And Zo, she's driving us all insane about what you, Joey, and Javier had done. I swear, she brings it up like every 5-10 minutes."
"Well let's go down and see everyone and get this small dinner over with." I had said then we gotta get ready for Christmas that's in a few days."
"Yeah, I know. I called my parents, they're coming along with your adopted family and Bailey's. Both Bailey and I called them yesterday."
"Oh, I'm surprised her family is coming. They haven't came in the last 5 years." I said as I went to the door.
"Yeah, she said the same thing. But they want to meet their grandkids. I guess they're not doing any good lately. Both her parents found out they have cancer and it's killing them slowly. At least that's what their dr told them. Their wolves are getting too old to help them."
"I guess Bailey gonna be staying with them for a while until then." I said as I got to the stairs.
"I don't know she hasn't said anything about it."
"She will, hun. I know her, she's all about her parents."
"She's all about her family, dear." Phil had said.
"She sure is."
"She's gotten worse since she met you and had kids."
"Now you say that, I think she has. But that's what makes her a good Luna."
"Hell of a Luna for our alpha."
I nodded at what he said, as we reached the bottom step. The twins were sitting on the couch watching tv with their 2nd cousins and great grandparents. My uncles were gone along with their mates. Peter
had said that she'd be here within a day or two and that was just about two days ago.
Everyone stood up when they saw me but I just waved them off to the dinning hall. Joey turned off the tv and everyone had took their leave.
I took my seat once we got into the hall. Both my mates had taken their seats along with my twins on the other side of them. My grandfather took the end seat along with my grandmother. My uncles and their mates walked in a few moments later along with the kitchen staff with the food. Bailey had ordered a few to help out since I wasn't up for it. I was but I couldn't tell her that.
After the food was served, we all dug in what we wanted to eat then each one of us said a little something. Basically what you're supposed to say on thanksgiving but we were doing it Christmas style. Even though we have just a few short days left until Christmas this is what we're doing now.
I was thankful for my family. I was thankful that I was found as a baby, even though I was taken my a bad alpha, but I love that adopted family. I own them my life, even though they didn’t know that their alpha had did what he had done. I am thankful that I found my mates. I am thankful that my chosen mate gave me kids; a family that I never would’ve dreamed of ever having. I’m thankful I found my old pack and moved back to protect it from harm.
After thinking what I was thankful for, I said out loud. “I am very thankful for my mates, children, families from all my packs, and very thankful to be alive even though I’m struggling with everything still.” I had said.
“We’re thankful to have you back.” My nana had said.
“We’re thankful of having you as our alpha.” Bailey said.
“And our mate.” Phil said grabbing both mine and reaching over to Bailey’s hand. I
“We’re thankful that you’re our father.” The twins had said.
I smiled at them all and nodded. “Let’s eat.”
Everyone nodded and dug into their food. This couldn’t get anymore better.
