4. Those eyes again?

621 Words
As it was my turn I shared with my sisters the details of my strange encounter. They seems quite amazed at the fact that I felt interest towards someone. I had always shown to be a cold person except with my sisters, and even with them I wasn’t quite emotional. Each of us left for her room. I felt better now that I had shared my thoughts with them. Some days went by and we didn’t receive any missions but we were always on standby. After a few days I finally found a letter in my room that had instructions for the next mission. I read it carefully, it specified that I had to go alone and be extremely discreet. It was strange for the Order to send someone on a solo mission but I had worked alone on other occasions. I grabbed my suit and katana and left the Academy by foot. After taking some trains I arrived at Shamba, a small city full of corporations. My mission was to collect new software that could trace the history of movements in any platform, device and site. I met with a man and a woman at a park and they gave me a small device, without saying a word, I left. As I walked towards the train station I felt a chill all through my spine. Someone was looking at me. I turned around and saw those dark eyes staring at me. It was him, he walked towards me without taking his eyes off me. When he was close enough he said - Hi Amelia, seems like destiny is planning something for us - My lips curved a little bit but I controlled my smile, I wasn’t going to give him my smile that easily. - You seem like a corny and impolite person, I have no interest on knowing you - as I answered I felt as if my insides were turned upside down. His smile disappeared and I instantly regretted my words. Without taking his eyes off of me he took one step forward and then leaned towards my face close enough that I could feel his breath. - Do you want a coffee ? - he said with a serious tone and then continued to speak with a more friendly tone - I’m quite interested in knowing you and I think that you shouldn’t shut someone off that easily, what if I’m actually a decent guy ? - I liked that he was so straightforward and I still had a little bit more than an hour before my train. I apologized for my words and told him we could go get a coffee in the train station. He talked about his family’s business, he told me he worked for his father at a company that focused on marketing strategies for other businesses. And the reason that he was in the village the other day was to see the owners of a small company that wants to expand. I told him about my passion for the White Rose and my commitment to them. Time went by so fast, when I had to leave a part of me really wanted him to ask me not to. But he didn’t, he just said - Can I see you again? - I wanted to say yes but I really didn’t know, I was always on the move and on missions. - I hope so- as I said those words I grabbed my things and walked towards the train. My whole body wanted me to turn around but I knew if I did that, I would be putting my whole career at risk. I had a mission and that was my priority, right?
