Chapter 8

2748 Words
Rose woke up to something roughly poking her head. She groaned as she sat up. Her back and neck felt stiff, aching every time she tried to move. She gently opened her eyes to see what was poking her. "Why are you sleeping here?" Asked the culprit. Rose smiled when she saw the culprit was a young boy. "Because I can," she taunted with a smile. "What are you doing here all alone?" "My Nana works over there," he said as he pointed to the receptionist. Rose smiled at the old lady as she quickly stood up. "She told me to wake you up." "Thank you," Rose smiled, "I'll quickly clean up my mess then." After returning the blankets to the receptionist, she sat in the lobby and waited for the Alpha Prince to make his way down. She was too afraid to go up there herself as she didn't know what she might walk in on. She checked the time and realized that it was still too early for any normal living being to be awake. "Do you want to play a game with me?" Troy, which the receptionist claimed was the young boy's name, asked her. "What type of game?" Rose awkwardly asked. Aside from a few word exchanges, she wasn't used to making contact with humans. "A card game. I'll teach you how to play." Alexander woke up to an empty space beside him. He smiled when he realized that the blonde had already left. It saved him time and a lot of drama. It made him respect her a tiny bit more. He liked a woman who knew how to have fun without having forcing the other side to some sort of commitment. He stretched as he stood up, picking up his clothes and walking to the shower. He had earlier sent a message to the driver to leave some clean clothes up at the reception desk for him. They had called his room and asked if they should bring it up, which he gladly accepted. Once he finished his shower, he walk out with a good mood. He wished he could've seen his father's face after taking Sarah to the room with him. He knew that his father wouldn't have been angry, however he could imagine the look of disappointment on his face. He chuckled as he fixed the buttons of his shirt. "I see you're in a good mood," a female voice said from behind him as she wrapped their arm around his waist. "Could I be the reason of your good mood?" Alexander pushed her arms away from his body and turned around to see if he was dreaming or if she really was there. "Why are you here?" She giggled as she flirtatiously walked towards him. "I don't know, could it possibly be because of the passionate night we spent together last night?" "Let me rephrase that for you," he began, "why are you still here?" "Why, don't you want me here?" She mockingly asked. She thought he was playing with around her. "No, I actually don't. So leave." "What?" Her face fell and she looked completely heartbroken. "Why would I leave? I thought you loved me!" "Look Sarah, I do-" "It's Sasha!" "Sasha, Sarah, whatever, they're all the same thing. Like I was saying before you rudely interrupted me, no, I do not love you. Are you naïve enough to think every man you sleep with loves you? I thought you were smarter than that." He quickly finished doing up his buttons and got ready to leave. Sasha clasped onto his arm and began crying. "B-but I-I love you! You took my virginity, you bastard!" Alexander couldn't help it, he broke out in to a full blown laugh. "Your v-virginity?" He laughed out. "Look Sweetheart, I'm someone who has slept with both virgins and non-virgins before. I can tell the difference between someone who is and isn't a virgin." He bent down to her ear and whispered, "you're too loose to be a virgin." Sasha's face burned in embarrassment as Alexander pushed her away and walked out. She couldn't even bring herself to cry because she was just too humiliated. Tears fell out of Rose's eyes the harder she laughed. She didn't know humans could be so funny. She was currently sitting with Troy and his older sister Shane. Shane was a few years younger than Rose, but she seemed to be on the same level as matureness as her. She was such a smart girl! Shane was currently telling Rose of some of her most embarrassing experiences as a walking billboard. When Rose first heard about Shane's career, she thought she was joking. However, Shane quickly explained that her career really was to be a walking billboard. She explained that because the company she worked at didn't have enough money for a real billboard, they hired her to be the company's walking billboard. She walked around with a sign around her neck which practically advertised her company. Rose didn't think it was that bad of a job at first, however, once Shane started explaining all of her embarrassing experiences, Rose couldn't breathe from laughing so hard. "You have a pretty laugh," a little voice called out from beside her. This made Rose laugh even more. Troy jumped up and sat on Rose's lap. "Well aren't you a little charmer?" Rose teased him as she flicked his nose. "I just fell in love with you!" Rose met Shane's eyes as the two girls guffawed at his announcement. "But I'm serious!" Rose couldn't help it anymore, she was choking on air as she covered her face with her hands. She hadn't laughed that heartily in a while. It felt good to be happy. She turned towards the little boy and smiled. "I love you too, little one," she began, "however, I think you're too young to know what love is." "But I do! And I'm a big boy now. My Nana said so! I want to marry you. See? If I didn't love you I wouldn't want to marry you. But I do. I'm a big boy!" He stood up and puffed out his chest to prove his manliness. Rose giggled, "how about this, if you still like me in twenty years I'll agree to marrying you?" "Really?" Troy asked his eyes, brightening. "Will you really?" "We'll see in twenty years," she winked. Troy laughed as he ran to his Nana to tell her the good news. She wondered if all children were like him. He ran back a few seconds later and wrapped his little arms around her neck. "She said yes. We can get married in twenty years!" Rose laughed at the little boy as she ruffled his hair. Alexander watched Rose speak animatedly with a child in the lobby. He didn't know what they were saying, but he had to admit that she looked really good with a child in her arms. He didn't feel any sort of attraction towards her, but he loved children. "I guess children make even the ugliest people look nice," he whispered to himself. He walked downstairs, returned the key to the receptionist and then walked towards the lobby area. He stood there for a few seconds before clearing his throat. All three gazes turned towards him. One was an admiring gaze, in which he returned with a wink, the second was a cute questioning gaze, which he replied to with a smile and the third was an annoyed yet shaken gaze, which he returned with a scowl. Rose was still shaken by the image of what she had to witness the night before. No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't shake the disturbing images away. She assumed it was time to leave so she slowly pushed Troy off her lap and stood up. She bid her farewells with the little kid and then turned to Shane to bid her a farewell as well. However, no matter how much she tried, she couldn't catch Shane's attention. Shane couldn't believe her eyes. The man standing before her couldn't be human! He was the most beautiful being she'd ever had the honor of coming across. To her it was like discovering chocolate for the first time in her life again. He was extraordinarily tall; a lot taller than any of the men she had come across in her life and had the darkest, most brooding eyes she'd seen in her life. She couldn't understand it, but his eyes seemed to be darker than the darkest black in existence. They were terrifyingly beautiful. His midnight dark hair added effect to his mysterious, brooding aura. His hair looked super smooth yet at the same time it looked like it could cut anyone who touched it. His chiseled jaw looked like a finely carved Michelangelo statue and his long, straight nose looked as if it was sharp enough to cut anyone who even looked at it. His strawberry colored lips were pressed into a thin line, making her want to reach out and feel them under her sensitive fingers. His cologne was as strong, yet as sweet as midnight s*x. In other words, he was devastatingly gorgeous. She was completely star struck. "How are you even real?" She quietly gasped. Hearing Shane's words of admiration, Rose rolled her eyes at her new found friend. "Why is he even real?" She quietly retorted back, knowing very well that the he would hear her. It was no secret that they didn't like each other's existence, however they needed to tolerate one another, or pretend to tolerate each other, when they were in public. Especially if they were in the presence of another werewolf. Alexander glared down at Rose, making her shrug in response. By the looks of it, she wasn't going to be able to gain Shane's attention with the devil in the same room as them. She decided she'd just leave without saying good-bye to her new friend. "Felicia, sweetheart, I have been waiting for you." The young woman before him angrily stormed towards him, shooting deadly daggers with her eyes. "You better have a good reason for having your nuisance of a pup bother me and the drag me here at this ungodly hour! I will make you regret your existence if you don't!" Felicia growled. He laughed as he watched her face turn red with anger. "I assure you sweetheart, what I called you here for is something others of your type would be begging me for. You should be honored." "Cut the rubbish and tell me why I'm here!" "Did you by chance know that the Royal Alpha Prince is married?" He asked as he walked around her with a smirk plastered on his face. Felicia's eyes widened in surprise as his words began to sink in. She gave him a disbelieving look not believing the words that left his mouth. "You're not by chance playing with me, are you?" "No. According to my sources they've been married for about a month now." "Do they have the bond?" "Yes," he began, a wide Cheshire cat like grin growing on his face, "they are bound by the Moon Mother." Cottage. The word continued to play in Rose's head as she stared at the building she'd be residing in for the next however long. From what she was taught in grade school, a cottage was a small house in a farm area. The building and surroundings of where they were dropped off to didn't fit that description. Rather than a cottage, the building was more of a huge cabin in the middle of nowhere. After leaving the village, it took another three and a half hours to reach their destination. She watched as the buildings slowly started to disappear and were slowly replaced by trees and mountains. The greenery of the scene outside left her breathless. The black and gray colors of civilization started changing into the beautiful green and blue colors of nature. She could feel her wolf doing somersaults from happiness. Coming from a pack that was led by an Earth user, let alone that said alpha being her father, she had traces of Earth in her nature. Although she hadn't inherited the element herself, it was still in her blood. Nature was where she felt most at home - where she felt the happiest. However, now that she looked at the cabin that they would be residing in, her stomach began to form in tight knots. The cabin itself wasn't the problem. Their surrounding was. There was nothing besides trees, mountains and a river around. How was the King expecting them to live? There was absolutely no sign of civilization anywhere and the only noises to be heard were the birds chirping and the sound of the water from the river flowing. "The King has a message to relay to you two, Young Alpha Prince," the driver said, gaining both of their attention. He pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to the Alpha Prince. She read the contents over his shoulders and she gasped at the words written on the paper. "Is this a joke?" She asked no one in particular. "Does it sound like a goddamn joke to you?" Alexander rudely answered. He was already in a bad mood and the contents of the letter were making him angrier. He returned the letter to the driver and moodily started taking his belongings out of the car. Rose took the letter from the driver's hands and read over the contents of the letter over and over again. ~ ~ ~ Dear Alexander and Rose, I hope you two spend a lot of time to get to know each other. If you haven't already noticed, there are absolutely no forms of civilization for the next few miles. Of course you'll be able to reach somewhere if you shift into your wolves. However, I suggest you try to refrain from shifting as you are in a hunting zone. I wouldn't want some petty human hunting either of you down, now would I? Also, there's no electricity. So that means that once your mobiles die out, you will not be able to use them again. I suggest handing them over to the driver as there's no need for them. If you haven't figured there's also no Internet connection. You two have absolutely no forms of communication with the outside world. So if you two are dying to talk to someone, you know who to go to. As for food and other basic necessities, every week I'll have someone from the palace bring you a week worth of supplies and food. You two won't have to leave the house at all! I won't lie; I'm hoping you two won't have to stay there for more than a month. I'll have you know that I'm getting old and therefore I want you back as soon as possible. If you two fight and one of you end up hurt, there is a first aid kit in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. There is more than enough to last you too. However, I hope you also know that if I find that you two have hurt one another, you'll have to pay the consequences. And don't you dare think that I won't find out. Because I most definitely will. Well that's all from me. Please stop acting like children and get over your feud with one another. Yours truly, Alpha King Julian David Hayes. PS. I just remembered that Rose has no idea of the conditions. I'll let you know now since I'm positive Alexander won't bother telling you. The main reason I sent the two of you over there is because I'm afraid that you two will cause problems here if you stay any longer. The people of the palace are already suspicious of your relationship, and I don't want to wipe everyone's memory every time you fight. Everyone knows you're married but I can't have them knowing why. Everyone believes you two are a very loving couple. I can't have you ruining my name and my kingdom with your childish acts. As for when you'll be returning, you two aren't allowed to return to the palace without you (Rose) bearing an heir to the throne. I'll only allow the two of you back once you're pregnant. PPS. This is an order.
