She leaned her head on Due's shoulders. It didn’t take too long for them to settle on a movie to watch. Then they spent the whole day, watching cartoon after cartoon and just eating junk food. The whole day was spent lazing around and dozing off to sleep only to wake up and eat junk food, watch cartoons, and eat junk food again. Then it was nighttime. The two took their baths and got all dolled up. Ash was still in low spirits even after they reached the club and met up with Ty. The night was meant to cheer her up. But Due had to literally pull her through the sweaty bodies on the dance floor to dance. The two girls danced together and drank enough to loosen Ash up so she wasn’t all moody. Tyler had disappeared the moment they entered the club so he was nowhere to be found so they were alone, rejecting invites from strangers. Ash was trying. In all honesty, she wanted to toss everything to the back of her mind and just have fun. And with just the right amount of alcohol, she was feeling all kinds of lose and giddy. She and Due were rubbing all over each other, dancing to the beat. Then, she didn’t know why, but Ash glanced to her left when she felt a compulsion to do so. Her eyes met Eric’s. Right across from her. She swore her heart jumped to her throat and she almost stumbled if not for Due’s hand grabbing her waist and holding her close. “Are you, alright?!” Due yelled over the music to her with brows creased in worry. And Ash replied with a nod as she tried to swallow the not in her stomach. She pulled in closer to Due so that her hand was around her shoulders as Due’s went around her waist and they moved together. Ash rested her head on Due’s shoulders, her head to the side to look at Eric. She knew that she shouldn’t. But she did it anyway. Eric was on the dance floor with his current girlfriend and like always, she felt her heart squeeze painfully in her chest at the way the woman looped her hand around his shoulders and kissed him. Frankly, she didn’t even know why she was hurting herself so much. She bit her lips to stifle a whimper. Due was already worried for her, she didn’t want to trouble her friend anymore. The thing was that Eric was looking at her. Even as he clasped his girlfriend's throat and kissed her long and hard, his eyes never left hers. It was only for a split second before he pulled himself together. But she saw that momentary flash of fixation. And it wasn’t the first time she had seen him looking at her like that. At first, she thought that it was just her imagination. But it had happened one too many times. And she remembered each time.
