Welcome home, Alpha

~KELLAN~ “...I am quite disappointed in you!” I squinted my eyes when I heard the voice, the light in the room was brightened, and the curtains were drawn. I groaned. “You’ll be Alpha in a few months! You can not be taking different girls into your room. You just got back from your Alpha training Kellan!” I sprawled on the bed and heard his footsteps as he paced. I turned on my side, staring at the sleepy red-haired girl on my bed. I frowned. Why was the girl from last night still on my bed? “Kellan are you even listening to me? The chief elder will be annoyed when he finds out about this...” “Get rid of the girl.” My voice sounded hoarse, I took the covers off my body and stood up from the bed, my shirt was on the ground. I squatted and picked them up. “Kellan...” I lifted my head and stared at him, Uncle Chad. He was the one who took care of me ever since my parents were murdered when I was six, he never got married and dedicated his time to taking care of me and making sure I healed from the trauma of my parents' death. We had to leave the pack, and we had been outside our Silverwolf Pack for more than a decade. I returned to the pack after my training ended some months back, and was ready to become Alpha of Silverwolf Pack. The chief elder Emmet has been in charge of the pack affairs as the act-in Alpha until I was ready to become one. “Kellan, Chief Emmet will be here in an hour,” Chad muttered as he was taking my clothes away from the chair. He was medium height, wide face, bald hair, and big eyes. He was around his late thirties, and nobody came close to looking as perfect as I looked. I stood before the mirror in the bathroom and admired the gorgeous body I had. The only scar I had was on my forehead, the night our pack was attacked. Someone saved me, I couldn’t identify who it was but I had something that whoever saved me that night owned. I ran my fingers through my hair and covered my scar with it. “Kellan! Be quick, the Chief Elder is here.” “You said an hour!” I yelled from the bathroom. “He came sooner.” I heard his froggy voice and rolled my eyes. “I just returned to the pack after spending...” There was a knock on the bathroom door. I grunted. “Privacy Chad!” “Chief Elder is here.” “Give me a minute.” I retorted and proceeded to turn on the shower, the water ran down my body, and I was too frightened to have my eyes closed for a long time. I came out of the bathroom with the bathrobe on and met the red-haired girl seated on my bed, she had a creepy smile on her face. “I wasn’t supposed to see you in the morning.” “I thought we could have some fun just like last night.” She rose, and the towel she had around her chest fell off. I knew she did that on purpose. “I don’t f**k a b***h twice. I told Chad to get rid of you...” “I can always be there for you, Kellan.” “Get out. If you don’t want me to throw you out without your clothes on.” I sauntered to the wardrobe and took some clothes out of it, I got dressed. I walked to the door, halted, and stared at her. “I don’t want to find you here when I get back.” I slammed the door behind me and went downstairs. I heard Uncle Chad and Chief Elder discussing. I tucked my hands in my jeans as I stepped down, and took the seat opposite them. Chief Elder cleared his throat. “Welcome home, Alpha.” He said with a smile and folded his arms in front of him. I nodded to his warm greeting and stared around our house. It was my parents' mansion, and it had been kept clean for years by the workers in the house, and the part that was destroyed by fire was reconstructed. I swallowed and took my gaze back to the Chief Elder. “You are old enough Kellan, and I will go straight to the reason why I wanted to see you this morning. You are nineteen, you haven’t found your mate, and I heard you tended flirting around. All that has to stop, in a few months we shall conduct the Alpha’s ceremony and you’ll take responsibility for the pack but...” He turned to Chad and cast a swift glance at him. “But what?” I asked in a bored tone. “You’ve to finish high school.” “Oh fuck.” “Language Kellan.” Uncle Chad scolded in a low tone. “Your transfer has already been processed, and you’ll be part of the wolf trainers in the school club. We made you the coach there.” Chief Elder added. “Do I have to?” “Yes, and you can go to college if you want that’s if you pass your final exams. An Alpha must also be educated in all aspects. I promised your late father, we’ll take care of you. The pack members are already aware of your return, and...” “...most importantly find your mate.” He smiled when he mentioned the word mate. “I can’t find my mate.” I glared at them. They knew about it, I haven’t been able to sense my mate ever since I was sixteen. Chad said something must’ve been wrong with me. He wasn’t wrong. “We can try, Alpha.” Chad wanted to sound encouraging. I stood up from the chair with my back against them. There was something else that I wanted, and it was to find my parents' murderers and the person who saved me. “How?” I asked without staring at them. “A mating ball for your return Alpha, all wolves around the age sixteen to eighteen are eligible to attend...” Chief Emmet chuckled. I snorted. “My mate could be older.” “All-powerful families around the packs and our pack, Silverwolf will attend with their daughters, you might be lucky. Alpha Kellan.” I spun around and smirked. “Let’s have the ball.”
