The Past Meets The Present

I came home with a smile on my face since Kree drive me towards the bus terminal. How I wish we could exchange mobile numbers so I could ask him if he arrives home safe and sound. Wish Luke could have the guts to ask for it soonest. "Hey sweetie, did you have dinner?" Mom asked. "No but I'm still full," I replied. "Full of butterflies in your stomach?" That's one of an h*ck head-turner comment. Am I being too obvious? "W-what do you mean, mom?" I act innocent as much as I can. "Wild guess, sweetie. It's just that you have a different vibe tonight? It's been years since I see this kind of aura from you." She explained. "I'm not sure what you are talking about." I scorned. "Oh, alright. Let's assume I was wrong. But let me remind you sweetie that you're my daughter so I know what's different in you. I've never seen you this way for the past few years and I'm glad to see this vibe after a while." Mom insisted and walk her way to the kitchen. That was close. Mother's instinct is quite powerful. How can even she notice the difference in just a glimpse of me? I walk towards my room and took a shower to freshen up as I prepare to sleep. While I was drying off my hair with the towel, I received a call from Victoria. She insisted that I should come on Friday night to celebrate David's birthday. She wouldn't take no for an answer so I was forced to say yes to her or else she will not drop the call. I tucked myself in the bed after I blow dry my hair and took my phone to play some music. I was trying to get some early sleep but the shower took away my sleepyhead so I just decided to browse on my social media. I scroll on my i********: when a friend suggestion appears. It's Luke's account. He probably appears because Sir Man and he follow each other. I tried to check his profile to see what he's up to but I failed. His account is set in private. But one thing is for sure, he's quite famous to see he has two thousand plus followers. The majority of its population must probably be women. I scrolled furthermore and suddenly saw Mara's account. I checked on her profile to see a little bit of news from her but I was kinda surprised to see that their photo of Kree was nowhere to be found. She used to put it on her Highlight tab but now it's all gone. I wonder what happened to these two. I am dying from this curiosity but I shook my head as I stop myself from digging in even more. I don't wanna get involved with these two anymore. We should just keep living our lives separately. It's way better this way. ======= "Happy Friday, everyone." Sir Man greeted everyone while we are all gathered in here. It's him better so we are having our lunch in the Warehouse. "Happy Birthday, Sir Man." I greeted him as I was helping in arranging the foods so we could have our buffet -type of gathering. "Thanks, Enzey. By the way, will you please take the ice cream tabs in the pantry?"Sir Manuel instructed so I just nodded enthusiastically in response. While I was walking towards the fridge, I gasped from shock as I saw him right in our office's pantry. What is he doing in here? "Hey~" He greeted as he displays his killer smile. "H-Hey. What are you doing in here?" I asked while I am gathering myself from being quite surprised. "I had to check something in your pantry for some change of plans as requested by Sir Man. I didn't know you will be having a little gathering. I should have come early." He mumbled while rolling out his measuring tool. "Oh, I see. Well, you can join us if you want." I invited. I'm pretty sure this is the reason why Sir Man asked me to come here. Not to pick the ice cream but to get him with me. Sir Man and his big picture. D*mn. "I don't think that's a good idea." He giggled that gave a little heart attack. Why do I feel this way in every little thing he does? "Believe me, it's what Sir Man wanted. That's why he asked me to come here. I know him and his puzzle pieces." I asserted. He helped me bring out the ice cream tabs and everyone was whistling and teasing us walking side by side from the pantry. I knew it! This is what they wanted. I just shook my head in disbelief and smirked at their childish trap. They were all teasing and throwing their playful match-making tricks until we finished the food. Thanks to us, they had a blast during lunchtime. I'm on my way back to my working area, walking side by side with him. We didn't say anything just walking side by side as our hands slightly brushed towards each other. It seems like he was trying to ask something but couldn't find the right words to say. I was about to turn when he suddenly speaks up. "Enzey!" He called out. "Yes?" "I can't drive you to the terminal today. I've got somewhere to go and I hate it but I can't reject them. So... yeah." He said while rubbing the back of his head as if he was kinda nervous about something. "Oh--okay. I believe you are not asking permission or what isn't it?" I giggled. "I...actually... want to ask something from you." He hesitantly said. "Sure. What is it?" He suddenly took something from his pocket and unlocked his phone. Then he gave it to me without saying a word but I know what he was trying to ask. So I accepted it and pin it my phone number. I tried my best to keep my poker face but deep inside I wanna jump out of joy. He should have asked for my phone number before he could confess his feelings for me but I guess he has his own order of things. His lips slowly arched upwards as he was putting my name in his contact list. He must have pondered a lot about how to ask for my number, seeing how nervous he is asking for it. "For my peace of mind, I wanna make sure I can contact you if you were safely home." He explained. "Oh, alright." I replied then we go on our way back to our office. The day was kinda hectic for a Friday but I still managed to handle them all right on the dot. I left the office at exactly 5 pm so I can have enough time because I'm pretty sure I'll be caught in traffic going to the Resto-bar. And yes, it's the same resto-bar where it all started. But since there's no other better place to go near ATLE, I have no choice. Fortunately, I was able to arrive after an hour and everyone was all gathered there already. Victoria and Charlotte welcomed me with a warm hug. After enjoying the feast, the cocktails start flooding in. It's time to go crazy. After a while, Kree arrived. I glanced at him for a second, thinking he will come with Mara but he is all alone. There must be really something wrong with them. I started being silent as I gulp the Martini in my hand. For some reason, I wanna get tipsy or else, I'll end up overthinking in the middle of this crowd. But unfortunately, despite having a couple of cocktails, it didn't kick in. All I feel is... the urge to pee. I looked around for Victoria or Charlotte but they were all busy chitchatting with others so I decided to go to the restroom on my own. But as soon as I stand up, the liquor starts kicking in. I started feeling dizzy so I shook my head vigorously. But instead of keeping myself awake, I feel like everything is moving. I lose my balance and was about to fall from where I am standing but someone catches me. He put a jacket on me as my clothes get a little bit off from my shoulder. I must be starting to get wasted. D*mn, Enzey! You and your bad drinking habits. I rubbed my eyes to keep my mind awake and tried my best to see who's holding me. Because if it's Kree, I swear to God that I'd rather crawl on my way home rather than spend another night with him. I've had enough. Victoria and Charlotte run towards me and they were in a panic to see me acting this way. They were apologizing to the guy who's holding me. I looked at him intently but he still looks so blurred. I tried to look at him closely and moved my face towards him, a few centimeters away. His face slowly gets clearer and I thought for a second that I was just dreaming. It's impossible. How can he be here? I'm pretty sure this is just all because of the cocktails. He can never be here. He said he has somewhere to go and I'm sure it's not here. "Enzey~ Hey, girl! Stand up!" Charlotte hits my arms as she feels humiliated at the way I act, thinking I fell on a stranger's arm. Kree noticed us and was about to help me clean up this mess but he was taken aback as the guy smiled at my drunk habits. They must be surprised that a stranger like him is keeping up with my bad drunk habit. But sad to tell you guys, he is not a stranger to me. Not anymore. "I was texting you but you're not responding. I was about to go out to call you but you suddenly fall right into my arms. What a bizarre way of responding, Enzey." He blurted and everyone was surprised with him, calling my name. "Oh! I know that smile! That smile... it should be... illegal. Stop it." I tapped his cheeks lightly. Charlotte and Victoria feels sorry for him even more. "Okay, okay. I won't smile now if you think I'm doing something illegal. Now, I believe it's time for you to go home. Where's your stuff?" He asked as he helped me to sit for a moment. "I'm afraid I can't let you take her." Kree started butting in. "Luuuuke. I need to pee." I shouted out of nowhere. I'm not sure why did I do that but my subconsciousness kick in like a brat as soon as Kree came into the picture. I hope that will be enough for him back off. Back off, Kree. Back off!
