Chapter 7

He watched the two newlywed royals push their way through the crowded market. "Is she really his wife?" "Yes, Sir. They've been married for about a month now," his second in command answered. His feral smirk grew, mirroring his evil heart. He laughed causing the air to freeze in fear. Everything about him was terrifying, however his laugh was one of the scariest things a living being could witness. Everyone around him broke out into cold sweat waiting for him the torturous sound of his laughter to stop. What scared them most was that whenever he laughed, it meant that he would murder someone before the next hour was up. He claimed that laughing made him happy and he had the need to murder when he was happiest. Everyone around him was on high alert, waiting for their fate – waiting to see if they'll be his next victim. "It's near," he laughed as he placed his hand on his second-in-command's neck. "It's near, my friend. In only a matter of months we'll get what we need. We'll be free, we'll be stronger and we'll make those who did this to us suffer!" His second-in-command gulped as he smiled up at his leader. He didn't know whether he should react or not. The last three second-in-commands had lost their heads for reacting at a wrong time, in a wrong manner. He turned his gaze back towards the couple. His eyes followed their every move, watching them like a hungry hawk. "Is she a virgin?" "Yes, Sir." "It would have been fun writhing her little neck and watching her squirm in pain," he laughed, "too bad we need her alive." Rose sighed in relief when they finally found a little guesthouse. It seemed to be the closet thing to a hotel in the village. "We'd like two rooms, please," Alexander told the old lady on the other side of the counter, making her to look up from her newspaper. "I'm afraid we only have one room left," she told them with a frown on her face. "What do you mean you only have one room left? I can see at least 5 keys behind you!" Alexander said, raising his voice. "Those rooms are already booked. You can either take the room or sleep somewhere else tonight," the old lady said as she started losing her patience with the rude man. "We'll take it," Rose quickly said before Alexander could even open his mouth. Unless he wanted them to sleep outside that night, they had no other choice. The sky was already starting to darken and by the looks of the clouds, it was going to rain once again. "Here you go, dear. Your room is room 18. Have a good night." "Thank you," Rose smiled at her as she took the keys. She then started walking up the stairs to their room. The guesthouse was a large brown building, accommodating eighteen rooms. Although the inside looked very modern, the outside resembled an old haunted house you would see in a horror movie. The trees on either side of the building were full of spider webs, the grass was uncut and the paint was peeling off. The house looked like it would fall apart at any moment. However, despite the houses unwelcoming exterior, Rose wasn't complaining. She was overly exhausted and just needed a nice and long nap. She walked into the room and was glad to see that it was larger than what she had expected. There was a small lounge area with two long sofas in the right hand corner and a door on the left side of the room which she assumed to be the bathroom. The bed was a large double sized bed situated in the middle. "I'll sleep on the sofa tonight," she offered as she sat down on the said sofa. It was more comfortable than she had expected. "That's a given," Alexander replied as he examined the room. After approving of the size, he left the room without another word. Rose didn't mind though. She was just glad that she was away from his irritating presence. She went downstairs to ask the kind receptionist if there were any spare blankets she could use. She didn't want to take the ones from the bed, as she was afraid that the Alpha would make a deal out of her using them. She just wanted a quiet evening. Alexander smirked as he walked out of the guesthouse. It was finally time to show his father not to mess with his own personal affairs. He walked around for a while, feeling the presence of his father still following him. This made his smirk widen. He walked into a small pub expecting to find what he was looking for in there. He looked around until his eyes landed on a petite blonde who was checking him out. She reminded him of a delicate doll. Her eyes were huge yet the rest of her features were tiny. She looked like a human Barbie doll. She was wearing a small, pink dress which somehow added more emphasis to her Barbie doll look. He winked at her once she caught his eye, making her smile as she stood up sashayed her way towards him. He approved of her bold and confident attitude. "Are you alone?" She asked as she flirtatiously as she glanced around him. "Not anymore, I'm not," he winked as he took her hand. She placed her other hand on his thigh, dangerously close to his private part. "Would you like a drink?" She pretended to think for a while before answering, "If I somehow end up being ridiculously drunk, will you offer me a cup of coffee at your place?" Alexander winked at her. "I'll offer you a cup of coffee without you having to get drunk." She laughed out loud at this and ordered a drink for her self. About an hour later, Alexander was starting to get bored and started to contemplate whether he should start looking for another woman. Sasha, which the petite blonde claimed was her name, noticed his change of mood and told him that she was ready to leave. Glad to hear this, Alexander stood up, took her hand and started to walk out of the pub. The sky had completely darkened and the only thing lighting up the dark roads were the street lamps. As they walked up the stairs to his room, Sasha seductively wrapped her arms around his waist. "I changed my mind," She began as she leaned in closer to him, "I don't want coffee. I want something else." She began trailing her fingers down his shirt, all the way down towards his lower parts. She stopped right above his manhood and winked. Alexander smiled, already expecting things to end up that way. He leaned down and captured her pouty lips with his own. He opened the door his right hand and lifted her skirt with his left, caressing her backside. A soft gasp broke the two apart. Sasha looked down at a surprised Rose with wide eyes. "W-Who is she?" Sasha asked, shocked to see another woman in his room. "Don't mind her," Alexander smirked, "She's just my assistant." Sasha sighed in relief. "Well then, hurry up and leave. We have important business to take care of," she giggled as she pulled Alexander towards the bed. Rose went completely blank. Did he really take a woman to his bed while she was in the same room or was she dreaming? If that was a dream, she hoped she never dreamed such a nightmarish dream like that again. It was the most disturbing thing she'd seen in her life. No way in hell did she want to see something like that live. A loud womanly moan brought her out of her reverie. She could feel her face start to heat up as she realized that she wasn't dreaming. What exactly was she supposed to feel or do in a situation like this? She wasn't angry as she didn't have any feelings for the Alpha nor was their marriage a real one based on feelings. All she could feel at that moment was disgust. Disgust that she had to witness the man she hated most make love to some woman only a few meters away. She picked up her blanket and ran out of the room. She sighed in relief once she was out. She sat down on the ground outside of the room and covered herself with the blankets. She didn't have anywhere else to go and she didn't want to sleep outside. The best thing to do was sleep in the hallway. She leaned against the wall and prayed that the night would end as fast as possible. Unfortunately for Rose however, the walls weren't thick enough to cover the sounds of the moans coming from inside. She covered her ears with her small hands hoping that she'd be able to block out their loud moans. Unfortunately they started getting louder and louder to the point that she couldn't take it anymore. She had the urge to barge in there and tell them to keep quiet. However, she was afraid of what she'd witness if she did something like that. Instead, she stood up, picked her blankets and walked downstairs. There was a little sofa down in the reception area. She'd rather sleep there. Julian wanted to be angry, he really did but due to his nature as a water user, he was unable to. He did, however, feel extremely disappointed in his son. He was expecting some sort of progress but instead things turned out the complete opposite way. He also felt guilty towards Rose. If he hadn't booked all the rooms in the guesthouse besides the one they were residing in, she'd have a bed to sleep on rather than in the cold lobby. Julian turned to Stephan who was looking down at the ground with an upset expression plastered onto his face. He knew how he felt without having to read him. Suddenly Julian found himself feeling guilty towards his younger son. "Let's return home," he told Stephan who merely nodded before shifting. That was enough indication that he didn't want to talk to him. Julian followed suit and they ran back home in silence. The only noises around them were the rustling of leaves beneath their feet and the air whooshing as they ran. "What the hell is going on?" He growled as he looked down at his second-in-command. "I-I don't know, Sir!" "Did you or did you not tell me that he was married to that girl?" "I did bu—" "You did," he laughed as he took a step towards his second-in-command. "You did, didn't you? So can you also tell me why in the world he is f*****g some b***h in his room while his wife is sitting in the lobby?" All he could do was blink. The other pack men slowly took a quiet step backwards expecting the worst to happen. "Answer me!" He growled as he took another step towards him. "I'm sorry, sir. I don't kno—" Before he could finish, his head went flying to the other side of the forest and his body fell limply beneath his sir's feet. He watched as blood squirted out of the body, feeling giddy inside. The sight, the colour and the smell of blood excited him. He wiped off the blood that made way onto his face with his thumb and then brought it to his lips. He inhaled deeply before bringing his thumb to his lips and licking it dry. He smiled at the bitterness of it. He loved it and wanted more as soon as he could. "Get rid of this body!" He ordered the pack men. They nodded as they rushed forward to clean off the body, one of them running to the other side to retrieve the head. "Things are going to take longer than I hoped, aren't they?" He sighed. He turned towards the remaining two pack men. "Find out if they are tied by the Moon Mother," he ordered the first pack man. He nodded and quickly left. "You," he began as he turned to the second pack man, "find Felicia and bring her to me. If you take longer then 5 hours, I will have your head on a silver platter. Understood?" The second pack man nodded as he also quickly left. "If their marriage is bound by the Moon Mother, then things will go my way," he laughed. "If not, then there's no point in keeping the virgin alive."
