Liam’s p.o.v.
I shot McKenna a last glare and headed toward the reserved seats with a cold expression, “For real Liam? You're not going to speak to your mate, the Luna? She's right in front of you.” Martin Lewis inquired while trotting behind me.
“She’s neither my mate nor the Luna of the Moonshine pack,” I replied with a stern voice.
Meanwhile, my cold eye was fixed on McKenna, who was grinning with a glowing face.
‘What the heck is wrong with that woman? She disappeared on the day we were supposed to divorce and now she’s here. Dressed up and drinking with strange people.' My brows tightened as I was wondering what was wrong with her.
I took a seat that was facing the spot where McKenna was, with my glacial eyes still on her.
The temperament she was exuding was like that of a stranger, I’d never seen this side of McKenna.
For the past six years, McKenna had been gentle and reserved.
She would leave her long chestnut hair hanging down her shoulder, with no makeup in my presence, she was pretty though, but also looked bland and unappealing.
However, chatting cheerfully with the unfamiliar faces, she wore defined makeup, applied red lipstick, and was so absorbed in the drinking competition that she down the liquor like it was mere water.
She appeared in a different light in a way I had never seen before, she exuded this naughty and baddie energy, telling everyone in the bar to not mess with her.
My face turned grim, I gulped down a glass of wine instantly while gazing at the woman on the stage angrily.
'She did have a good time away from the moonshine pack for the past few weeks.’ I mumbled as I checked her out.
McKenna’s p.o.v.
I smiled after taking down the last drop of drink and received applause from my fellow competitors.
I straightened my arms, revealing a peek of my fair and lean waist. I looked around and saw my best friend dancing with a man, it seemed like she was busy and might have forgotten that I was at the bar with her.
Therefore, I got up and left after I got my prize.
“Hey, gorgeous,” someone suddenly appeared next to me and called out lightly.
I paused in my strides as I wasn’t sure if the man was calling out to me.
However, when I turned my gaze toward the voice, I saw a tall and handsome man leaning against the wall with his features well-defined by the dim lights.
He had a surreal smile on his face, and his subtle narrow eyes made me feel so uncomfortable that I unknowingly creased my brows. “What do you want? I noticed that you've been following for a while,” I asked directly.
The man looked at me for some time and said, “You! I think I've seen this face somewhere.”
I scoffed as I wasn’t impressed by his blunt lie. “What an old style to woo a lady.” I rolled my eyes and turned to leave, however, he continued to say.
“Aren’t you Landon’s sister?”
I was entirely shocked when I heard him mention my brother Landon. “What! You know Landon?”
The man instantly chuckled just after I had spoken. He walked closer to me and was towering over me.
“Don’t you recognize me? My name is Eric Dark. I’m your brother’s friend, I've been to your house once. ” His brows were raised as he expected an answer.
However, I was not used to strangers getting close to me, therefore I felt uncomfortable.
My face instantly turned gloomy, I quickly moved back as I balled my fist into an array of protection.
“What the heck! Don't come any closer to me, it doesn’t matter if you are my brother’s friend or not.” My response was quick and with an irritated voice.
“Wow, I see you’re rather belligerent, ready to attack. I saw how you drank right there, so I would like to drink with you, it's on me.” Eric uttered with a smile.
I attempted to refuse, but Eric had already grabbed my wrist and took me into a private room before I could even react.
‘What was going on? How can he drag me with him just like that?’
I thought to myself and squinted my eyes, I abruptly came up with a plan.
I slowly touched my bag while being careful of getting seen by Eric.
Meanwhile, Eric called over different attractive women and in the next second he fondled every one of them.
I paused and only watched in awe, before coldly asking him, “Don't tell me that Landon is the same as you?”
Eric waved off the woman beside him the moment I asked my question.
He bent with his face an inch away from me and looked directly into my eye.
“Wanna know, Minnie?”
He patted the space beside him in a teasing manner. “Sit with me.” He uttered.
My expression suddenly turned ugly.
I stood up, looked down at him, and warned, “If you keep on being disrespectful, I won't have this drink with you.”
Eric chuckled, shrugged, and raised his hand in surrender. “Chill, I’m sorry. I'm not going to overstep my boundaries. Come on, let's drink up.”
A glint of interest flashed in his eyes.
‘This Fae Princess is quite spectacular.’ Eric had a cunning smile at the corner of his lip.
“Well, I still can't discern if your brother has a fling for anyone and.. ” Eric was cut short as the door to the private room was suddenly yanked open just as he was about to hit the juncture.
I was so shocked and frightened that I almost cursed under my breath.
Eric frowned, and groaned angrily, “Who! How did you get in here?”
At the same time, two unknown faces with stoic expressions were seen standing at the door with their tall figure towering over the door.
‘What is going on?’ Eric wondered who the unexpected guests were. ‘Are they also here for McKenna?’
The man with the scary expression said, “You'd have the mind to disappear for weeks without leaving a trace.” He strode into the private room and halted in front of me with his lips pursed into a thin line. A sense of bitterness could be felt in his voice, but I wasn’t concerned.
‘Who the heck is this guy? He’s speaking to McKenna casually, are they acquainted?‘ Eric was more confused now that his brows met.
Meanwhile, the man who intruded into the private room looked around with his cold gaze, his gaze lingered on Eric for a moment and moved towards me for a second.
He started by speaking with a hint of sarcasm. “I never expected that you'd be here, I now believe the saying that can hide in the least expected places.”
I turned red as I was furious.
‘Who is this madman? Why did he come in here just to spew nonsense? Besides, I haven't met
him before! Why is he talking to me like we're close?’ I tried to recall if I had met this man standing a foot away from me but I had no memories of him.
