Daniel's POV
"Sir, we need a break."
We were in the back seat of the car. The rear seat's soft foam was nice against my back. While my eyes closed, I massaged my neck.
"Sir, how about we go straight to the spa now?" Kim asked.
I smiled and said, "I like doing things that make me feel better."
"Where is it, sir? I could go there. I want to get rid of my tiredness."
"Your presence won't make me feel better. It will get worse. Going to a spa or staying home to rest would be better," I said.
"Haist, your downer, sir. Is that how old people think?" Kim spoke in a whisper, but I could hear her.
I'm not in the mood to argue with her. I closed my eyes instead of sleeping on the trip for at least a little while.
Flashback
Four years ago
"Give me up."
When we got home from the prom, Russell ignored me. I grabbed Russell's wrist after Ryker went inside the house. She stopped and looked at me with a face full of disappointment and annoyance. I pulled Russell closer to me instead of letting go of her wrist. She clung to my shoulder as her body bounced a little on me.
"I understand what I did made you mad, but I won't let you insult me like that. I'm still older than you," I reminded her. It was annoying for me.
"That's it. This is not your place to tell me what to do, even if you are older than me. Stop getting in the way of what I'm doing; you know nothing about my age. Your strictness is more irritating than my brother's. You are so annoying!" Russell told me in a grumpy voice.
I took a deep breath. I kept my cool by clenching my teeth. Strangely, she's the only woman I've ever let treat me negatively. If it were Russell, I'd be like a dog with a wagging tail that can't complain.
“I don’t care if you get tired of me for the rest of your life, because I will always be a part of your life... maybe even forever," I smiled.
"What? You're crazy. What do you mean? Are you planning to watch over me until you die?"
"I assure you, even after I die, I'll still watch over you," I said, making her mad even more. "But I'm a bad weed; I don't die easily, so you will enjoy my company longer. And besides, I don't want you to become a young widow."
"Young widow, my foot! As if I am going to marry you..."
I didn't understand everything Russell said because I was too focused on watching her lips move. Thoughts of another guy kissing her lips make my mood change. If that man's kiss on Russell's lips could be erased, I would have done it. I will do everything to ensure she forgets about her first kiss and she will only look for my kiss. But dang! I can't get her because she's only fifteen years old. Given the number of girls I would like, why would I want a minor?
"Let me go!" I let her go after Russell pushed me away.
"You guys? What're you doing here?"
Auntie walked out the door. Russell was mad, glaring at me and sticking her tongue out, "Jerk!" she ran into the house without looking at me.
Instead of getting mad at Russell for what she did, I couldn't help but chuckle. 'Jeez, she's so cute.' I thought.
Auntie approached me. "Auntie, can I talk to you?"
Auntie turned to look at me. "Sure. What's it about?"
"It's about Russell."
"Russell?" Auntie frowned, and I smiled a bit.
End of Flashback
"We're here, sir." Wake up! Sir..."
Kim's face was the first thing I saw when I woke up. I was shocked that her face was so close to mine while she smiled at me. She moved away from me as soon as I opened my eyes.
"Sir, what are you up to? You surprised me." Kim said this and then got out of the car.
I turned around outside the window. When we got to a stop, I left the car immediately. I went right to my car. I took out my phone and called Ryker right away.
"Hey, dude, are you at work?" As soon as he picked up the phone, I asked him.
After getting in, I didn't wait and immediately turned on the key.
"I'm going to see you there..." After speaking, I hung up.
However, I first went to the university where Russell was studying before going to Ryker's office. Also, Ryker's ex-girlfriend works there as a professor.
I watched Russell laugh with her friends outside the classroom while Alice and I stood on the other side of the building.
"Daniel, do you have any stupid plans for Ryker's sister?" Alice asked me this while folding her arms and staring at me like a pervert peeping on a minor.
"Stop looking at me like I'm a pervert. If I am, you'll be my first victim." Alice's dress clothes were too sexy when I saw her earlier. "However, I don't want to hassle Ryker, so..."
"Ryker? That means you're both still sleeping with other women, and the woman you want is Ryker's younger sister."
I put the binoculars back in my pocket and looked directly at Alice. "She's not ready yet, so I'll wait..."
"You're crazy, seriously!" Alice raised her voice but knew what she was doing and put her hand over her mouth. She pushed my shoulder with her free hand at the same time.
I laughed at how she responded. "You haven't changed. You are still an a**hole. Ryker probably still likes that," Alice said.
"I'm leaving." After giving Alice a tap on the shoulder, I left. She came right after me.
"Aren't you going to invite me out for a cup of coffee?" While we were going down the stairs, Alice asked.
When some female students came up to me, I smiled and waved back. Alice looked at what I was doing and didn't like it.
"Haist, I can charge you with abusing children or assaulting women for what you did."
"I'm just being nice," I told her. Alice and I stopped at the parking lot after going down the stairs. "Maybe we can have coffee if you have nothing else to do." Do you want to come?"
Alice smiled and asked, "Really?"
"Yes, Ryker and I will meet over at a bar. What? Are you going to come?"
"Ryker. Would you like me to go see Ryker with you?"
"Yeah. After a few years, you may have both moved on, right?" I smiled at Alice and winked.
"I'm over him, but seeing him intentionally isn't good. I'll just let fate do its job. Besides, he'd drool over me again like a crazy dog if he saw me."
Knowing Ryker, I laughed at what Alice said because I thought it might be true. Alice hurt Ryker's feelings when she broke up with him.
"I'll leave then," I said as I entered the car. I let air in. "Sexy clothes aren't appropriate for school. The other kids might drool, and you'll miss your ex like crazy."
"Haist," Alice commented. As she was about to pull my hair, I quickly closed the window and chuckled.
"Bye!" I waved at her.
The frown on her face didn't bother me at all. I smiled while I drove the car. The phone later went off. Ryker was calling from the other end of the line.
"Dude, just where have you been?" Ryker asked me.
"I'm on my way and have some gossip for you."
"Really then? Hurry up." Ryker said on the other line. "I want to know what that gossip is."
I smiled and hung up the phone without saying anything.
